And I learned that there will be even more painting. I really, really don't want to have to move and schlep my stuff somewhere to avoid the paint fumes, but I may have to. I am still appalled that the manager hasn't had the decency to inform me that this is happening.
When is it happening and how many days would you need to be out of your place?
That's the crux of the problem: I don't know. They don't tell us anything. It's the old mushroom syndrome--they keep us in the dark and...you know the rest. I find things out by talking to the other tenants and talking to the workmen. I'll try to talk to the handyman/painter tomorrow.
At least some of what was on the to-do list from the big walk-through last December never got onto the workmen's to-do list. Today the painter pointed out some caulking in my kitchen that needed to be replaced. Yes, the owner authorized it last December. But someone didn't tell the painter to do it. The painter and I agreed it should be done and it was done. Lots of things are falling through the cracks because of their lack of organization and planning.
