In my list of lost collectibles would be my autographs from Lillian Gish and Ella Fitzgerald as well as a letter from Frank Capra.

A year ago, I was on the Greek island of Kos, walking around, when I spotted this beautiful bird. I followed him for about a half mile. Got lost. Ended up in the next village over, about eight miles away before I got back to where we were staying.

T.O.D.

The problem with this questions is that one person's "weird" is another person's "normal".

I have a collection of signed lobby cards (Clark Gable, Humphrey Bogart, Spencer Tracy, Lana Turner etal.) and posters.

Is that weird?

The conversation has actually been morphing from “weird stuff” to all manner of collectibles and back again.

Stella has decided that if the food is something I like, then she must like it, too.  This attitude turns every meal I have into Daddy and The Beggar.  Once Annabelle and Thatch have determined something I'm munching on is not in their range of possible snacks, thery stop pestering me.  Not Stella.

I worry that at some point she'll eat something that is not good for her, like raisins or onion.

Topic of the Day:  I've mentioned this before (but not in a while) but I have a set of slides that I bought on eBay.  They were taken and sold by Gorman Bechard, and it turns out that Vixmom actually went out with him a few times back in the day.

That’s right! I wonder how Gorman is doing these days.  I know he wrote a couple of books and produced some films. The last time we communicated (by email, we haven’t spoken since 1979 or so) had to have been more then 15 years ago because I know I was still at my first law firm job and the Vixter was little

I was careless with my possessions in the 1970s.  I had letters from Lotte Lenya and Benjamin Britten that have completely vanished.  I think the only collectible item I have today is an original George Gershwin drawing that Leonore Gershwin, Ira's widow, gave me as an opening night gift around 1988.

Ouch!!!

If I think about it hard enough (and I don't really want to), I'll come up with a couple of painful losses myself. Probably not from anything as remarkable as those letters. But I know the feeling.

Now wouldn't that be the topic: "Irreplaceable Collectibles We Have Lost".

No. Let's not go there.

I have no idea what happened to the letter Katherine Hepburn sent me

DR Jeanne, I still hope for a sherpa.  I decided I did not want to go to Staples yesterday and photocopy enough prepared orchestra sheets to write this orchestration, and I wish I had someone to go for me.  So, this morning, I have prepared 18 sheets equaling 72 bars of music since I have plenty of pads of the paper I need.  I will need, however, to still write in the key signatures on every part on every page now and that's why photocopying a prepared photocopy makes it much easier to just write in the notes.

Or chocolate.

At any rate, that's what I always heard are the two toxic things for cats (and possibly dogs):  onions and chocolate.

I didn't know that about raisins, so thanks for the heads up on that.
