For real?

Actually I heard on NPR yesterday that the Vatican has announced that they will no longer teach that unbapitized babies and people born before the time of Christ will go to "Limbo" a place that is supposedly neither heaven nor Hell.  Being raised Lutheran I never held to any such concept, nor that of "Purgatory", another Catholic teaching to which the Lutherans do not ascribe

My candidate for the lowest rated program of the year:

Have No Fear:  The Pope John Paul II Story....tonight on CBS.

Not on CBS tonight. They've got SURVIVOR and reruns of CSI and WITHOUT A TRACE. I think ABC has a Pope John movie on tonight.

CBS' is on Sunday night.

Enjoyed three television series this afternoon, all recorded last night.

First up was VERONICA MARS, another personal investigation for Veronica spurred on by finding something interesting in her mother's old high school permanent record.

I will try to get the alternate ending of the episode off AOL momentarily, but honestly, I don't see how the one on the episode could be bettered.

No, that's on the MGM label. Mine was on the Metro label.

I'll see if I can put my hands on it in a little while.

Then I watched S. Epatha Merkerson give a fine performance in the spotlight on LAW & ORDER. I think the episode where she shot a kid trying to rob her at an ATM was even more dramatic and stirring, but she did herself proud with this one, too.

CSI: NY had two different cases: one involving murder at the roller derby (I didn't know they still had this!) and one with a an unpublished author being murdered on the eve of having his first manuscript published.

I thought I had the second case figured out, but I fell for their red herring and was WAY off the beam.

I found another old DVD that won't play in any of my DVD players any more: the Roger Moore 007 feature THE SPY WHO LOVED ME. Makes me VERY angry.

Okay...I'll play.

I can find no references stating you'd made any suggestions.

Of course, no one was specifically asked about it...it was generic...thrown out to all and sundry.

So...what's this about?  Feeling left out?

It's a studio portrait...posed.  It is certainly a version of the finale dress she wore  (see artwork beloew) but I think the color in the portrait is a bit overdone just as it's a tad underdone below.  The dress below also looks fuller, but it's undeniably the same cut and fabric.

TOD:  One of my favorite scores is his TIME AFTER TIME:  I still remember the elation and relief I felt in 1979 at the end of the film when Mary Steenburgen told Malcolm McDowell as H.G. Wells that he wasn't returning to the past without her.  The movie was romantic and I loved the screenplay, but I believe the score by Rozsa was the romantic undercurrent.
I thought TCB and I were the only ones out there who love this movie. All shows to Go don't it. (I don't usually care for Steenbergen but McDowell's performace is wonderful).

I love the score from "Limelight". I saw the film in my late teens and still love it.  Another vote for "Laura" too.

My favorite moment in the film...both dramatically and musically -- is when they're in the redwood forest and "Herbert" says, "Lost is what I am."

I am never left out....left behind sometimes.

Hmmm.....maybe that's why I couldn't place the photo.  The dress is a bit different, but then the RKO designer has said he had to be down on the set when a scene was filmed to make sure Ginger didn't add multiple "improvements" on the garment just before the cameras rolled.

Are you talking about TIME AFTER TIME?  I must have missed a post at a page turn.

"Barkleys of Broadway" was MGM....costumes were by Irene and Valles.

Actually it was me attributing the honey & vinegar remedy to JRand by mistake ( blame my short term memory lapses... just keep typing just keep typing )and instead of admitting my mistake I just started making stuff up and stating  that to Jack had suggested it

I'm such a troublemaker!! :D
