As we move to Page 3 I report that we will not be seeing After the Ball. He who  hesitates is lost and we lost. The rest of the run is sold out. We may be able to get cancellations but at this point there are not even any house seats left.

Damn, them. Damn them all to hell.

WASHINGTON - Calling this weekend’s national election in Iraq “a grand moment in Iraqi” history, President Bush on Wednesday urged the populace to “defy these terrorists” waging an unrelenting campaign of violence by casting their ballots.

Despite the continuing violence, the president predicted that millions of Iraqis would “show bravery” by voting in Sunday’s national election, but he conceded that some potential voters would be intimidated by insurgents’ threats to target voters and polling stations.

Chooster looks like he is using Lucy Ricardo's telephone!  How nifty!

DR HISAKA what a lovely yellow rose.

DRMATTH I didn't mention Lee Patrick, but I should have.  And don't forget today is Charles Lane's 100th Birthday - good old Mr Bedloe, etc!

I went to bed too early and missed all those quotes!

Jay O. Sanders as Falstaff!  Oh my how wonderfully perfect that is....and I would have never thought of it.

Thanks for the interesting stories about the workshop, MR BK.  Too bad that DR Noel is no longer here to talk about it as well.

Somtime today I may get some photos from the FundRaiser and if so I will post them.   You have been warned.

Favorite movies with a lot of character actors:  Clue and Airport '75.

Nichols & May and Burns & Allen and French & Saunders.  Everytime....they get me everytime.

The bargain funeral routine that Nichols & May did had me rolling on the floor before I was ten years old.
May: And where did you see our ad?
Nichols: Tv Guide.

Hmmmmmm.....my question for ASK BK day....what is your favorite Oscar Wilde short story, play, or novel.  And is there a film adaptation of a Wilde piece that you think was well done?

Not getting the Chooster "vibe."  It's a piece of pottery chunk of wood (probably pressed).

My world wouldn't rattle if a quake knocked it off its perch.

Sorry, but...it's an object...not a living being.

All will be right in the world, or a part of it, when the President stops the loss of lives of American troops in Iraq.

Forgive me if I'm unable to be silly....

Yes, I heard this on the radio this morning.  There was also a quote, which I cannot remember exactly, in which the President said that any loss of life (regarding a plethora of deaths, both here in a training exercise and in Baghdad) is regrettable.

It's way past time for this entity to find it UNACCEPTABLE.  Maybe then something will be right with the world.

On "reality TV", specifically "Survivor":

Hello DRJOEY did you survive the snow last weekend?

Yep, I survived. We actually didn't get too much snow in Muncie.  My problem is going to be surviving the next month. Between Godspell, classes, and my responsibilities at church, I have very little free time and when I do I just want to lay down and relax.  :P

Ron, you're not the only one who doesn't get the Chooster vibe.  It's hardly a rara avis if they're discounting them in bins at Pier One.  It's not an object d'art.  It's a knick-knack. A rather tacky one at that.

In honor of Charles Lane's birthday, I am going to come up with a scheme to shut down the Cannonball Express and send it to the junk heap where it belongs!

(Of course, the gang at the Shady Rest will hold a Saturday Night Hootenanny to raise money and foil my whole plan, but that's all well and good.)

Allow me to apoloize at once for past and future "dourness".

I had a tremendously cathartic four-hour telephone conversation last night and then it was time to come to work, it was overcast, cold and raining and I'm sleepy and have a scratchy throat and then I heard "the president" dissociate himself emotionally from American lives and welfare and I've been grouchy ever since.

But...truly....even when I was giddy and having fun, I just wasn't tracking on the whole "chooster" thingamajig.

But as long as it brings some joy....

Was he in for repairs? Oiling?  Sanding?

WHAT?

Did you read last nights posts between Panni and BK?

I saw blame and recrimination and defiance.  So what else is new? (A "Woman of the Year" reference).

;D

Since there is a perception of great popularity for this object, perhaps Panni could produce a calendar full of "chooster" photos...from when he was an egg, a hatchling and then photos of the operation that transgendered it from a chicken to a rooster or vice versa to create a "chooster."

What fun.

Tra la.

;D

We could all laugh and laugh and be merry and fey.

Well, everyone is saying that he was away getting his eyes done, but I heard from a good source that he was at Betty Ford's for a week.

BTW (internet lingo for "Bite Tom Waits"), Chooster is wooden, not ceramic.
