Well, you've read the notes, the notes were toasted, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently eating an English MOOfin.

BK, I have a question about your book.  I can't remember if you said, but how far into your life do you plan to take the book?  Are you going to go all the way to the present or will you just cover a certain time frame?

Morning all.

We went to Finian's again last night and it was just as wonderful as the first time. Kate Baldwin is radiant, Christopher Fitzgerald is hysterical, Cheyenne Jackson is wonderful, Jim Norton is great, Terri White is phenomenal, the score is beautifully rendered and the dancing is gorgeous!

If Leno does THE TONIGHT SHOW at 11:35, can NBC still call it THE TONIGHT SHOW?

If so, wouldn't they have to pay O'Brien the $40 million penalty (or whatever the amount is)?

Oh, god, no lamer controversy now exists. Neither of them is worth what they get paid, but take the money and run, you idiots. It's not like this is the cure for cancer or anything.

Good morning!

I had my first walk this morning outside in the fresh air for the first time in exactly a week. So glorious to get a good half hour of fresh air. And I didn't get nearly as tired as I was expecting. I guess doing the treadmill during the past week helped keep me kind of in shape.

I've heard no UPS delivery thus far this morning, so I'm assuming SURROGATES once again didn't come (or FAME for that matter), and thus I'll be working on the Blu-ray of CHE this afternoon and evening. Since it's basically written up already, it'll be an easy day of work.

I did not like LAST ACTION HERO much at all when I saw it in the theaters back in, what, 1993? Overblown and underwhelming as I recall. I might feel differently about it now after 17 or so years, but I did not like it then.

TV notes:

Fans of LEVERAGE, I believe the show has a new episode on tonight at 10 on TNT.

Of course, most shows have new episodes up tonight. There is a new MODERN FAMILY at 9 (and a rerun at 8 ).

Don't forget that UGLY BETTY has moved to Wednesday nights at 10.

I dread even thinking about doing mine. I haven't bought my tax software yet, but as usual, I won't actually sit down to do them until late March once I'm sure I have all of the tax forms which my brokerage is always late in sending updated information.

I do know that this year, I'll take TWO days to enter data rather than sitting at this desk for 5 or 6 hours entering all of those buys and sells for short term and long term listings.

My favorite part of the movie was when school teacher Joan Plowright explains to her students that Laurence Olivier was best known for doing CLASH OF THE TITANS and Polaroid commercials.

It's nice to watch part of THE VIRGINIAN everyday.  Since it was a 90 minute show - there are lots of scenes of the mountains and of the guys riding around to fill up the time....but it looks good.

Yesterday Trampas joined the Rough Riders to fight with Teddy Roosevelt in Cuba.....Steve tried to talk him out of it.  Hilarity followed.

Good morning, all! The neighbor above me with the barking dog woke me from a nice sleep around 1:15, from the sound of his squeaking bed while he and whomever had sex until around 1:45, then he/she/they got out of bed and walked around for another 15-30 minutes. I am not amused.

I've been up since 8 this morning burning CDs , but I'd wanted to be moving by 6:30, so I lost 90 minutes this morning because of him. No, I am not amused.

And then to learn that the FINIAN'S RAINBOW move is definitely off was another unhappy bit of news. So far, it's not been a good day.

DR Elmore - sorry to add to your dismal morning:

Jeanne Stephenson (http://www.legacy.com/middletown/Obituaries.asp?Page=Lifestory&PersonId=138513998)

Jeanne was Vera Charles in our infamous production of Auntie Mame and the mother of one of our Peppermint Patties.  One of her retirement jobs was the weekend "free sample" lady at Kroger.  I will miss her smile and twinkly eyes.

I hope your day gets better, DR Elmore.

Thank you, DR Laura; the neighbor above me is now movng about his apartment so I guess the two of them decided it was time to get out of bed. I see the jerk got over eight hours of sleep. Wish I had.

DR Ginny, the news about Jeanne is sad; I liked her very much. She had a lot of awful things to deal with in the 15 years I knew her: her husband died while having sex with his girlfriend who had to call Jeanne to surprise her with the bad news. I'm saving the even more scandalous doings for the memoirs. Through all of it, Jeanne was great about maintaining her sense of humor and graciousness. She was a really good lady and mother. I knew two of her children.

In actuality, anyone could have released Evening Primrose on DVD - if one had a decent master.  The show was, is, and always will be in the public domain - there was no copyright notice on the show, nor was one filed.  They're doing this in the same way we did the CD - the lawyers file a Quit Claim, the company indemnifies everyone, and that's that.  I'm sure this was done through Steve's lawyers, just as our deal was, and that probably has enabled them to get the Museum's print to use.  I've actually known this was happening for over a year.

PASSING STRANGE is slated to appear on selected PBS stations tonight as well. I was unimpressed with the clips from the show when it was up for the Best Musical Tony, but I may pop over and look at some of it at some point this evening once my work project is finished.

I'll be recording it.  It'll actually be showing in western Washington!

There's news on the Olympia production of The Brain From Planet X (http://www.washingtoncenter.org/calendar/calendar_detail.asp?event_id=1160)!  I just got an e-mail from Josh, our director/music director with a tentative schedule and we start rehearsal on Monday, March 15!  We open on April 29 and play through May 15!

Exciting news!!! :D :D

Because of my accident the chances of my seeing the show are very, very slim. :(

 :'(

Don't worry about it, Jane!  Just take good care of yourself. :)

There was talk of one, so...

However, since The Met has just released their HD Cenerentola - hope springs eternal.... Alas, it does look like the previous release of the Netherlands production is preventing The Met's production from being publicly released as part of their HD series.

Looks like a company called

E1 Entertainment (http://www.e1homevideo.com/Catalog.aspx?Category=-2)

will be releasing a legal copy of Evening Primrose on DVD

Go to Page 3 of the screen to see the information. There is not much but it looks like it will be out in April

I hope this comes to pass. It'd be great to see it being so familiar with the music.

Then I watched CHE on Blu-ray. The RED high definition camera was used to photograph both parts of CHE, and it didn't mwork out so great for part I because the anamorphic lenses don't have very deep focus, and important people in the frame always seemed to be slightly out of focus. Part II, shot with spherical lenses, looks much better even though they desaturated the color for part II so it looks drab, but that mirrors the very depressing story they're felling of Che's downfall.

Most of the bonus features were in 1080p though two of the documentary/interviews were in 1080i.

Anyway, all I have to do is write up my impressions of the video and audio, amend the bonus features to reflect the HD quality of the offerings, and I'll be done with CHE.

I had to run over to Staples to pick up a libretto I'd left for binding on my way downtown earlier. The young lady asked my name, rooted through a pile of completed work, checked the computer, asked me to spell my name, and then she walked back to the place she first looked, picked up an envelope and handed the finished job to me!

What the hell?

tanning beds also cause skin cancer.  i would write in the contract that it must be removed.

I was just looking at the listing photo for that room trying to figure that out, LOL.  I think we could just scoot the pool table over toward the fireplace, or even put it lengthwise so that there would be room for the piano next to it.  All of this said, it occurred to me today that this is the level with the kids' bedrooms and it may not be workable to have my piano down there.  We shall see.

My license plates came in today.  I must say I was worried about what the letters and numbers would be.  I'm a little wacky sometimes about reading initials and having them mean something nice, and I really hate the letters Z and X because I can get nothing good out of them.  I knew the first number would be a six, and I was hoping somehow the numbers would add up to or include my lucky number.  Well, I hit the jackpot - first off, the letters are incredibly great KST - which, in my interpretation would mean Kimmel Success Terrific or Kimmel Shall Triumph.  You could also substitute Kritzerland for the K if you were so inclined.  Either way, that makes me feel very positive.  The first number (pre letters) was indeed six, and the three numbers that follow the initials add up to - my lucky number - exactly.  I couldn't believe it.  Just perfect.

After our errands and lunch, I took a 2-hour nap in my recliner and felt much better afterwards.  I'd talked with my mother earlier and learned that, thankfully, she had slept quite well last night.  She sounded more chipper after her moving day than I felt.

Anyway, I've now removed all the ornaments from our Christmas tree and packed them away.  Now all we have to do is disassemble the tree and take the garlands off the front porch rail.  We should be able to do the latter in the next several days when the snow melts from them.

Richard and I ordered our wedding cake today.  Well, an approximation of the cake from our wedding 29 years ago this coming Sunday.  It'll be a sheet cake, but the lady at Central Pastry has a photo of the original (also made by CP) and will create decor that resembles our tiered cake.  We're providing the refreshments for coffee hour following Sunday's service in Lima.  Since it's our actual anniversary, I'm also taking some wedding photos and a supply of the engraved napkins leftover from our reception.  We thought our new friends in Lima would get a kick out of some Palmer family history.

What a charming way to celebrate.  i'm sure your new friends will appreciate.  what kind of cake did you order?

DR Jane - we ordered a half-sheet, half white and half chocolate cake.

And, of course, DR JRand, I'll take some pictures!

My license plate has PWK in it.  My mother looked at it and said "Puke!  Your license plate says Puke!!" I told her it was a "w" but she was too busy laughing

That is funny!  I think the first thing that I would've thought of is Michele PaWK.

Contrary to popular rumor, I have not fallen off the face of the earth, been kidnapped by gypsies or run away and joined the Foreign Legion…

Fourteen months ago I had my work hours reduced and was in fear of losing my job.

So far in the past 13 days, in the middle of a recession and a real estate market that is reportedly dead and an era of “tight money” our little law firm closed more loans than we closed in all of October and November 2008.

I should be dancing for joy, but being the miserable, whining, whiney thing that I am,  I am grouchy and grumbly and miserable about day after day of 11 – 14 hour work days with  no breaks (unless you count a quick run to the ladies or a few bites of sandwich between phone calls)

So while I love and miss you all I just have not been able to face sitting in front of a computer for another second once I get home.

I have been listening quite a bit to Love With a Perfect Stranger as I have discovered that I can play cds on my new work computer without stalling the system.

So what’s new with all of you??

We are leaning toward accepting the counter, but with the caveat that all the "extras" in the house are included, meaning the two HDTV's, the appliances (new refrigerator and those cool front loading washer/dryer units), pool table & tanning bed.  Yes, there is a tanning bed.  ;)

can I come live with you?

I wish I had realized the IDOL was gonna be 1 hour and a half tonight. My tv picked it up. But I didn't know to tell others it was going long.

Although here it started at 7:30pm (Fox had it from 8-9:30pm).  Gosh at the end of the first half hour they showed a girl (a blonde country girl from Tennessee). For some reason her story made me so teary! I really like her.

I began my evening watching ROSALIE from the Warner Archive collection. What a mammoth musical it is! Thousands of extras, all those costumes and very elaborate sets! Wow!

And I think this is one of Nelson Eddy's more animated performances. Eleanor Powell does her own singing (one song) in this one, and it's a small, uncertain singing voice.

If I hadn't liked my license plate I already had a personalized one ready to get.  But I was lucky.  Another fun thing is if you sound the letter together, KST, you get kissed and I intend to whenever I feel like it.

The second one was one of the show's infrequent efforts at a lighter, wackier story as the team steals a body from a wake and tries to figure out who killed the person since the coroner had ruled it a coronary. Really pushed the bounds of silliness with the episode, but I don't mind the show taking a detour every once in a while.

I came home from NY with a huge list of changes and just finished yesterday in time for a festival deadline. We hope to premiere the film at the Full Frame Festival, where we've premiered our last two films. I have never submitted a rough cut before, I don't really like sending anything out at that stage. But once I was able to submit to FF, the producer decided to submit the rough cut to a ton of festivals, So I ended up having to make 30 DVDs and send a bunch out to other festivals. Oh well..

One festival is in Portland and another in Seattle, so maybe I can get a trip or two out of it. I miss the pacific northwest!
