Now I'm going to finish up some computer work and then head downstairs to do a little viewing before I start cooking lunch.

I didn't have toffee so I tried coffee on the snow instead of toffee - somehow it wasn't anything special.

There's a repeat of the THE GOOD WIFE on tonight. But like DR MattH, i will be juggling IDOL's 2 hour show, LOST and the men's figure skating.  I think the speed skating will be over by then.

Did anyone else see the cross snowboarding (where 4 people race at the same time)?  The men's final last night was very exciting (although disappointing result for me).

Like DR Cillaliz I am really enjoying the olympics this year. And Canada is doing quite well (yesterday they were 2nd in the medal count, although with only 4).

Hi all - just a quick update on my Grandmother.  The communication from my family is rather non-existent, which is beginning to be frustrating.  No one cares to ask the right questions at the hospital, or  doesn't report on the Dr's latest visit - which IMO, isn't happening enough.  She had a rough day on Sunday, and instead of hearing about it Sunday, I heard about it Monday, and that is after I called my mother.  I'm hoping today, we'll have some medical update of sorts.

In other news, the DP and I saw Wicked on Sunday.  He had never seen it, I saw it when it previewed in SF in 2003 and didn't care for it.  It has since transformed into something watchable and quite fun and I enjoyed it immensely.  (where as in 2003, I couldn't wait for it to be over).  Oh, and we saw both stand-by's for the witches, and they ROCKED.

More at eleven....

I'm able to tell what people have searched for.  So, for example, if a disgruntled actor, say, came here and searched his name, I would see his name in the search list.  I am also able to see what GUEST is looking at what past thread here (I think anyone can do that by clicking on the word GUEST at the bottom of the home page on this discussion board).  So, say a GUEST is repeatedly looking at threads that involve a play that had a disgruntled actor in its cast, well, one could conceivably put two and two together and say "Well, someone came here and searched for the disgruntled actor and now someone is repeatedly reading these threads about the play in which the disgruntled actor appeared.  Since the disgruntled actor most likely searched himself and is most likely the GUEST doing the reading, well it adds up to four in my book.

LOL--I just tried doing a search on how many times I've mentioned Dorothy Kilgallen in my posts and a message popped up saying "You may have meant to search for Dorothea Galilean."

Who is Dorothea Galilean?

Here's the view I had from my desk until Richard knocked the icicles down to keep them from damaging the gutters:

And here are a couple of shots of the front of our house.  We've now knocked these icicles down, too, but they would have been a great way to keep unwanted company from ringing our doorbell!

Obviously Dorothy's mother from the Holy Land.

If anyone's really looking for a dance song, I ran across a demo of Skip's that had been a favorite of mine when Skip's show TIME AND AGAIN was at the O'Neill Center - so I put together a YouTube of it and just put it up Sunday night.

It was a song with people of NYC welcoming Julia (the lady from one hundred years earlier) to the 1990's.  It somehow felt appropriate for the holiday weekend (and I guess holidayweek) with lots of visitors in town - especially the first and last sections of the song.

WELCOME TO OUR WORLD - music & lyrics by Skip Kennon
Sung by Maggi-Meg Reed, joined halfway through by Maureen Silliman and Janie Smulyan

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gFBRO4uKlU

I've always liked this number, and missed it when Skip and his bookwriter Jack Viertel decided to cut it before TIME AND AGAIN had its San Diego run.

Thanks For Sharing----Wonderful Song....

Tell Skip that for me.

DR FJL - I, too, love the "Welcome to Our World" song, because you and Skip do such a good job of welcoming visitors to NYC!
