The temperature is 14 degrees cooler than yesterday, so I am going to try to catch up on my sleep.

And Ginny, I will be happy to tell you what you need to know about tonight's Olympics.

So far, I've been able to get to the Internet (free wi-fi at work...love that!) and listen to a Kritzerland mp3 sample, but YouTube doesn't work, yet. :P I have to figure out what I need to install.

Small world.  I just bought a HP Notebook.  Unfortunately, I will have to send it back.  The display monitor does not display anything, nor does the screen even light up.

Did you charge the battery?

It didn't tell me to charge the battery.  It said to install the battery - I did.  It said to plug it into the wall - I did.  It said to trun on the  power switch and follow the onscreen instructions - It doesn't.  I will try to charge it, but I wished it had told me that.

Mine didn't say to charge the battery, either.  However, it shows the battery level on the main screen, so I could tell that it needed to be charged.  I don't know how long it takes to fully charge and I'll have to wait to find out how long the battery actually lasts.

TOD - without a doubt - Skip's fried chicken

For any HHWer who has not had the extreme luck and privilege to have been hosted by dear FJL and his everlovin' Skip - Skip is a spectacular chef and his fried chicken is simply the best I  have ever had the pleasure of eating

But before I go...

PAGE SEVEN TITUS ANDRONICUS DANCE!!

I was thinking TIGHT-ASS ANDRONICUS would be a hi-larious parody title, but google says it's been done - like hundreds of times.

What about Tight-Ass Androgynous??

;)

Jennifer, I just looked it up and the bike weighs 54 pounds.  That seems lighter than I thought, but maybe it doesnt' include the battery.  Still it's a heavy bike

54 lbs seems heavy. But do you have to actually lift it a lot?

So many threads hanging on THE CLOSER at the moment, and I will be in Dublin for the ending!  I'm already projecting horrible endings for those in the cast not going on to MAJOR CRIMES, and I admit my curiosoty is killing me. I really liked tonight's episode. I guess the leak (sorta!) several months ago.

I finished The Book Thief Saturday night.  I thought it was a very different but good book.  It didn't really seem YA to me

I haven't read it. It doesn't sound like a YA topic. But I guess since the narrator is under 20 (I'm assuming) that is why it is considered YA.

There are many different levels of YA.  There are some books that are definitely geared towards younger readers. But there is a ton now that is much more complex (especially dystopia). But it all comes under the YA general category.

Not sure when NBC is showing the Women's soccer match (US/Canada) so I won't spoil it. But what a crazy match! I don't normally watch soccer (although I do watch a lot of Olympics, especially whenever Canada is going for a medal).

No, but I would if I was going to take it to the organized rides with friends :)

Looks like I'm going to go to New York in December to see Drood.  Does anyone have a suggestion for a hotel that won't totally break the bank?

It's been fun to watch gymnastics without knowing the results.  Go Sam Mikulak, Michigan Wolverine, on vault!

That's great!  Some of the DR's happen to live in New York, maybe we'll get to see you.  :)

Actually what I'm finding is there are decent deals if you don't stay Friday and Saturday night.   I'm thinking 3 nights.  I realize weeknights aren't that easy for a get together, but it may save me literally hundreds of dollars

Finished with my viewing and really hungry, actually.  Never had time to jog today, but have only eaten a turkey sandwich and no fries or onion rings, some carrots, a couple of seventy calorie cheese wedges and an apple.  I think I'm a little too under 1000 calories, but the thing is, what will satisfy my hunger and only be a couple hundred calories.  I could go get a six-inch Subway sandwich - that's only about 300 calories if you get the right thing.

And, it's been a long, been a long, been a long day.

Goodnight.

Just spent the evening lazing about, watching some Olympics, followed by William Castle's I SAW WHAT YOU DID (1965) and INVADERS FROM MARS (1953).  I had seen the former when it was released but remembered almost nothing of it, and I'm not sure I'd ever seen the latter at all.
