Good morning, all! DRHisaka, I'm so happy you weren't too close to the earthquake, although the image of you clinging to a huge television is interesting, rather David Cronenberg.
I'm off to Fourteenth Street shortly; I need to talk to Tom Murray in Chicago aboutr BABES IN TOYLAND. He called me yesterday morning and somehow I missed him. I've also got to have a look at the materials for LIFE BEGINS AT 8:40 for the Chicago Humanities Festival and there are several GOLDEN APPLE calls to take care of.
TOD:
Frank Sinatra ("Saturday Night is the Loneliest Night of the Week")
Glenn Miller: "In the Mood," "String of Pearls." and too many others
Duke Ellington: "Caravan," "Take the A-Train"
Ella Fitzgerald: "Tisket a tasket"
The Andrews Sisters: Nearly everything, including "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," "The Carmen Boogie," "Beat Me Daddy Eight to the Bar."
I'm not thinking yet, This is one of my favorite muisical periods!
