As part of my lunch, I’m noshing on a cucumber from the backyard. Nothing like that flavor.

It sounds delicious.  We never grew cucumbers so I have not had them fresh from the ground.

Something very interesting is happening today. I found an article on how bank apps are too confusing for customers. So, I started to read this to see how I can improve my work. Turns out we were cited as the best in the business, and my response (same as my work wife’s) was, well, we’re doing our job.

The new boss, however, sent it out to folks above with her praise attached. And the highest level boss she reached out also sent Krista and me congratulations. This hasn’t happened here before.

Fantastic!

I had originally borrowed the cell phones that Olympia Family Theater had used for Cinder Enda, but those were a little too bejeweled (and juvenile) for the other Legally Blonde characters, so I had to make new ones.  What was also funny about those OFT phones is that a couple of the actresses had taped line cues on the front of the their phones! :))

I am irritated because I woke up sick from the paint fumes. The workmen are here in the apartment today, but I don't think they're doing anything toxic. They're 3/4 done and then I'll have to clean up a bit and put things back. THEN I'll have the place to myself.

Did you find out what paint they are using?  I find paint isn't as bad as it used to be.  We tried the low toxic paint once but it was crappy and took longer to do.

And I learned that there will be even more painting. I really, really don't want to have to move and schlep my stuff somewhere to avoid the paint fumes, but I may have to. I am still appalled that the manager hasn't had the decency to inform me that this is happening.

When is it happening and how many days would you need to be out of your place?

Has this clip of Bacharach and David's "Raindrops Keep Falling' on My Head" from The Ed Sullivan Show been posted here?

I like BJ Thomas' "spontaneous" reaction to the real rain around 2 minutes in :)

And Grant plays the guitar on the album (and did the entire run of the show).

I've started watching the film version of Journey's End. There's someone in the cast who looks a lot like Danny Burstein, but he's apparently not in the movie.

I don't think I have the focus and gravitas for a war movie tonight, though.

I survived The Great Alone. It was well written, but just too depressing for me.

Bruce, I'd forgotten that you had an LA Is song in LA Now and Then. I was thinking of the one from Billy Barnes LA. Fine songs, both.

That's the crux of the problem: I don't know. They don't tell us anything. It's the old mushroom syndrome--they keep us in the dark and...you know the rest. I find things out by talking to the other tenants and talking to the workmen. I'll try to talk to the handyman/painter tomorrow.

At least some of what was on the to-do list from the big walk-through last December never got onto the workmen's to-do list. Today the painter pointed out some caulking in my kitchen that needed to be replaced. Yes, the owner authorized it last December. But someone didn't tell the painter to do it. The painter and I agreed it should be done and it was done. Lots of things are falling through the cracks because of their lack of organization and planning.

I used Safeco paint for most of the renovation on my house in Alexandria. It's excellent paint. We used mostly low-VOC and also some no-VOC. I'd use it again in a heartbeat.
