I'm up - the telephonic device rang at eight - some 800 number.  I fell back asleep until ten.

Just before I went to bed last night I realized that despite going over what I needed again and again before I went to Gelson's and after, I forgot, oh, a minor ingredient for the tuna pasta salad - namely the tuna.  Unbelievable.  So, as soon as I got up I went back and got the tuna - the cars were already starting to pour in there like lemmings, but I was in and out in four minutes.

JMK - of course Goldsmith's score was very atonal - but that was that film.  For Rise, rather than all that relentless thumping that has been the flavor of the month for almost two decades now, a tune would have really helped for the more emotional stuff, rather than the rising and falling slow pads of music we got.  Mr. Doyle, if given his druthers, I'm sure would have come up with it because he sure has in the past.

BK, I also have plans to make spaghetti and tuna pasta salad for tomorrow night. We'll have that for an early dinner before we go to church.

I wonder if other people are having trouble signing in to HHW and then getting kicked out.

She got the house, the car and the kids.
But you get to keep your insurance.

He's got a new trophy wife, but you've still got us.

You got rid of the excess baggage, but don't get rid of us.

Divorce the louse, not us.

DVD: Stolen Face (1952). Intriguing early Hammer film with Lizabeth Scott and Paul Heinreid. Good Malcolm Arnold score.

Not I.  I just gave my very first (solo) evaluation!  Now...to write the other four. :-\

Me too. She was great in The Strange Love of Martha Ivers. She's 90 next year!

Cinnamon pecan coffee cakes just went into the oven.  The house is going to smell wonderful when Richard returns from his errands!

Recipe?

Cinnamon Pecan Coffee Cake

Batter:

2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream (I substitute plain - not nonfat - yogurt)
1 tsp. vanilla

Topping:

1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 tbsp. flour
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Sift together flour, baking powder, and baking soda and set aside.  Cream butter, sugar, and eggs.  Add sour cream and vanilla, then dry ingredients to form a smooth batter.

In a greased & floured 9x13 pan alternate batter, topping, batter, topping and bake at 350o for 45-60 minutes, until a toothpick in center comes out clean.

A double recipe makes 3 nice 8-inch square cakes, which are great for gifts.  This freezes well.

Family favorite, DR George!  My mom started making this recipe in the 1950s and now my sister, niece, and I all make our own versions of it.  When I started substituting yogurt for the sour cream, I didn't tell my sister.  She was passing through here on her way to Florida one Christmas and I just gave her a coffee cake to take with her.  When I saw her next and she told me how much they'd enjoyed the cake, then I told her.  She hadn't suspected!

This morning, I sent an email about the four investors wanted for "Christmas Up the Holler," and I've got two responses so far: a no thank you and my college friend Dr Shoemaker, pediatrician, just invested. I hope I get more positive results.

Did the four-mile jog, helper picked up the last invoices we're shipping until after the New Year, I had some bacon and eggs and am back home awaiting the arrival of singers - three coming today.  Hopefully that will all be done by three and then I'll mosey on over to the mail place, and then try to buy the two presents I need to buy.

When was the last time that either Dokota Celt or Danise visited BK's living room?  Has anyone heard from either of them?
