And the word of the day is: GRANGERIZE!
Nothing on the viewing horizon.
On Sunday we will be going to Lehman College in the Bronx to see a production of The Wizard of Oz starring Antonia (AKA TPunk) as the Wicked Witch of the West!

DR Ben - please give TPunk a big "break a leg" hug from me!
Of course, you probably feel that way about 117 degrees, too.
Never go near Mobile, Ala., at the same time of year. It's the same, only with humidity. You can see the waves of moisture and heat wobble and stagnate about you.Of course, you probably feel that way about 117 degrees, too.
I've been in Phoenix in the middle of August. It was hell on earth. The street was so hot I could not stand in one place for any length of time because the heat from the sidewalk would transfer up through my sneakers and my feet got incredibly hot!
My friend Jim is in pain but he's up and walking slowly and on the mend after his heart attack. Many thanks for the vibes on his part.
Well the website is right in the logo...
I Kid You Not Department: Betsy managed to crash MSN on our computer due to keeping too many emails (she had thousands and thousands). The tech guy I reached ("Chuck," his stage name, probably really named Zqoiuf or something) was aghast. It's taken us a day and a half to restore everything. Betsy is down to a mere several hundred emails now.
Greetings from Jacksonville International Airport! We are all checked in and through security, but our flight is now delayed more than an hour. Fr. Richard could have stayed for a little more of this morning's meeting...
VCR: Good vibrations
Val Kilmer IS Moses...not!
We had a frosting of snow overnight in the South of Jersey--just enough to scrape the shovel along the pathway and sideway and to require sweeping off the car. Otherwise, it's sort of on the mild side. But we are suppose to plunge into the teens tonight and remain in the twenties for the coming week and unfortunately, we are not talking about our age here.
This morning Keith got me up out of bed (I was alternating between reading & dozing) to see a beautiful rainbow outside our bedroom window.
Val Kilmer IS Moses...not!
You're preaching to the choir, DR Ron Pulliam. ::)

The choir can just get over it! :D

And did Keith have THIS REACTION (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQSNhk5ICTI)?
;D
DR MBarnum are you going to drive to the gym from now on?
Also in that dream, I had great difficulty reaching police by dialing 911. First I kept dialing the wrong number, then the operator berated me, and then no 911 operators would answer or the call just wouldn't go through.I saw this on "The Simpsons" once. Bart, in a spoof of "Vertigo," dials 911. He gets a taped message and just starts hitting buttons. "You have selected regicide," the taped voice says back. "If you know the name of the monarch or royalty that has been killed, press 1 ..."
I think I have had this occur in dreams before, along with dreams where I am unable to dial a phone number correctly, over and over.
DR Jane, I will keep walking since I walk from work to the gym, then from the gym home. I don't drive ot work any longer.
It will start getting darker later, so then it won't seem as ominous a trek. But I should try to find a better lit route, in the meantime.

Had a kind of funny thing happen this morning. I went to visit one of my choir members, who had a devastating stroke in December. She's quite spry physically, able to move OK, but she can't really talk yet and even her writing is often confused. We sat and sang together, since music and lyrics are stored in a different part of the brain from language, and she was able to at least hum along. But she then picked up a piece of paper and wrote in a scrawl: NORSE MUSIC. I started laughing and asked her if she wanted me to bring Norse music, and she just started giggling hysterically, obviously that was not what she intended. The funny thing is, I just a couple of days ago got a new audio BD to review of the Norwegian choral group Ensemble 96 and I told her I could bring her a copy! Still not sure exactly what she was asking for. :)
Someone recently posted that he or she didn't know Gregory Harrison could sing. Found this on YouTube of his performance as Benjamin Stone in the "Follies" revival from a few years back:

I had a strange dream also. I dreamt I was late leaving to drive to California for a meeting, so I went to the airport ticket counter to buy a plane ticket so I could get there on time. Man, did they ever have a snotty attitude.

My scattered brain interpreted that as "more" music.
Nice story and I'm sure your visit was very beneficial physically & emotionally.

Did you take the beautiful photos in your back yard?
Some day I would love to reek of Genghis Cohen's Orange Chicken. I have heard so many wonderful things about the place that I just have to find a way to eat there in this lifetime.

Will do. We haven't seen her in ages. We're looking forward to seeing the show. It's a Childrens Theatre Production produced by
Riverdale Childrens Theatre (http://www.riverdaletheatre.org/Riverdale_Theatre/HOME_Riverdale_Childrens_Theatre_Bronx_NY.html)
located in the Bronx (or Riverdale as those residents who don't like to say they live in the Bronx call it ;))
It ain't no picnic.
I called my mom tonight...she said "It warmed up really nicely today. It's two below zero right now"
I have been in Phoenix when it was 123 degrees outside. I have been in -90 windchill. I didn't like either
I'd rather face that than anything below O.I have been in Phoenix when it was 123 degrees outside. I have been in -90 windchill. I didn't like either
Don't exaggerate. Our highest high was only 122.
;)
As for low temperatures...
It's supposed to get down to a low of 5 degrees on Sunday here in New York City - with a high of 17.
Layers. Lots and lot of layers.

I read the Little House books last year and got to "The Long Cold Winter," about days when it's 40 below all the time. I was so cold reading that book, and I was on the beach at the time.
Tonight is the series finale of MEDIUM. :(

Trouble is, I put on layer after layer and never get warm. Three layers on my feet tonight and they're freezing.I'd rather face that than anything below O.I have been in Phoenix when it was 123 degrees outside. I have been in -90 windchill. I didn't like either

Not me. You can always put lots of clothes on to stay warm. You can only take so many off to get cool
You will laugh at this TCB, but when I was a kid I always thought that once it snowed somewhere, it stayed until spring.

What are you in for.....Smoking in the boys room....
Beautiful, Laura.
Your photos are much sharper & prettier than mine.
Yes, Jane your photos are beautiful too! They are. I loved the clouds.
Media report - DVD: we just watched the first episode of a BBC series called NEW TRICKS. Richard loved it and I found it OK. Alun Armstrong, who played Threnardier in the 10th anniversary Les Mis, is in the cast.
Time to head home and get ready for the series finale of "Medium."
:P
Finally found something about the problem and the solution seems to be, as Cilla notes above, to restrart the computer. Sometimes if you're working a lot in Word and you don't restart, it saves up all sorts of things that eat up memory - when you restart apparently all those useless things go away and you start with fresh memory. It's just odd I've never had this problem on any Mac before.
