And as for me posting that picture last night, well...  Here is the pic that was taken before that one was taken:

Adelaide Australia's "favourite" local speciality is A meat pie (beef steak) in a bowl of pea soup. It is known as a "floater".

Tonight DR JOSE will be singing "The Breeze and I."

I hope not.

*And with the Building Inspector coming tomorrow morning, I have a feeling the window will indeed be replaced tonight one way or another.

OH!

And since today's turnout was on the low side, tomorrow's callback session won't be starting until 11:30!  -Which means I can go to the gym tomorrow morning and not have to rush through my routine :) and/or I can be here when the Building Inspector comes by :-\.

*And we might be done as early at 1:00 too!!

...YES!  All of the above happened - or rather did not happen - during the course of one 16-bar, 20-second audition today.

;D
But was he cute?

And just how did you dispose of the remaining jewel and slip cases?

Some of the used CD/DVD stores I've across will buy them for 50 cents a piece - sometimes more, sometimes less.

It got recycled.

I love the Do Not list for auditions. And this guy/gal expects to make a living in that field?

First of all, he was actually she.  -And, no, I do not mean the she was cross-dresser.

Secondly, she actually looked great.  She was dressed "fiercely", entered the room with confidence, but then once she opened her mouth and started to move around, well.... You could hear the proverbial balloon deflating.

Sadly, there are a lot of guys and gals like that guy/gal who expect to make a living in this field... And have been expecting to make a living at it for a number of years.  Quite a number of years in some cases.

*There are a few "veterans" that I first played for back in the mid-90s who are still plugging away - and still singing the same badly chosen and/or inappropriate material.  And many of them started back in the 80s... 70s... 60s....

That would almost be appealing if it were called something else!   :D

So...

The handyman just came by...

The bad news...  He wasn't able to find a place to repair my window today.
The "good" news...  It will be repaired tomorrow morning instead.
The bad news... He will be putting the old window back in in a few minutes.
The "good" news...  Thankfully, it's a double-pane window, and only one pane is broken.

And I also just found out that "they" will be re-facing and repairing the front of the building starting in two weeks. :-\

You're welcome, DR singdaw.

And what's that quote from "Steel Magnolias":

All gay men have track lightin'. And all gay men are named Mark, Rick, or Steve.

;)

Steve was certainly a hottie, Jose.  And he lives in the City!

DR SINGDAW's review of MAHH is on Amazon!  ;D

http://www.amazon.com/review/product/1434333256/ref=cm_cr_dp_all_helpful/102-4635991-9296953?%5Fencoding=UTF8&coliid=&showViewpoints=1&colid=&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending

Why does Amazon identify MAHH as a paperback and have a release date of August 2007?  I thought we were among the first to read the book.

And how dare that Slingblade use words that I have to look up to understand his review???

DR TCB - My review was originally just three words: "It was fierce!"  But since I've never actually ever used that expression, it seemed a little hollow.  :)

From yesterdays discussion of siblings, here aer mine in numerical order.

Jack (b. 1948), Sue (b. 1951), Allen (b. 1953), Jeff (b. 1955), me (b. 1963), Dan (b. 1967).

Jack passed away at age 38 in 1987 of cancer (he had been exposed to agent orange during the Vietnam war..he was a pilot who sprayed the stuff).

Sue has always been my favorite, and she still is. She is the only sibling that lives here in the Salem area.

Allen is a great guy and used to be DR Jane's Fed Ex driver. A bit of a redneck and he seems to enjoy killing animals for sport (many heads are on his walls), but I still love him.

M Barnum, I know I am opening myself up for obscene comments, but my question is serious.  Were you taught to hunt for sport when you were growing up, or is that an interest that Allen got from somewhere else?

Waiter there's a Flea In My Soup.

Free-association time!  There was a musical revue from the 1980s in Seattle that was called, "Waiter, There's a Slug In My Latté" (and the "slug" of the title refers to the slimy, shell-less-snail kind of slug).  I have a copy of the recording and it's pretty funny. ;D

Does anyone (dakota maybe) know what is going to happen to the soaps with the writers' strike?  Will they keep going? Show reruns?

According to an acquaintance many of the soaps will have scripts into late december and early January. They film up two weeks in advance and they also shut down between Christmas and new  Years. With any luck, that will bring new stuff up to about the middle of January. AFter that it is anyone's call.

After that if they continue, it will be either a few writers crossing the lines or freelance writers. I do recall the nuttiness of the writing back in the last strike via tapes and some of it was rather shaky at times. I also recall an interview that Matt had done a while back where he mentioned that they continued filming during the strike and they never knew where the scripts were coming from. However, anything filmed now will not be modified but filmed as is.

In the case of DOOL, it cant get anyworse. I have not been impressed at all with Hogan Sheffer's work. He did great on ATWT but evidently lightning does not strike twice.

In the case of DOOL, they have another pin in the casket in 08 and that will be the Olympics.

It will Soapnet but I think there they might show reruns of SoapTalk, classic soaps like Another World or the primetime ones.

I would love them to show Search for Tomorrow...
