The logic involving the iocaine powder is dizzying.

Home from the first part of church for a Sunday.  I'm back later.  In the meantime, off to do errands and stuff.  School begins tomorrow, students arrive on Wednesday.  Going to be a great week.

Well, I just ate and now must be off.  Today is our first big run through rehearsal and we'll probably wear whatever costume pieces that we have.  I'm sure that mine are complete.  Our costumer built Hawaiian shirts for me as Maxwell (the producer) and Guy, who plays Matthews, the other producer.  They're made from the same material, so we match.  Isn't that cute? ;)

As Kershaw, the cop, I'm just wearing black pants, a blue shirt, a tie and sunglasses.  I want to do a bit where I take off the sunglasses and have another pair of sunglasses underneath!  And then a little later, do that AGAIN with a third pair of sunglasses!  I just need to see if I can find a big pair that fit over my middle-sized sunglasses more easily.  They need to be less obvious.  We'll see if it all works. :D

Back from Tam o' Shanter, where I joined Lanny Meyers for brunch.  I had eggs benedict - not too hot but thankfully VERY little hollandaise - plus a good scone.

Have fun, DR George!  I'm almost through Season 4 and getting bored with it; these last episodes are really coy and too cute.

I think after all of the happy LARK RISERS I'll watch THE DEVIL'S WHORE as an antidote.

Cool. The library's placed an order for Pasolini's Trilogy of Life films of the Decameron, the Canterbury Tales and the Arabian Nights. I've never seen any of them. I hear they're more fun than great, but so what?

I went to the cable-tv "store" to switch DVRs.  I got it home, hooked it up and there was no audio!  I called and was told what to do in the "settings" area.   It's working now.

Today I am participating in a reading of a new play although Judi Dench and Ben Wishaw are not participating.

'Of course that's how it begins: a harmless fairy tale to pass the hours'
When Alice Liddell Hargreaves met Peter Llewelyn Davies at the opening of a Lewis Carroll exhibition in 1932, the original Alice in Wonderland came face to face with the original Peter Pan. In John Logan’s remarkable new play, enchantment and reality collide as this brief encounter lays bare the lives of these two extraordinary characters. This is the new play from Academy Award winning screenwriter and playwright John Logan. His previous play RED played in London to great acclaim before transferring to Broadway where it won 6 Tony Awards including Best New Play.

I am reading the role of Peter Llewelyn Davies (Peter Pan)

I tried to get a ticket for this when I was in London but it was sold out.  The woman at the TKTS booth told me that people were waiting hours before the box office opened for cancellations.

Sorry to hear about Julie Harris.  I remember her so well in Member of the Wedding (the movie!)

They are very strange. CANTERBURY TALES may be the crudest and ARABIAN NIGHTS the most visually beautiful.

When I first came to New York, there was a revival theatre at 95th and Broadway, the Thalia, where I first saw THE FIRST NUDIE MUSICAL.  I saw all of the Trilogy of Life films there, along with Pasolini's SALO, TEOREM, MEDEA, and THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO ST MATTHEW, all of John Waters' films, and several other fascinating films including the wonderful Alec Guinness film, THE HORSE'S MOUTH.

Looks like Geoffrey Rush is going to star in a film of "The Drowsy Chaperone"

I hope they  have  Danny Burstein reprise his role as Aldolpho

DR Sandra and Wae-Ling are watching "The Princess Bride," which Wae-Ling has never seen.  The princess has been kidnapped and was almost eaten by the Shrieking Eels.

We love this movie at our house!
