It's about time to leave work and head south, where we hear the snow has already started.  S'pozed to turn to ice overnight, so I'm taking a pile of work home - just in case.

Bye for now!

TOD: Not that I was particularly interested in seeing it, but the title EVENT HORIZON definitely kept me away.

Just a semi-random question...

Just what is it about theatres, hotels and office buildings that make people forget how to count and/or the order of the alphabet?

"I'm looking for room 506."
-Well, this is 505, and 506 is right next door to your left.
"How many doors down is that?"

???

Well, if you were in Cabin 505, and somebody wanted Cabin 506, they would have to go to the other side of the ship.
(Even - port, odd, starboard; oh, and port is left, starboard right - and after oh-so-many years I still have to remember that port, even, and left all have four letters; and port running lights are red, like the wine)

Now - who knows what this sentence is for:

JANE EYRE is one of my favorite books and movies, in its various incarnations, so I probably would have loved WIDE SARGASSO SEA, but I just couldn't get past the title.

I think now I'm ready to give it a shot. Any recommendations by the DRs?

In some hotels, even numbers are on one side of the hall, and odd numbers are on the opposite side.

Well, I actually ended up finishing up a little after 5:00, so I've been wandering around a bit until dinner and then showtime..

And now my wandering is done.

I'll bet JJ would approve if someone vacuumed that disgusting looking carpet!

:D

Hey, he made the mess, he can clean it up! (and I bet a vacuum would scare him but good - He sure didn't like the sound of the car starting up).

Back from lunch and proofing part one.  Next to me were two screenwriters, laptops on tables, doing their story outline.

Wha???

I think "Has that reservoir faring?"
can be translated: How's that reservoir faring" - meaning the lake which supplies Atlanta's water that is drying up.

Yup!  Yup!  :-[   What der Brucer said.

HOW is Lake Lanier faring?  Have the rains been sufficient to raise the water level appreciably?

I have not read the book, but I liked the film very much. I had no idea it was based on Bronte when I went into it.

Hip hip and hooray! The cabaret lady's check arrived and has been deposited.  I have spent part of the afternoon finishing up the cartons with numbered labels and additional tapings.  I hope that on Monday I can call Fed Ex and ship it all out of my life.

I've decided that the cartons are my priority and I sent Matthew an email telling him I'll catch him next month at the Caffe Vivaldi.  He's been selling his CD on his MySpace page, and I really like it and recommend it.

Not good. Obviously, any rain is better than none, but the levels continue to decrease and now we're looking at other options---building more reservoirs, etc. We really should have been thinking about this, oh, say 10 years ago! They have relaxed the watering restrictions a tiny bit in our county, but we still have lost a lot of wonderful plants and my very favorite rhododendron, which was so glorious last year.

People may not be planting many more rhododendrons in the future. Although they grow wild in the mountains on hillsides, they seem to be very drought intolerant, so it doesn't look good for their future.  :'(

For DearReaderLaura:

Are you looking for a guest preacher to perk up your Sunday services?

Might I suggest Paul Wirth, Lead Pastor of RELEVANT CHURCH?

He says:

Quote
People are not having enough sex. An epidemic of breakups prove the needs that lead to a great sex life are being overlooked. Dirty dishes, frumpy clothes, and a lack of authentic connections are killing the romance. A great sex life is a challenge and takes focus, determination, and planning. Some say it’s an unrealistic goal, but we disagree. We believe you can have a great sex life, in fact we believe God wants you to have a great sex life.

Relevant Church is proposing a challenge encouraging married couples to purposely engage in sexual activity for 30 days and singles to intentionally forgo sexual activity for 30 days.

THe 5th b-day with the DP (the pastry chef), and will there be cake waiting at home?  Nope, no cake.  There has NEVER been cake.  I'm over the fact that the DP will not bring cake for mine or ANYONE's b-day!

I blame it on the absence of TV shows like "Hart to Hart" in which both Robert Wagner and Stephanie Powers "seemed" to be totally in love with one another.
