Tax season at the tax office seems to have surged last week, but now temporarily slowed down to a normal pace.

This means that either more corporate clients will go on extension for the March 15th deadline  :) , or that March 1-15 will be absolutely insanely busy :(

It's not only gray and ugly out, it's windy - I may still try the jog, but I'm shivering just thinking about it.

I tried to purchase a mini-poster to the film we're doing the soundtrack for - I used Buy It Now and clicked pay now.  I was then whisked off the eBay site into the company's store, where I was then asked to pay 6.99 (two-thirds of the cost of the poster) for regular shipping - even though in their eBay listing shipping is FREE.  I wrote them via their store and received three responses, all the same saying I had to write them via the eBay listing.  I've just done so.  I will not complete the transaction off eBay, nor will I pay that ridiculous shipping charge.

I wonder what I should eat today?  I have to eat in the early afternoon, as the rehearsal this evening is from six to eight or nine and I don't want to eat that late.

Is it too late for Papa's Eggs?

It's never too late for Papa's Eggs!  Good idea - I may just do that around two-thirty.

I'm having trouble casting the Cindy part for our Nudie reading - the few people I've been to all have commitments that night.  Any ideas for actresses in LA?  I wish Beth Malone was still in town - would like someone like her.

Although it would take rewrites and rethinking (something I'm sure you are loath to do at this point), you and Cindy would be best in those parts.

But watching it again a week or so ago, you were both so good at that.  and it's an ability that would only improve.  IMHO!

DR elmore - And any others who may be commuting on the West Side of Manhattan: There was a "track issue" - a.k.a. train derailment - at 81st Street/Natural History Museum.  No one was hurt, but the trains and busses are a bit "delayed" right now.

why? It's not "dirty" - it refers to Alien abduction mythology.

I didn't know there were any actresses in LA.  I thought they were all in Indianapolis.

MR BK - watch SUSAN SLADE and any problem you may have will seem as child's play.....a child playing with a cigar-eet lighter...

Just reading what's in Papa's Eggs makes me want to have them today, and so I shall - I'll take my manuscript with me and do some proofing whilst eating.  I think the long jog is not happening - it's raining.

Good morning, all! I was up too late with the plane crash coverage on CNN and I slept in. I had been thinking a couple of days ago about my friend Myra who died on one of the planes on 9/11 and this crash of yesterday has me in a rather reflective mood this morning. I have laundry to do, a birthday call to make to Miss Charlotte in Ann Arbor, and hope that by noon I'll be back to my usual self-centered being.

DR George, I know THE WIZARD OF OZ from reading the book at a 10 year-old rather than the film, which I love, but all of the pre-1939 versions veer drastically from the source. According to the preface to the published 1939 screenplay, additional plots not based on the book were considered for addition to the story. Thank God that didn't happen, although the poppy field and snow come from the 1902 musical version. My friend Marc Swartz has written a great book about these early afaptations and it's wonderful. If you love OZ and don't know this book, you should gtab it since it's selling cheap in hardcover on amazon.com/

Thanks for the info, Larry!  The library where I work has two copies.  I requested one.  I should get it sometime next week. :)

Today is Peter Tork's birthday (remember him from The Monkees?) He is 67 years old!

Today is also Tennessee Ernie Ford's birthday.  He was born in 1919.  My mom loved him.

Is there a Mama's Eggs, too?

Only inferentially:

We have Pasta Mama – pasta with scrambled eggs, garlic, parsley and Parmesan cheese.

We have Pasta Papa – the above with bacon, scallions and sausage added.

So, I guess Mama’s Eggs would be scrambled with garlic, parsley and Parmesan cheese.
