Friday is a work day.Last night at rehearsal I told a bunch of little girls to shut up and listen to the director, and they just laughed....although they did shut up.I HATE HATE HATE working in shows with children who don't really care about being in a show and know nothing and listen to nothing and are generally useless. They run around the theater during rehearsal and always have to ask ONCE AGAIN where they are supposed to be and WHAT are we doing.....HATE HATE HATE. And the NEVER shut up.I now remember why I never audition for big musicals. There ARE three children out of the group to whom the above does NOT apply.

And while I enjoyed Arthur Laurents' work, I know of a particularly cruel casting couch episode that never made me fond of the man.
Pavilion...Vermilion...Okay, there's a show tune with the word vermilion but it keeps slipping out of my grasp. What is it?

A ninety-three year old man's death would be shocking if he were found wearing an Esther Williams bathing suit.
How soon they forget: what about bin Laden?
I'm back from Dayton, having opted out of the optional lunch after the seminar. They were going to BW3 and I decided that sounded like someplace I didn't need to eat. I did an errand and came on home to eat a heart-healthy lunch.
Found out today that I have to start taking insulin. A whole new world awaits.
Back from a nice visit to the Colony Theater, where we'll be recording Jason Graae's Jerry Herman show. All details are known and it should be fun.

Well, a second blessing has come my way today (I see the insulin as one). I got the job that I interviewed for a few months ago. I'm starting on a temporary basis of three months, but if it works out, it could be permanent. It's with USAA, which is headquartered here.
