PASSING STRANGE is slated to appear on selected PBS stations tonight as well. I was unimpressed with the clips from the show when it was up for the Best Musical Tony, but I may pop over and look at some of it at some point this evening once my work project is finished.

I'll be recording it.  It'll actually be showing in western Washington!

There's news on the Olympia production of The Brain From Planet X!  I just got an e-mail from Josh, our director/music director with a tentative schedule and we start rehearsal on Monday, March 15!  We open on April 29 and play through May 15!

Exciting news!!! :D :D

Because of my accident the chances of my seeing the show are very, very slim. :(

 :'(

Don't worry about it, Jane!  Just take good care of yourself. :)

A most happy birthday to the beautiful TPunk, whose kitties will no doubt have a lovely surprise party for her.

Happy Birthday, Antonia!

I am still waiting for the Metropolitan version of DOCTOR ATOMIC on DVD.

JRand, are you sure that there is supposed to be one...or are you just hoping that there will be one?

There was talk of one, so...

However, since The Met has just released their HD Cenerentola - hope springs eternal.... Alas, it does look like the previous release of the Netherlands production is preventing The Met's production from being publicly released as part of their HD series.

We are leaning toward accepting the counter, but with the caveat that all the "extras" in the house are included, meaning the two HDTV's, the appliances (new refrigerator and those cool front loading washer/dryer units), pool table & tanning bed.  Yes, there is a tanning bed.  ;)

Looks like a company called

E1 Entertainment

will be releasing a legal copy of Evening Primrose on DVD

Go to Page 3 of the screen to see the information. There is not much but it looks like it will be out in April

I hope this comes to pass. It'd be great to see it being so familiar with the music.

Does the idiot who left the "unattended bag" get in trouble, especially as their stupidity impacted an awful lot of people?

Very beautiful outside, but still so very cold. Went out to get the mail, and there was a bitter chill in the air. Of course, I had on no jacket or ski cap or gloves like I did when I took my walk this morning, but it is still the depths of frigid here.

I watched an episode of BETTER OFF TED before I started cooking lunch. This was one where Veronica wanted the office intercom fixed, and hilarity came forth from such a simple premise.

While I ate lunch (spaghetti, by the way), I watched last night's NCIS: LA. Nice to see Kenneth Johnson in a guest star role, but the mystery wasn't very compelling and easy to solve.

Then I watched CHE on Blu-ray. The RED high definition camera was used to photograph both parts of CHE, and it didn't mwork out so great for part I because the anamorphic lenses don't have very deep focus, and important people in the frame always seemed to be slightly out of focus. Part II, shot with spherical lenses, looks much better even though they desaturated the color for part II so it looks drab, but that mirrors the very depressing story they're felling of Che's downfall.

Most of the bonus features were in 1080p though two of the documentary/interviews were in 1080i.

Anyway, all I have to do is write up my impressions of the video and audio, amend the bonus features to reflect the HD quality of the offerings, and I'll be done with CHE.

Neither SURROGATES not FAME came today, so unless they come tomorrow, I'll next be working on the DVD of PARIS TEXAS. Criterion is issuing it on Blu-ray, too, but, as usual, I'll do the DVD first.

I had time to skim though yesterday's OLTL. It was nice to see David Vickers back toying with various people, but I only stopped and watched a couple of his segments.

OLTL today did have Oliver, the super hunky Cristian, and now their new roommate, the model-gorgeous Ford. I'm guessing Ford will start to have feelings for Layla or she for him, and there will be another triangle in the apartment.

Vibes for DR KERRY.

DR GEORGE - what DR JOSE said.....the Netherlands DVD has completely different and less interesting staging IMO....so I am waiting....even though THAT Blu Ray is on sale for $26.99 at Amazon.
