And the word of the day is: PARALIPSIS!
Here's a look at the Amaretto Almond Delight Cake I made for a friend's birthday yesterday. It disappeared in minutes. I wish I had a leftover bite for breakfast. And a bite was all I had yesterday.
I liked the Anacin commercials that had the animated hammer beating on the lady's brain....and I think some lightning, too....and something else.....
I also loved Katy Winters and her Secret deodorant.......
Great-looking cake, John G!
I remember a commercial for Zest soap where they showed a person in a shower (from the shoulders up only ;)) and the shower door was cloudy from shower build-up. They ran their finger down the shower door to show how gunky it was. Then another person in a shower with much less shower build-up said that they used Zest soap because there was "less schmutz" left on the door after taking a shower. Does anyone else remember this?? I specifically remember them using the phrase "less schmutz" (I'm guessing on the spelling) in the commercial. I think that it might have been when my family lived in Colorado from '73-'76 and I have no idea if it was a national, regional or local commercial. Would the word "schmutz" be used in a commercial today?? ::)
It was a very frustrating day for running errands. I am now home and wet from the rain.I accomplished a few god things, but there were too many aggravating moments.
It's nice to be home.
DR Jane, my friend's wife seems fine with the situation. She's isn't the first wife of a friend who'scome out. DR Ginny and I know one teacher in Ohio who left his wife for another man and then dumped the man and moved back in with the wife! Just like Hollywood.
Oh, DR Jane, the wedding photos will be turning up for days and days!
Toronto? Really?

Oh, Elmore! You should have come with me today! The Monarch Scientist and I were checking out a spot on the river, and we found a milkweed tree! Butterflies galore! And lots of swell dragonflies, too! And a roadrunner -- always a good find!
I must have had a great morning! Every one of my sentences ends with an exclamation point!
I think it's a shame the newlyweds cannot live together until November.

Sounds more like a "soap" ;D
I'm glad she is fine. The women I've know to go through this have had a difficult time with it. One the man left after his mother died & then he came out. He didn't want to get divorced though & when she finally said she couldn't live like that he got mad.
The other was just mean. The man absconded with all their money & ran off with his best friend. After the fact she realized they had been planning it all along. It worked out fine in the end as she met a really great guy a few years later & is very happy.

This is the closest thing I've seen to a funniest home video from the wedding - a very tired bride and groom. Couple on the left are the best man and a bridesmaid:
This is turning into a most lousy and frustrating day!
A framed copy of that pic will make a nice 1st year anniversary gift, DR Ginny.
Big story on the 'dramatic readings' coming up this Sunday.....

There's more to human experience than some minds can ever imagine. When my friend Matthew came out and he and Myra split up, they remained friends, even after he moved from Boston to Brooklyn. When she died in the first plane to hit the World Trade Center, she still had Matthew as her beneficiary twenty-five years after the breakup.
Hello! I'm home after a harrowing drive from the airport. First, the traffic was bumper-to-bumper on the "beltway" because of an accident. Then after getting up to speed (almost) the torrential rain started. It took me an extra hour to get home. I'm enjoying the cool temperature, though. It's only 64 right now!
Here is the milkweed tree with queen butterflies:
DR George I remember the Zest commercial only not that the word schmutz was used.

I wonder if it was just a local commercial. I'm not even really sure that it was for Zest.

It sounds like a Zest commercial. I searched & found a few zest commercials on YouTube but not the one you mentioned.

I'm not going to take the blue skirt, but will wear the sparkly top with black pants on the cruise.
Lovely photos, Ginny. I think your blue ensemble is perfect! Very mother-of-the-groom/bride. Yes, perfect for your cruise, too. The blue is very flattering to you and the shade is classic.
Looking good, DR Ginny!
Good Evening!
Well... I ended up having a rather productive day. So productive, that there's only one thing on my "To Do" list for tomorrow. :)
Ah, DR Jane, thanks for the heads-up about wearing pants on formal nights. Since this is a river cruise, I'm thinking it'll be a little less formal, but will check to make sure...
I just came from Kroger and, yes, they had no bananas.
DR Ginny sure does look fabulous!

This is turning into a most lousy and frustrating day!
I have a very stupid question: what is TMZ?
Is it a tv network? All I know is that it involves Harvey Levin, and I'm wondering if it's the same Harvey Levin who used to intervuew people on the street on one of the afternoon "judge" programs.
Sam, here is a web site for Elvis starring Kurt Russell. He was really incredible in this film.

It's apparently "Fight Procrastination Day".
Hmm...
What was I doing?

Yeah...
Right...
Laters...

Did you get to see them, Cillaliz?

TMZ is a television show focusing on "stars" and those in the public eye. It's not a television network, it's just a show on Channel 5 (here in NYC) and yes, it's the same Harvey Levin who used to interview people standing outside for their opinions on The People's Court.
TMZ (http://www.tmz.com/) also has a Web site. Most of what's on the Web site appears on the television show as well.

Wow, you too?
It sounds like yours was too, DR cillaliz! I'm sorry to hear that.
Does anyone suffer from halitosis these days?
I still want one of these!

Not this year, Mom told me she saw some and a friend sent a photo. Mom said not as many at her house this year, but she thought they may be just starting. They are late this year

On our cruise I could not eat in the dinning room on one of the formal nights as I was wearing pants. It didn't matter that I was dressed better than most of the women who happened to be in line with me, wearing skirts they were permitted into the dining room.
DR Elmore, Richard, Rob, Mary Linda, and I all love CASTLE!
In the accumulated mail that Richard picked up at the PO today was the season brochure for our local symphony orchestra. Their first concert, on November 19, is a pops concert called "I Got Rhythm: Mickey and Judy's Hollywood" featuring Shauna Hicks and Jeff Harner. I believe Shauna is on some of BK's recordings, right?

The dining room would not allow you in on "formal" night? I have never heard of anything like that. I have seen guys in jeans allowed in to dinner on formal nights. What crusie line was this?

Hmmmmm... Amaretto Almond Delight Cake!More from amaretto glaze that soaks into the cake. But you could shots with it. Sure.
*Does the "Delight" come from the shot of Amaretto you drink with each slice? ;)
When I was talking to Paypal they told me that the Walmart had responded, and the case was still open. They don't need any further info from me at this time, but I told them if Walmart was trying to say the charge was legitimate, that I would sue them, because I had no less than ten conversations with them telling them the charges were bogus and not made by me, as I've never been in their STUPID city or store. So Paypal, who are very understanding, noted that in my record - they know it's ridiculous, which is why they haven't asked me to respond officially. All they'll really have to do is compare whatever signature was used to mine own - the tale will be told and then I will go after Walmart, right to the top of the corporate food chain and I will get people fired. I will not rest if they are trying to do anything other than what is right.
We're actually in really good shape, reservations-wise - there are already enough dinner reservations to just about fill all the tables and there are ten show reservations beyond that, and I know a few people who'll just show up.

Alas, a lot of states don't require a signature on credit card slips for certain amounts any more. In NYC, it used to any amount $10, but I think that limit has been raised. Even at Starbucks, they usually just ask if you'd like a copy of your receipt, not if you'd like to sign it. And I know that on the NJ Turnpike, a signature is only required on purchases over $20.

Looks like the book deal is happening. So, I have to write a book this all, take two grad classes, work full time, maintain the website to keep the advertisers happy and sleep. Going to be a busy fall.
Then I gave the final approval for the Nudie Musical packaging and master, and that's all getting sent where it needs to get sent.
