The latest edition of The Broadway Radio Show is now up on this here website for your consumption.....it's a real departure from our normal shows....there is no music this time, instead I am interviewing author Robert A. Schanke about his newest book Queer Theatre And The Legacy Of Cal Yeomans.   It's a fascinating biography about forgotten, edgy, gay playwright Cal Yeomans and the emergence of gay theatre in San Francisco and New York; so, if you have any interest in that subject, I highly recommend you give it a listen and also think about picking up the book on Amazon.  Enjoy!

Today I am participating in a reading of a new play although Judi Dench and Ben Wishaw are not participating.

'Of course that's how it begins: a harmless fairy tale to pass the hours'
When Alice Liddell Hargreaves met Peter Llewelyn Davies at the opening of a Lewis Carroll exhibition in 1932, the original Alice in Wonderland came face to face with the original Peter Pan. In John Logan’s remarkable new play, enchantment and reality collide as this brief encounter lays bare the lives of these two extraordinary characters. This is the new play from Academy Award winning screenwriter and playwright John Logan. His previous play RED played in London to great acclaim before transferring to Broadway where it won 6 Tony Awards including Best New Play.

I am reading the role of Peter Llewelyn Davies (Peter Pan)

Yesterday, we celebrated my Mother/in/laws birthday and also Sis/in Law's.

We went to the Longhorn, a restaurant that specializes in steaks.

I had strip steak, mashed potatoes, vegetable medley, cheesecake, and a few blue lights.
(My favorite beer).  I love beer! (in moderation of course).

The meal was fantastic.

Then we came to our house .  All and all a great time spent with my hubby's family.

Looks like Geoffrey Rush is going to star in a film of "The Drowsy Chaperone"

http://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Geoffrey-Rush-to-Star-in-Film-Version-of-THE-DROWSY-CHAPERONE-20110914

This is from 2011....is the project still on?

I dunno. That's the first I'd heard of it. Sorry I didn't read the date.

On imdb.com, it's listed as "in development."

It's kinda weird to see the Associated Press obit of Julie Harris and read the words "the late drama critic Michael Kuchwara contributed to this report."

I know that news agencies write obits of famous people long before they die, but I don't know how many readers do. It makes it sound as if they contacted him via seance or something. (Plus, it's against AP style to use the phrase "the late.")

I'm up - I got exactly eight hours of sleep.  Was hoping for nine or ten, but not to be today unless I fall asleep later whilst watching a motion picture.

Greetings, BK and DR's all,

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone's been having a good week. I've been lost in too much travel and too many less than satisfying rehearsals, with a corporate event or two thrown in for some extra insanity (and cash). More reheasal and travel to LA for me this day.

Someone please have a lazy Sunday for me.  Thanks! :D

BK, you said the onion rings at Umami were not deep fried.  How are they cooked?

Sunday afternoon greetings!  Another lazy Sunday for us.  I slept late and Richard even later.  He's still suffering with allergies and his cough is keeping him awake at night.

DR Sandra and Wae-Ling are watching "The Princess Bride," which Wae-Ling has never seen.  The princess has been kidnapped and was almost eaten by the Shrieking Eels.

We are still waiting for The Big Rain.

I hope you get. We had a short rain last night. It stirred up a lot of mold. I can barely breathe today.

Yeah, I don't like soy sauce either. Too much of it is genetically modified.
