Well, I'm leaving work.  There are only two other people in the building, besides me, and I'm bailing.  I'm off to help my sister get ready for Sunday.  Tomorrow, we're all going to our parents' house for the main gift-giving event, then just getting together on Sunday for family/game/movie time.

Have a good rest of the evening, all!

Have a great evening, George.  And, in case you don't check in before - Merry Christmas

I think it would be great if some year, all of us snuck into town and showed up on BK's door.

Back from shopping - the Sherman Oaks mall is a madhouse, just crazy.  But I found one of the two things I needed, and spent some time in the Apple Store discussing things with a nice salesperson.

I've baked gingerbread boys and reindeer and let them cool while I ate pizza.  Now I have to go put faces on the boys.  Tomorrow all I have to do is make jello salad and cheesy potatoes and make the dining room table presentable for Sunday.  For that I'll be using the new runner that I bought in Germany.

Ginny, Betsy wants you to know in the spirit of ecumenicalism that your recipe is almost identical to her recipe for "Jewish Coffee Cake."  ;)

There was some snow here today. But luckily the driving was not bad at all. Even though it was quite thick there was no snow on the main roads!

Has Facebook now removed the birthday reminder list that used to be on the right side of the home page forEVER???  Is that yet another improvement?

I still see it (my cousin's birthday was a few days ago and it appeared).

But I see there are more changes. Everyone's pages are having these weird timelines. Hasn't happened to me yet. I don't get why they keep changing it so often!

Got almost all packages due today but no important envelope.  Bah, humbug.  And one package didn't arrive even though it was sent the day before another package that did arrive - and by the same person from the same place.  The first package shows as being sorted in Bell Gardens this morning, so maybe tomorrow.

Do you guys have mail service on Xmas eve?

We never have mail on Saturdays. But i'm sure there will be no mail on Boxing Day either (just my guess). Can't wait for that day. My favorite shopping day of the year!

LOL, DR JMK, it was given to me as "Italian Coffee Cake," but I started calling it Cinnamon Pecan when contributing it to bake sales and talent auctions!

Festive Christmas Eve eve here, wrapping gifts, munching pop corn, slurping wine.  Managed to get through Florence Henderson through the ages without falling asleep.  After which, I put on John Denver & The Muppets (too much Denver, not enough Muppets) and then A Muppet Family Christmas (which I very much enjoyed!)

Aw!  Good news about that girl who left her $170,000 violin on a Megabus--a janitor found it and got it back to her!

My faith in human decency is restored!

Night, all.

Sleep tight. Don't let the radishes bite. (Hope your Noche de los Rabanos was wonderful.)

Good Evening!

We had a good show tonight. I had a good show tonight. Hopefully, most of it will stay in my head and fingers after having the next three days off.

Oh...

Apparently, an audience member asked one of the ushers last night if the piano music was recorded. She thought that the two pianists were "actors".

Hmmm...

I have sliced, diced, chopped, and now all ingredients are ready for the spaghetti sauce - so I'm way ahead of the game for tomorrow.  I also made the tuna pasta salad so tomorrow I can sleep in, do the four-mile jog, go buy the one final present I need to, and then cook.

I stink of garlic, through and through, but the best thing I did was buy this huge three-pound bag of peeled garlic cloves - it's fresh garlic, just peeled and brother do I hate the peeling part.  So, this year the garlic mincing was easy/breezy for the first time, but boy do I stink of garlic.

DR Jennifer - I do believe that the USPS is open and delivering tomorrow. However, I know that because of the holiday rush, any Express (overnight) mail needed to be sent by yesterday, December 22, in order to be guaranteed for delivery by the 24th. The USPS "extended" the guarantee deadline to two days for Overnight. Or something like that. ::)

It's still there. I always have to do a double-take when I have one of those rare days when none of my Facebook friends has a birthday.
