Well, you've read the notes, the notes had love and life, and now it is time for you to post until the loving cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: HACHURE!
-
BK, interesting notes (as always). I know it's not Wednesday yet, but here's a question...I wonder if you have many (any?) more "outtakes" from your Benjamin Kritzer books? Could any of those be expanded/worked into short stories? Random vignettes of Benjamin's life? Just a thought. :)
-
And now, to bed.
-
I've thought about doing a Kritzer short story book - who knows? The story Maddie, in How To Write A Dirty Book and Other Stories is essentially a Kritzer story.
-
I have nothing to say, either.
-
Great Notes!!!
-
TOD
I think the very first concept album I ever got without knowing it was a concept album was a musical version of Tom Jones. It was during the time I was collecting cast albums.
I know loner remember anything about it and it still might be packed away.

Good morning!
We were away at our annunal ICON weekedn this past weekdn and I was still too tired yesterday. I worked a few hours and then came home and slept and slept.
-
Morning Deb.
-
We met Sean Astin who seemd like a nice regular guy. He was very intersting to listen to. I will post a picture of the Vixter with him a little later I don't have time to retrieve it from the camera now as I have to get ready for work
-
TOD:
Jesus Christ Superstar
Chess
-
great notes!
-
Does Liz Callaway's Loesser album count as a concept album?
-
I'm hoping today will be a (relatively) normal day tax-wise, allowing me to check in both here and on All that Chat from time to time.
We had a tax-office rush because of the many Passover-observant clients who very logically and understandably needed to have their returns or extensions by today or at the very latest early tomorrow. For the observant Jews, Wed. night into Friday night are observant days of Passover, then Shabbos until Saturday night, no one works on Sunday in the "real world," which would have left only Monday and Tuesday (which everyone agreed was cutting things too close for getting work to clients for the Wednesday April 15 deadline). For anyone keeping track, Tuesday night the 14th to Thurs the 16th are again holy days for the Passover-observant.
-
Interesting and lovely story in the notes.
-
Rimsky Corsakoff used to live down the street from me.
-
Tuesday morning greetings! I'm off to Dayton today for 2 meetings with my grantwriter friends.
My mom and I scratched our trip to Columbus, Indiana, because of the wintery weather. We were supposed to drive over there this evening and spend a couple of days with my niece who's been there since Saturday with the Illinois State University women's golf team. Laura (my niece) and I decided that it's going to be too cold tomorrow to have my mom out and about seeing unique architecture.
-
I do not like concept albums because there have been so many that didn't work....but:
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
-
We have a cast for KISS ME KATE.....so many people should have just stayed home.
-
TOD:
SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND
JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR
EVITA
PET SOUNDS (Beach Boys)
THE NAKED CARMEN
RED, HOT AND BLUE (the Cole Porter AIDS Benefit recording)
REI MOMO (David Byrne)
AMERICAN IDIOT (Green Day)
The concept of a "Concept" recording sometimes confuses me. I tend to define it as a recoding that's built right from the go-get around an solidifying/unifying idea. But would that include the decision to make an album dedicated to a certain artist or musical style, like Bete Midler singing the hits of Peggy Lee or Willie Nelson singing standards? Can you say that Paul Simon's GRACELAND is a concept album? How about comedy albums like Lily Tomlin's MODERN SCREAM or jsut about anything done by The Firesign Theatre?
I'll be very interested in everyone's concepts of "Concept".
-
There was also that Disney recoding that came out in the 80's about the same time as RED, HOT AND BLUE, but the name escapes me at the mo'. Tom Waits, James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, Buster Pointdexter and even Yma Sumac performed on it. It was a wonderfully whacky recording.
Just Found it on Amazon: STAY AWAKE (http://www.amazon.com/Stay-Awake-Various-Interpretations-Vintage/dp/B001UAGSQO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1239109448&sr=8-3) (though it looks like it's out of print...)

I did not like the last Cabaret, Too Cutesy. Maureen Brennan(she co-conceived the show) has a "look at me,I'm performing" attitude. I would like to know your opinion.
Next Year looks very promising

Condolences, DR Ginny! ::)

Yes DR GINNY it snowed A LOT during auditions, but none of the snow stayed on the ground.

To counteract the poppies, no doubt. :)

Good morning!
It's very nice outside but the temperatures have fallen as expected and we'll be lucky to see 50 today (it was 70 yesterday). Very cold tonight, below freezing! The weekend promises to be gorgeous after rain on Friday.

TNT - TRUST ME (season and likely series finale)
FX - RESCUE ME (season premiere)

I guess my favorite concept album is Judy Garland's THE LETTER.
-
Today I will be working on finshing up the Blu-ray of GIGI. I'm interested to watch the 1949 French version of the story (this predates Anita Loos' play based on Colette's story, I think). And the commentary should be interesting. It unfortunately does not include the gurgling Dr. Drew Casper, but he was featured in the documentary on the making of the movie.
-
Yes DR GINNY it snowed A LOT during auditions, but none of the snow stayed on the ground.
Well, now at least I don't feel like such a wuss for canceling the trip to Indiana with my mother.
-
I don't have anything I have to do today - which is very nice.
-
I got the remainder of Criterion's Blu-ray and DVD releases for the month yesterday, a big box containing four more discs. None of them come out until April 21st and most come out on the 28th, so there will be time to get to them all. That sci-fi set of 23 short films is three discs of more than 3 hours per disc of material. That's going to take at least two days to get through.
-
I don't have anything I have to do today - which is very nice.
Nor do I
-
Good morning, all! Very sad elegiac notes, BK!
I have more writing today on BABES, and I need sreriously to get back into the Loesser score and do the same for the piling up Jerome Moross materials.
I have no other news.
DRArnoldBrockman, Maureen Brennan is an old friend I haven't seen in years. I always thought she was wonderful.
-
Your notes brought a tear to my eye, BK.
-
I have nothing to say, either.
I doubt that.

Does anyone know where DR Ron Pulliam has been? I don't remeber reading his posts for several days. Either that or I am more tired than I realized. If so, my apologies, Ron.
I guess I am asking our Guests, since they are the only other people here.

Whoops! Well, I was the only one here.

I just saw the poster art for DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS. I guess it really doesn't matter if Pablo Schrieber can act the part!

Well, my morning internet surf is over and I guess I'll head down now, check the mail, and then get started on today's lunch preparation.

bk, loved the notes. Your stories are always amazing.
I'm awake.... I dreamed that I played "I Am What I Am" for John Barrowman in some concert thing, it was strange. The next dream was stranger as I was preparing to play a funeral (which I have to do this morning) and someone was suppose to sing a Jerry Herman song, and Jerry Herman was in attendance.
I think it's a Jerry Herman day.

What the heck? The new Big Cheese at the District Office is now sending forwarded stories. We don't pay him to do that.

DR Ben - I had not heard that news. I am thrilled! :D

Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And I believe I've satisfied my fix - as well as my curiosity - in regards to The Hominy Grill.

I had a loverly walk, and I think I shall buckle down like Winsocki and accomplish something.

I'm up, I'm up. I think I'll take a break from the long jog - orders to print and a few packages to attend to and I want to be to David at eleven and it's a thirty minute drive.

I have to stop and get some allergy pills - Ye Olde Allergies have really been coming on strong.

to piece together the brother/sister/girlfriend thing. Although not as early as DR MattH. But was anybody else as disturbed as i was of the opening scene with
little marie and the gun. I hope that part doesn't come true. Of all the scenes
i've watched on that show to me that was one of the most disturbing things they
have shown. The rest of the show was great though. Even though occasionally
things become apparent, i find that this is one show that goes off in so many

In other news I went on a theatre ticket buying binge this morning.
Actually, one show I had earlier. A friend has made a practice of getting the $10 tickets for the first preview of shows at The Roundabout. She got 4 tickets for The Philanthropist (starring Matthew Broderick). One of the four canceled and she offered me the ticket so this Friday I will see Matthew Broderick in the Christopher Hampton play, The Philanthropist (based on Moliere's The Misanthropist). When I was auditioning/acting I used a piece from the show for auditions. Now I shall see it acted (by MB) on the stage of the Selwyn (AKA the American Airlines) Theatre.
On Saturday I will see all three of the Norman Conquest plays at 11am, 3pm and 8pm
On Sunday at 2pm I will see Cynthia Nixon in Distracted (a play about a boy with ADD) and at 7pm I will see Accent on Youth, a revival of a 1934 play. This new production stars David Hyde Pierce
On Tuesday I will see the new translation of Schiller's play, Mary Stuart. It's an import from London.
So I am a busy boy. It takes my mind off the rat hole!
-
What the heck? The new Big Cheese at the District Office is now sending forwarded stories. We don't pay him to do that.
And now you'll have to?

DR Ben: :)
Selfishly looking forward to all the future theater reportage!

Just had a nobanza of lovely packages delivered to my desk. From Amazon, a couple of Marianne Faithfull CDs and from Kritzerland, ILLYA DARLING! Popping the latter into iTunes now...
...and voila!--the tune listing is there! The cover art may not be, but I've already swiped that from the Kritzerland site.

Good news about Vermont. :D
We can't even get basic protections for housing and employment here in Delaware. >:(
(To tell the truth, the bill keeps passing in the State Assembly, but when it goes to committee in the Senate, it goes to the Small Business Committee, and the chairman of said committee is staunchly against it, so he puts it aside and never even lets his own committee discuss the bill. Happens every year. The kicker is that the State Assembly is controlled by the Republicans, so it's passage there is due to the support of the Republicans. And the guy in the Senate who keeps blocking it in committee? Yep, typical topsy-turvey Delaware, he's a Democrat.)
(The good news is, same Senator put forward a bill in the Senate this year that would ban any form of gay marriage in Delaware. The Senate overwhelmingly voted against his bill. At least we're doing some things right.)

For any and all Whovians out there, the London Times Online (http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/tv_and_radio/article6022914.ece?token=null&offset=0&page=1) has a pretty good interview with Russel T. Davies and David Tennant.
And elsewhere, Davies has made it official: the Doctor's companion for the final two episodes will be Wilfred Mott, played by Bernard Cribbins. Making ol' Wilf the Doctor's oldest (chronologically) companion ever! (Not yet confirmed is Catherine Tate as Donna Noble, but the rumors are flying!)
-
As for the TOD:
Seargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
To which, this disc follows the same kind of "concert" format:
Caribou, by Elton John
And our own esteemed BK is guilty of introducting me to Rupert Holmes' Widescreen, thanks to his reissuing it on CD.
BK is also the guilty party behind A Broadway Love Story. I haven't decided if his sentences sould be consecutive or concurrent, but I'm leaning towards the concurrent thanks to the quodlibet "You're Just In Love" on BLS.
;D

Unwanted Facial Hair Department: I was watching either The Daily Show or Colbert last night when a commercial popped on about some new prescription cream to remove unwanted facial hair (for women). The dermatologist recommending the cream is the same lady who a) had no clue what my skin issue is and, b) equally had no clue as to what this weird growth on Zach's foot is. Caveat emptor.

And The Song Of The Day Is: ROUTE 66
But too many versions leave out the lyric
You'll like the aroma
Of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
I resent this, having been raised in Tulsa, as was Jason Graae, who informs us that Tulsa is A Slut spelled backwards. Had I only known!
Also, Susan Watson is from Tulsa.
-
I had some fun viewing this afternoon. I began by watching last night's CASTLE. It was an interesting case and I quite enjoyed not having to endure much of Susan Sullivan as the mother. Her part last night was just the right amount of her per episode that they should use.
-
Rest in peace, Jack Wrangler!
Jack Wrangler died? He was such a nice man!
I really am sorry to hear about his death. He was always friendly, and I hadn't run into him in several years. My last memory is seeing him on Seventh Avenue around 48th Street. When I worked with Margaret Whiting for the "Wall-to-Wall Loesser" in 1998, she seemed very dependent upon him.
-
I also sped through yesterday's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Nothing of interest, but the boys were in today's episode which I haven't gotten to yet. I'll see it later today.
-
I spent the remainder of the afternoon watching the rest of the bonus features on GIGI.
I began with Jeanie Basinger's audio commentary. Not all that well organized but it was scene specific and occasionally she was joined by Leslie Caron's previously recorded comments.
-
Next I watched the 1949 version of GIGI. How interesting to watch the same familiar scenes played by a completely different cast and without those marvelous songs. Of course, without those, it ran a brisk 82 minutes. Much more a drawing room comedy in this version with precious little spectacle (though they did visit the Ice Palace just as in the musical version.)
-
Then I watched the short THE MILKLION DOLLAR NICKEL, a 1952 short subject made in the midst of the Cold War admonishing Americans to use the five cent air mail stamp to send letters to Europe and Asia to combat the propoganda being spread there about how bad life was in America. Four foreign-born MGM stars asked in their own native tongues for people to write letters: Pier Angeli, Ricardo Montalban, Zaa Zaa Gabor, and Leslie Caron (which, I suppose, is why this short was included on the disc).
-
The trailer was on the disc, too, made after the film had opened in NYC at a legitimate theater rather than at a regular movie theater. Quite a difference in color between that faded trailer and the popping colors in the new remaster.
-
The last bonus was a Tom & Jerry cartoon in Cinemascope - THE VANISHING DUCK. It wasn't particularly amusing.
-
TOD - the one and only time I've been to Academy Records on 18th St. in NYC, DR Elmore found for me a copy of the Ragtime recording that was made before the show opened on Broadway. Is that a concept album?
I believe it is a recording of the Toronto cast, although it is called "Songs from". But it is worth having just for "The Show Biz", which was cut from the show.
-

And at the rate you're going, I'm sure you'll be listening to it. Sometime in 2012. ;)

My curmudgeon rant of the day:
My mail has not arrived before 4:30 in the afternoon for the past few months EXCEPT on days that I want to mail something out at noon in which case the postman has already been here!!!!!! >:( :( :P :-\
Oh well, may that be my biggest problem today. 8)

Sad about Mr. Wrangler. The documentary about him is very good: JACK WRANGLER: ANATOMY OF AN ICON.
-
I see that NBC has moved the low-rated KINGS from Sundays to Saturdays to burn off its remaining episodes.
The network couldn't buy a hit show. I would HATE to have a show premiering on the network at this time in its history.
-
I'm jumping off-line now to finish writing up GIGI.
Then, I'll head back down for some fun viewing this evening.
WBBL.

It was an album made before the show was finally mounted so there are major differences in some numbers between the recording and what ended up on stage. It iasn't technically a cast album but it does employ the workshop cast.

Good Afternoon!
Well... I decided to head out for a bit, mainly to get out of the office just to get some fresh air. I figured I might as well drive across the Ravenel Bridge, and wander around a bit before heading back for tonight's rehearsal. Well...
As I left the parking lot, I thought I heard a knocking sound coming from somewhere on the passenger side of the car. It only got louder as I approached the bridge. However, once I was on the bridge and driving at speed (55mph - which is strictly enforced here), the sound disappeared. That was until I took the exit for Meeting Street. As I slowed down the knocking "appeared" again, and got louder and to the point where I could feel it in the floorboards. Most definitely not a good thing. So, I turned around as soon as I was able to, and headed back to the theatre. -And, yes ,the knocking continued.
Our Bialystock actually does work on cars, and I'll see if he can take the car for a drive around the parking lot before or after rehearsal, just to make sure it's "safe". It could just be something off-balance, or maybe a piston, or... However, I sense it may have something to do with one of the tire's ball and/or CV joints, and, if so, I definitely don't and won't feel safe driving back to the apartment tonight - especially since I have to be on the highway for part of that drive. Hmm...

And if you listen carefully - and look at the fine print in the booklet for the Original Broadway Cast Recording - you will notice that Audra McDonald's opening number, "Your Daddy's Son", as well as the duet, "Wheels Of A Dream", were ported over from the Toronto Cast/Studio recording.

...And it would have been quite interesting to see what stories would be out there right now had Camille Saviola stayed on as Emma Goldman. ;)

It's the theatre's company car. So... Just waiting for some of the staff to come back from dinner to see exactly how to proceed.

Hmm...
Are you sure it's not last night's date trying to get out of the trunk?
-

DR ARNOLD BROCKMAN
How was the final cabaret show of the season?
And who do they have lined up for next year!
+
I did not like the last Cabaret, Too Cutesy. Maureen Brennan(she co-conceived the show) has a "look at me,I'm performing" attitude. I would like to know your opinion.
Next Year looks very promising
WILL & ANTHONY NUNZIATA(have you ever heard of them?)
TONY DANZA
CHRISTINE ANDREAS
ADAM PASCAL
and the special Show- CHRISTINE EBERSOLE
I have not heard of WILL & ANTHONY NUNZIATA. But...... http://www.willandanthony.com/ (http://www.willandanthony.com/)
I am not sure how well Adam Pascal will go over with the crowd at the Crest. Adam Who? He was in Aida? What was Aida?
I really don't want to see Christine Ebersole again. I liked her but not enough to see her again a year later. If I don't have to get tickets to her show I won't.
CHRISTINE ANDREAS is spectacular and I would see her again. I saw her at the Colony in West Palm a few tears ago.
Which leads us to Tony Danza....
Now it will behoove us to see who will be here next year as some people always drop out. Sammy Williams was supposed to be here this year and was so was Jerry Lanning doing the Harnick show,
Mark Keller who produces these shows also put together the Harnick Show.
Are they having problems getting the big name people?

Another one to report....actor Jody McCrea (son of Joel McCrea and Frances Dee) died of cardiac arrest on April 4th at age 74.
Here he is in one of the many "Beach Party" films of the 60s.

Bud Shank lived in Port Townsend for the past several years and had a great Jazz Festival in the summer there every year. Port Townsend is where I managed to find the two Jonathan & Darlene Edwards CDs in a little CD store after having looked for them for years all over the place.

I certainly see a Ron Pulliam and yet I see no posts from Ron Pulliam, although I see PLENTY of posts from Ron Pulliam at a film score site. Go know.

Ben - I am looking forward to your theatre reports!

Might I just say page FIVE? There, I've said it and I'm glad. And I find it perplexing that Mr. Pulliam was here reading posts, a couple of which were even about his errant and truantness and he didn't even bother to post a hello. What is WITH that? Someone write him and teach him the word DECORUM.

At long last page six.

I gotta tell you.

We saw Camille Saviola's final performance in Ragtime (which was the final performance of that Toronto engagement). It had seemed odd when she threw her hat into the audience at the end.

Well, according to the article Jose linked, South Pacific opened on April 7th, 1949, at the Majestic.

Bruce, I had expected to read someone resembling Esther, at least my memory of her through you. When I first met you I remember you talking about her and your sadness over the breakup.
-
It was a difficult decision to leave Esther out of the book, but when I knew the story I had to tell was going to be that of the character Samantha Gilman there was no way to do it. I'd had an inkling early on in Kritzer Time about the Samantha character, who is based on a real life person - the book is dedicated to her memory - and I really didn't know if I wanted me or the book to go there, but in the end I simply had to. Those who've read the book know why that was such a difficult decision, but the book and the series would not be what it was without Samantha.

A funny thing happenend on the way to decorum
-
Did Pulliam have a tiff with someone? Did I miss it? Or is he just on one of his "sabbaticals?"
-
I've an early morn tomorrow. Hasta (he said, wussburgering).

Will we be to page seven by seven? Seems doubtful, especially with so many WUSSBURGERS and errant and truant people.

I find it shocking and sad a student dormitory built about 30 years ago should collapse from a 6.3 earthquake. Neither was the hospital built with earthquakes in mind, and it was built only 15 years ago.
-
Oy, what a day. I have a number of annoying emails/phone calls, plus I have spent the last two hours poring over and comparing the Keyboard and Conductor's books for The Producers, to see who is going to do what, and also to prepare my Key II player for the two days she needs to step into my shoes when Gabe is Bar Mitzvah'd. Now I have a choir rehearsal since I will be Sedering tomorrow, the normal choir rehearsal day.

I'm at The King and I rehearsal awaiting the arrival of the choreographer to work on "The Small House of Uncle Thomas" and other various and sundry things this evening.

Probably, the contract. ;)
-
I'm going home. Earlier today, I called to make an appointment to have my taxes done (finally...I'm such a procrastinator ::)) and they had a cancellation for tomorrow. That's quick, otherwise, it would've been next Tuesday. So...tonight, I will be making sure that I have all the necessary documents.
And before I actually go home, some friends have gone on vacation and asked if I would feed their pets. I said that I would and I did last night (after they called asking how their pets were...Ooops!) Anyway, I didn't forget tonight and they're coming home tomorrow.
Until later!

Well, the demand hasn't been there, really. Once we determine the number of the limited edition, it really can't be changed. I'm not going to sit and guess if an extra 500 people might want one of the titles - a) it costs more to do 1500 than 1000, significantly so, b) as soon as you say 1500, people get lazy and think they've got all the time in the world and you don't sell as many upfront and on these titles I've got to move them quickly to cover the costs. The profit margin isn't very big but it helps fund other projects and keeps us going.
-
We're still going to be on page six by eight o'clock?

Easy enough to do without a reminder, and one of the reasons when we travel we have pet sitters who stay at the house & with our pets being their main focus.

You Two are really Good, Kind and Loving people
-
Had a fun evening of viewing. I began by watching THE PRINCE & THE PAUPER starring Mickey Mouse. Didn't I just watch this yesterday? Yep, but in the DVD I reviewed yesterday, Disney framed it at 1.33:1 and in the Disney tin of a few years ago, it was framed at 1.66:1 and anamorphically enhanced. Anyone who says this doesn't make a hell of a difference in one's perceptions about a movie need only compare these two encodes of the same movie to see what a difference it makes. As a widescreen feature, it seems like a REAL movie, not like an episode of a TV program. (It was made to be shown with THE RESCUERS DOWN UNDER in theaters.)
I guess Disney framed it at 1.33:1 for the new release so it would pair nicely with the other four shorts on the disc which were all 1.33:1. For me, that's not a good reason.
-
I've watched THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW YORK, and I'm going to bed.
-
Next, I watched GOODBYE, MY FANCY with Joan Crawford, Robert Young, and Frank Lovejoy. I've always had a soft spot for this movie, not just because of Joan Crawford but I also love Eve Arden in it (in Shirley Booth's Tony-winning role).
The Warner Archive encoding is just like the one for THIS WOMAN IS DANGEROUS. Sharp with a nice looking black and white picture, but there are plenty of age related specks and the reel change markers are there. There was also one moment when the disc faltered momentarily, a little skip. I didn't check the disc to see if there was something on the disc or if that was just an encoding error. Otherwise, it looked fine.
-
After that, I watched tonight's NCIS. A pretty good case through when Abby is the focal point of an episode, those usually don't prove to be favorites. It was a pretty good mystery with a surprise villain that I should have figured out but didn't.
-
I enjoyed a good bit of THE MENTALIST, but it was a very easy case to figure out.
My biggest problem was the confession on the movie set in front of all of those people. That didn't ring true AT ALL.
-
Next, I watched AMERICAN IDOL. Well, I watched as much of IDOL as my DVR recorded which, sad to say, wasn't enough to see Adam Lambert's performance because the show ran way over. So I didn't see him at all.
Every year that they use the theme of singing a song from your birth year, it never turns out to be a good show. Tonight was no different. I thought they overpraised Danny (I heard several bum notes and honestly thought at one point that he must have been ill to be so off). Lil was the worst she's been; she's totally lost any momentum she had originally. My favorites were Allison and Matt of the singers I saw tonight. Maybe I will try to see if I can catch Adam's performance on-line.
-
Next, I watched FLASHPOPINT from last Friday night. It was a fairly heartbreaking story of friendship gone off the tracks. I had a lump in my throat at the end of the episode.
-
I concluded my evening with today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Yep, the boys were on, but I didn't find their story all that interesting. It's obvious what Damien is up to, and Zack and Zoe have already worn out their welcome for me. Nothing in the previews.
-
Good Evening!
Well... I guess I had to have a bad rehearsal sometime... :-\
*It really wasn't "bad", just frustrating. The "joys" of technologically-enhanced pit orchestras.
-
And before I actually go home, some friends have gone on vacation and asked if I would feed their pets. I said that I would and I did last night (after they called asking how their pets were...Ooops!) Anyway, I didn't forget tonight and they're coming home tomorrow.

Easy enough to do without a reminder, and one of the reasons when we travel we have pet sitters who stay at the house & with our pets being their main focus.
It's also one of the reasons I pay a cat sitter. That and Callie's need for meds
-
Oh...
And, yes, the CV joint on the front axel was about to give out. Our "Max" said that it would be OK until tomorrow, that I could drive it home, but just to be safe, we went ahead and dropped it off as his shop after tonight's rehearsal, and the stage manager drove me back to the apartment. -And will be picking me up tomorrow morning.
So, tomorrow, I will either get the car back, or the theatre will be renting a car for me for the rest of my stay here in Charleston.
-
Does anyone know who was left from the original cast?
Isn't that mentioned in the article? I thought it was.
-
I think I'm finished with my viewing for the evening. I'll write the notes soon, but for now I think I'll do some prep work for the next Kritzerland release.
-
I'm going to do a few computer related maintenance chores and then am heading down to bed.
Good night!
-
Well... I would post something, but...
Goodnight.
-
Oh, why post anything. Let's just shut the jernt down. It's ten o'clock, after all, and no one is here to play.
-
Well I could post that I just wrote my review of the BD of AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, but that wouldn't amount to much of a posting, would it?
-
I'm awake and home. Checking out the new arkiv music releases. Anyone have any thoughts?
-
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller.... Bueller..... Bueller?
-
I watched tonight's episode of "Fringe" (at 9:00 pm) and one of the guests was an actor named Erik Palladino. I'd seen him in shows over the years, but I recall that I'd seen him on "Reaper" just last month. And then I started watching tonight's episode of "Cupid" (that started at 10:00 pm) and he was on that, also! He's the guest on two different shows on the same night. I looked up his IMDb listing (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005292/) and he was also on "Private Practice" just a couple of months ago.
Four guest spots in two months...he's getting around. ;)
-
JMK, did your opinion differ from MattH's? I've been buying the odd Blu-Ray disc and I suspect I'll be getting a player sooner than later.
-
And before I actually go home, some friends have gone on vacation and asked if I would feed their pets. I said that I would and I did last night (after they called asking how their pets were...Ooops!) Anyway, I didn't forget tonight and they're coming home tomorrow.

Well, my friends said that they'd call me yesterday to remind me and they didn't until later in the evening, but they were only going to be gone a few days, so it wasn't that necessary for me to stay at their place. They will be back tomorrow. But I did forget to write myself a note.
-
Listening to what will be the next Kritzerland release. I'm actually quite fond of it, although I'd never heard it before the opportunity came up to do it.
-
I've slipped into a bad habit of taking a nap when I get home. Then I get up, watch TV, do some stuff, and now it's late again.
This is not how my evenings should be.
-
Oh I did listen to Illya Darling. I have to listen again tomarrow before 8PM when I can turn up the volume. It's really fun.
-
The guy that lives next to me (the good side of the building) works on the lot at Sony Pictures (old MGM lot ?) and goes to sleep at 8:30PM. Leaves before the sun comes up. So I try to be quite.
-
must now read post.

Must say goodnight. Till Wednesday afternoon.
