I called my mom tonight...she said  "It warmed up really nicely today.  It's two below zero right now"

Nothing on the viewing horizon.

On Sunday we will be going to Lehman College in the Bronx to see a production of The Wizard of Oz starring Antonia (AKA TPunk) as the Wicked Witch of the West!

DR Ben - please give TPunk a big "break a leg" hug from me!

Will do. We haven't seen her in ages. We're looking forward to seeing the show. It's a Childrens Theatre Production produced by

Riverdale Childrens Theatre

located in the Bronx (or Riverdale as those residents who don't like to say they live in the Bronx call it  ;))

Isn't Riverdale where Archie and Jughead and Betty and Veronica and Reggie live?

Well, if it was a picnic; at least you wouldn't have to worry about the ants.

I'm tired.  I've had to go in and out of the cold about 10 times today.  While I don't mind it in general, going in and out that much really takes a lot out of me.   It wasn't that bad outside.  I think it was 12 on my way home

I have been in Phoenix when it was 123 degrees outside.  I have been in -90 windchill.   I didn't like either

Don't exaggerate. Our highest high was only 122.

As for low temperatures...

It's supposed to get down to a low of 5 degrees on Sunday here in New York City - with a high of 17.

Layers. Lots and lot of layers.

During my first year of college in Ellensburg (Jed and Ann's hometown), the snow started falling on Veteran's Day weekend and the snow stayed on the ground (and increased) until sometime in March.  One night we hiked down to the movie theater in town and it was -12 degrees.  When we came out of the movie, we all noticed how warm it had gotten.  Sure enough, it had warmed up to zero.

You will laugh at this TCB, but when I was a kid I always thought that once it snowed somewhere, it stayed until spring.

Also in that dream, I had great difficulty reaching police by dialing 911. First I kept dialing the wrong number, then the operator berated me, and then no 911 operators would answer or the call just wouldn't go through.

I think I have had this occur in dreams before, along with dreams where I am unable to dial a phone number correctly, over and over.

Was elmore the operator?

The coldest I have walked in was -40.  I'm not sure of the hottest temps.  Chances are it was the summer we drove through Arizona & I didn't find it as bad as a hot humid day on the East Coast.

I read the Little House books last year and got to "The Long Cold Winter," about days when it's 40 below all the time. I was so cold reading that book, and I was on the beach at the time.

Some day I would love to reek of  Genghis Cohen's Orange Chicken.  I have heard so many wonderful things about the place that I just have to find a way to eat there in this lifetime.

Me, too!

I read it under my electric blanket. I felt guilty.

Someone recently posted that he or she didn't know Gregory Harrison could sing. Found this on YouTube of his performance as Benjamin Stone in the "Follies" revival from a few years back:

He was also in the original Broadway cast of STEEL PIER.

Not me.  You can always put lots of clothes on to stay warm. You can only take so many off to get cool
