And here's a bit of wordplay that popped on the Twitterverse today:

A woman walks into a bar and orders a double entendre. So the bartender gives it to her.

OH!

So...

It turns out my two new roommates first met each other while waiting "in line" to look at another apartment.  Apparently, the woman showing the apartment took such a long time coming down to the front door to let them in, that they struck up a conversation.  And while they were conversing, they both realized they were enrolled at the same college, MBCC - Manhattan Borough Community College.  And they're in the same program track.  -So, they started to look for a place together.  Funny how that worked out.

*And, this could either be a curse or a blessing, but one of them works at Magnolia Bakery.  -And since Magnolia doesn't sell "day old" cupcakes, well... You can figure out the rest.  ;)

:D   Yummy!

Thanks for the congrats on my case yesterday.  Today my client came in and not only paid her bill in full but gave me a bonus!  A bonus! Wow!  It was such a happy meeting. She's over the stress of yesterday and was all smiles and giggles.  I love days like this

OH! Congrats, a bonus!  Do I sense another trip to Vegas in your near future?  ;)

Or to Ashland ;)

That is really something Cilla.  It must be nice to be appreciated.

It is.  :)

DR Sam I'm so very sorry you have all these hassles.  I guess you need to be a signer on the account.  I hope you can delay paying anymore bills.

HUGS & VIBES!

Oh, Cool!

I just checked my Flickr page, and, apparently, one of my photos has been "short-listed" to be included in an online and off-line Travel Guide for Miami.  -Of course, it's one of my food shots.  There's no pay involved, but I will get full photo credit if I make the final cut.  :)

Did you read about the Missouri family who's Holiday card photo ended up a full blown poster ad in Prague? A friend happened to see it.

Cillaliz, we have the strangest June weather. It has been below 100 degrees for about ten days now. Right now it looks like it could rain.

Hi, DR Ben - Did you find your Joseph?

Yes, as a matter of fact I did. It's the London recording. He was happy to get it.

There were a few things I wanted to purchase besides Joseph but I held back.

I LOVE Myers of Keswick and Magnolia Bakery Pecan Pie!

Sam, I too went through much of what you're experiencing--and my dad and I had a living trust, which theoretically should have prevented it. Thankfully, we put my name on most of his accounts ahead of time. But it still wasn't easy.

As for your dad's car, I have it on good authority that the DMV will usually let the sale go through, without the waiting period.

I'm sending you a PM, as well.

I can't believe I'm saying this in the middle of June, but...

I think I'm going to have to close the windows and doors since it's starting to get a little chilly here in the apartment.

*Wish I could send some of this coolness your way, DR MattH.

I couldn't believe it! I opened the door to put a magazine in the recycle bin, and it was so cool that I immediately opened the door and windows and have the attic fan on. I'll sleep with open windows tonight! Wow!

I just turned off the tv to find this email from my dear friend Karen Ziemba:

That's me Larry...the loopy lady. She'll be on again 6/24. I'm in San  Diego now in rehearsals for THE FIRST WIVES CLUB.

Perhaps the actress you're thinking of on the soap is playing another stressed out wretch?

Have you found anything good yet, Elmore?

In a gospel arrangement or in the McGlinnventory? Yes to both.

So much of the McGlinn finds are so sad; it's amazing how he burned his way through money and tragic how his mental blocks and rigidity destroyed what was a prestigious career. He wasn't talented enough to have a brilliant career, but he could have had a good one if his madness hadn't made him so impossible to work with. One of the last things I said to him in 2002 before we stopped communicating was "you need to know which battles to lose so you can win the important ones" but he never would concede on silly things and as a result we lost recordings of things because he inssited it be complete on two discs when the company only wanted one, like THE CAT AND THE FIDDLE I found a schedule from Naxos for a whole series of recordings beginning with BABES IN TOYLAND, and it all fell through in 2001 because his madness took over and suddenly he and the head of Naxos Records weren't speaking. Today I ran across his contract with the Packard Humanities Institue so I know what he was making and his severance. And he ran through it immediately on all the music, books, etc lining his walls, and he died in total poverty. Really sad.

That is a really, really sad story, and a surprise since I had such a different opinion of him judging from the recordings I had. Just goes to prove you can't judge a book by an album cover.

Glad you got the confirmation from her that she was indeed the actress in question. I really have enjoyed her every time I've seen her on stage.

I had a blissful night of watching just whatever I wanted to watch.

I began by watching YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN on Blu-ray. I hadn't seen the movie in years. At the time I first saw it, I thought it was one of the most brilliant comedies I'd ever seen. Now, some of it works and some of it is painfully slow and, I guess from seeing Mel Brooks use the same set-ups and jokes in movie after movie, not all that funny any more.

But the cast is absolutely brilliant, impossible to better.

The Blu-ray is acceptable, maybe a little more, but not exceptional which was something of a disappointment.

Next I watched LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT from Sunday night. An OK episode with a couple of surprise revelations I wasn't expecting.

Next, I finished THE FASHION SHOW which I had started watching yesterday. At least this week I agreed with who was sent packing.

And I concluded my evening by watching the first 70 minutes of THOUSANDS CHEER from the Warner Archive collection. The big Army Show sequence is coming, but we haven't gotten to it yet, so we've had about a half dozen songs from Kathryn Grayson. I guess this was meant to propel her into the upper ranks of the MGM stars.
