As for "true crime"...  The Beltway Snipers - or whatever they were called - who randomly shot and killed various people in and around the DC area.  -And even down near Richmond.

I was doing Camelot at the time at Arena Stage, and I had my apartment down in Richmond at the time.  I still remember being so weirded out one night when I was driving back down to Richmond after the show, and noticing cop cars at every exit... Then realizing that I was actually making good time down 95... Then realizing that I happened to be a couple hundred feet behind the police investigation team that was driving down to Ashland since someone had just been shot...  -And then once I got closer to Ashland, and seeing the northbound lanes of 95 had been shut down... A true parking lot, and people just walking around wondering what was going on.  Well...

That really was a very frightening time in DC especially since I frequented two of the areas where people had been shot and killed.  And since most of the shootings had taken place at gas stations, something commonplace as filling up your tank was a bit anxiety inducing.  -Some gas stations had even set up tarps to block the view of the snipers.  And there were even people canceling their show tickets since they were afraid to head to a public venue.

Thankfully, they - a father and son, I believe - were caught (due to a sort of fluke), and their trials have produced guilty verdicts.  -And now the justice system - and the loved ones of the victims - are dealing with just how many trials - and guilty verdicts - there have to be to bring everything to closure.

I walked past Musso and Franks several times. It always looked too expensive to actually go into.

Well, next time, just get a well-known record-producer, composer, lyricist - raconteur! - to treat you to a Crab Louie and a pounded steak!

I was 3,000 miles away digesting my lunch.

Where did you have lunch?
Whom did you have lunch with?
What did you have for lunch?
And was dessert involved?

DR DakotaCelt - Maybe I misread your post, but did you say you were going to see a production of Follies sometime soon?

I am behind in my tv viewing. I did not get a chance to watch last night's LOSTs or MEDIUM. I did however watch VERONICA MARS.

Tonight I will watch SURVIVOR, but record UGLY BETTY.

I've just finished a Snickers bar and am having the most amazing sugar rush!

...And there was a Snickers bar "waiting" for me on my bed when i stepped into my hotel room here.  -Along with some Chips Ahoy, potato chips, bottled water and a bathrobe.

Thank You, UPTAs!

So it looks like LEGALLY BLONDE has gotten positive-to-rave reviews in San Francisco.

Are you seeing it, RLP?

Can't say that any true-life crimes really take my interest.  However, in interest of the recent death of Anna-Nicole, I'm wondering what the autopsy will reveal.  Too many "charactors" in her life lately.

I love fudge!

Reading about it reminded me of something odd i saw this week for the first time. Fudge at the dollar store. And it was $1.

I'm not talking about some fancy dollar store. They do sell food. But i've never seen anything like fudge there. I actually was tempted to try it. But it just struck me as so odd that i didn't get any.

...And it really is nice being back here in Memphis, and back at UPTAs.  When I stepped into the hotel lobby, I was immediately greeted with lots of hugs.  -And some lingering hugs too.  And I wasn't doing all the lingering (DR elmore).  ;)  UPTAs really does have a great staff - very friendly and welcoming - and just darn Nice!

Alas, the convention hotel this year was changed to one by the airport, so there's really nothing culinary notable within walking distance, but the auditions are still being held at Playhouse on the Square, and there's plenty of good eats around there.

And I guess my earlier-waking schedule the past couple of weeks had been a primer for the next couple of days.  The actor briefing where I have to speak is at 8:00am each morning... And since I have to take the shuttle bus over to the theatre...  But then I'll have a couple of free evenings to myself, and there are some good shows in town right now which I may check out.

I better not break a hand.  Heck, if my insurance won't cover four stitches in my thumb, who knows what they won't cover if I actually broke a bone.  But...

Thanks!

If you can get down to the pit and say hi to the Assistant MD/Conductor, Jason DeBord, please do!  He's one of my Lestat buddies.
