MY TRUE LOVE AND WHAT SHE DID NOT GIVE TO ME
« on: December 23, 2011, 12:21:25 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes explained all about my true love showing up empty-handed repeatedly, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're true loves are bringing all sorts of interesting things.

Topic of the Day:

In my CD player:  my own compilation of Liz Callaway singing the songs of Stephen Sondheim.  I'm actually going to make a copy for my sister's boyfriend.  Earlier this year, we went to a Seattle Storm basketball game and I brought it along to listen to in the car (he drove and has a CD player in his car...I don't).  He liked it a lot and wanted a copy, but I never got around to it, but now I have.  I actually will add a couple of songs from Liz's latest solo CD, so it'll be more complete and up to date. :D

We will head out to Long Island in a while.

We have a tiny bit of shopping to do and then we will have lunch with our dear friend, Alfred.

We will then have dinner with Anthony's parent's. Too much food already!!!

I have begun riding the stationary bike again (for the past week) and I plan on using the treadmill while on Long Island.

We wanted to see The Artist (I may have mentioned this already) but it's not playing anywhere on Long Island so we will see it in the city.

And that, my friends, is that. For now.

I'll pop in and out over the next few days.

Happy Christmas to all and to all a good morning!

Today is Friday....it is a work day.  I get to work with my two sisters.  My brother in law is doing something else.....he may be too busy to come into the store at all.....which I would understand completely.

TOD:

DVD - The Deal   A movie about the political careers of  Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.  I guess I have less of an interest in British politics than I thought I did, although it is entertaining.

CD - 100 Hits of the 1950's, some of which I have never heard.

The neighbor with no muffler just left.....she will be back soon, I am sure.  Although since the kids are not in school today, I don't know where she could be going this early in the day.

I always confused "perquisite" with "prerequisite" in the old days - but I think I'm clear on the difference these days

Great Filichia on Friday. Again, I'm always please there's at least one person out there who analyzes instead of merely reviewing or theorizing.

Robert Easton has passed away.  You will probably recognize his picture, if not his name.

Good morning, all! I am sick of this damned warm weather. At 12:45am, it was so warm and uncomfortable that I got out of bed to open a window. I then had  strange dreams: researching Jerome Kern music with Rob Berman, looking at contracts for Mary Roberts Rinehart and Jerome Moross. I slept very well, I think, but the the dreams were peculiar.

I still have a couple of gifts to ponder today. Perhaps the Juilliard Book Store will provide an idea. Today, I've got a trip to the NYPL at Lincoln Center, with a stop at West 70th Street to drop off a package. Then it's back to the endless ROBERTA Fashion Show score. I'll never finish it!

A thought from 1728 on today's word:
If you at an Office solicit your Due,
    And would not have Matters neglected;
You must quicken the Clerk with the Perquisite too,
To do what his Duty directed.

TOD:
DVD: Several Christmas Carols and Nutcrackers
CD:  Lots ofChristmas music, soundtrack for ONCE, Guy Haines, Liz Callaway, Offenbach
  VCR: cheep cheep cheep

That is quite a saying DR ELMORE.

I shall ponder it at work today.

I am off.  Oh well.

Friday morning greetings!  Gingerbread dough is chilling to be made into cookies this afternoon and pecans are toasting for use in coffee cakes this evening.  Soon I'll do my basement walk, get cleaned up, and go out to do a couple of errands.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!

Been way too busy this week but the effort is paying off in that I'm a little ahead of the game.  Only two big chores on the plate, cleaning the kitchen and food shopping and I plan on getting them out of the way today.
