Well, you've read the notes, the notes had no evidence of dandruff, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently looking for evidence of dandruff.

Good morning, all! I have various errands to run today, none of which are exciting and several of which are plain irritating. It appears to bea rainy day as well, so that's doing nothing to cheer me up.

The idiot JC on the cast recording list has another overbearing twin, who's the lving and breathing prototype of "them what can't, teach." He's our own Miss Crabtree. My insecurities about being the biggest fool on that site are over.

DR George, Season One of RIZZOLI & ISLES is already for sale on DVD. This season they've practically removed Jordan Bridges from the cast roster and Colin Egglesfield has been in the last couple of episodes as Jordan's younger brother.

I have no more news for now.

As for the Topic of the Day...

Oh! Brylcreem! My Dad used to use that stuff all the time, as well as Alberto V05 Conditioning Hairdressing. -Actually, I think he still uses V05.

As for the disappearance of dandruff, well... It still exists, it still happens. However, the shampoo companies seem to concentrate more now on the cleaning and conditioning properties, rather than the "pesky" dandruff.

Well did you ever start something that should take about an hour.....and then 7 hours later, it's finally finished?

Well then I know EXACTLY how you feel.

I wanted to make bios/photos for the cast and staff for the lobby.....then it turns out that we don't have a monitor....just the television in the lobby, so I had to do a DVD slide show.....but of course I couldn't make one from Words documents, so I had to convert everything to JPEG....

I took the photos last night.....uploaded them and edited them....

I asked for SHORT bios from all......and some people decided to write their life stories.....so I had to edit and then write in WORD......add a photo, then dump them into PAINT and save as JPEGS....

Then of course my best slide show software is on the computer in the living room.....so I had to transfer everything to THAT computer....and

Seven and half hours later......I have my DVD.

This is sort of relevant to the topic of the day (more about the way products aren't marketed anymore than products themselves).  I posted this on April 6, 2005.  My memory is that it was a commercial for Zest soap, but (as usual) I could be completely wrong.  Anyway, here's what I remember:

Quote
I remember a commercial for Zest soap where they showed a person in a shower (from the shoulders up only ;)) and the shower door was cloudy from shower build-up.  They ran their finger down the shower door to show how gunky it was.  Then another person in a shower with much less shower build-up said that they used Zest soap because there was "less schmutz" left on the door after taking a shower.  Does anyone else remember this??  I specifically remember them using the phrase "less schmutz" (I'm guessing on the spelling) in the commercial.  I think that it might have been when my family lived in Colorado from '73-'76 and I have no idea if it was a national, regional or local commercial.  Would the word "schmutz" be used in a commercial today?? ::)

I'm glad she is fine.  The women I've know to go through this have had a difficult time with it.  One the man left after his mother died & then he came out.  He didn't want to get divorced though & when she finally said she couldn't live like that he got mad.

The other was just mean.  The man absconded with all their money & ran off with his best friend.  After the fact she realized they had been planning it all along.  It worked out fine in the end as she met a really great guy a few years later & is very happy.

DR George I remember the Zest commercial only not that the word schmutz was used.

I wonder if it was just a local commercial.  I'm not even really sure that it was for Zest.

It sounds like a Zest commercial.  I searched & found a few zest commercials on YouTube but not the one you mentioned.

On our cruise I could not eat in the dinning room on one of the formal nights as I was wearing pants.  It didn't matter that I was dressed better than most of the women who happened to be in line with me, wearing skirts they were permitted into the dining room.

TMZ is a television show focusing on "stars" and those in the public eye. It's not a television network, it's just a show on Channel 5 (here in NYC) and yes, it's the same Harvey Levin who used to interview people standing outside for their opinions on The People's Court.

TMZ (http://www.tmz.com/) also has a Web site. Most of what's on the Web site appears on the television show as well.

It's nice to be home.

Oh, Elmore! You should have come with me today! The Monarch Scientist and I were checking out a spot on the river, and we found a milkweed tree! Butterflies galore! And lots of swell dragonflies, too! And a roadrunner -- always a good find!

I must have had a great morning! Every one of my sentences ends with an exclamation point!

We did a pre-migration check of a spot I knew about from birding -- she had never seen it until I took her out there last spring to see if she thought it might be a good spot to check, and she was amazed. No monarchs today, but the habitat is perfect for their migration, so we will check it out.

From DR elmore:
Quote
DR Jane, my friend's wife seems fine with the situation. She's isn't the first wife of a friend who'scome out.  DR Ginny and I know one teacher in Ohio who left his wife for another man and then dumped the man and moved back in with the wife! Just like Hollywood.

Sounds more like a "soap" ;D

I'm glad she is fine.  The women I've know to go through this have had a difficult time with it.  One the man left after his mother died & then he came out.  He didn't want to get divorced though & when she finally said she couldn't live like that he got mad.

The other was just mean.  The man absconded with all their money & ran off with his best friend.  After the fact she realized they had been planning it all along.  It worked out fine in the end as she met a really great guy a few years later & is very happy.

There's more to human experience than some minds can ever imagine. When my friend Matthew came out and he and Myra split up, they remained friends, even after he moved from Boston to Brooklyn. When she died in the first plane to hit the World Trade Center, she still had Matthew as her beneficiary twenty-five years after the breakup.

Touchng story, elmore.

Princess.  Hmmm, could I have been wearing jeans?  I don't think so.  I thought because we were not in the formal dining rooms for meals, just the casual sit down anytime, we didn't have to dress in formal attire.  I know the women around me looked frumpy (not being critical, just stating fact, while I was dressed very nicely), none of us were dressed in formal clothes.

Good Evening!

One "side effect" of having a very productive day was that my energy level took a pretty big drop about halfway through the first act tonight. Thankfully, there's always a full pot of coffee brewing in the green room.

Wish I could go. Looks like I'm going to be chained to a desk or laptop or many months to come now.

Looks like the book deal is happening. So, I have to write a book this all, take two grad classes, work full time, maintain the website to keep the advertisers happy and sleep. Going to be a busy fall.

Hmmmmm... Amaretto Almond Delight Cake!

*Does the "Delight" come from the shot of Amaretto you drink with each slice? ;)
More from amaretto glaze that soaks into the cake. But you could shots with it. Sure.

Congrats John G.... I've been having that "I'm so glad I'm busy, but I'm going crazy with all this busy, I want the work, but when am I going to find time to get it all done" feeling all day today.

it's a good problem to have, but it's stressful none the less.  I feel blessed to be so busy, but man does it wear me out

Man, this day got away from me.  I got up and was immediately inundated with messages about what another soundtrack label was doing, having to do with re-pressing a limited edition that sold out quickly in about twelve hours.  They basically said they were out of the limited edition game, were going to do whatever the market would bear, and threatened that any title that didn't sell well would be pulled and effectively go out of print.  That story changed many times throughout the day because I'm sure they began to realize that they have CONTRACTS, those little things that have obligations in them - so they waffled and back-pedaled and now basically are saying it will be business as usual and occasionally they may re-press if something sells out quickly.  Meaning, their limited to 3000 units line is bogus and untrue.  Leave it off, but they won't because then they suddenly lose the BENEFITS of the limited edition.  They've basically shot themselves in the foot, I believe, and, for me at least, the credibility issue has gone to hell.

I had to do the four-mile jog, then eat something and then pick up only two packages, neither of which were the ones that are overdue, and no replacement for my debit card from Paypal, which, I found out today, was sent one WEEK ago.  Unbelievable, the mail system.  Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow because I am so mightily weary of dealing with all the autopay people sending notices to me because their payments didn't go through - I called at least five of them, but forgot a couple.  I had to actually speak strongly to one such company about their use of language in their dunning e-mail - I had to remind them that a) this has never happened, b) they need to be a little understanding when someone has had the unpleasantness of having their cc breached, and c) need to not send out notices that make the consumer feel like they are a crook.

When I was talking to Paypal they told me that the Walmart had responded, and the case was still open.  They don't need any further info from me at this time, but I told them if Walmart was trying to say the charge was legitimate, that I would sue them, because I had no less than ten conversations with them telling them the charges were bogus and not made by me, as I've never been in their STUPID city or store.  So Paypal, who are very understanding, noted that in my record - they know it's ridiculous, which is why they haven't asked me to respond officially.  All they'll really have to do is compare whatever signature was used to mine own - the tale will be told and then I will go after Walmart, right to the top of the corporate food chain and I will get people fired.  I will not rest if they are trying to do anything other than what is right.

We're actually in really good shape, reservations-wise - there are already enough dinner reservations to just about fill all the tables and there are ten show reservations beyond that, and I know a few people who'll just show up.

Alas, a lot of states don't require a signature on credit card slips for certain amounts any more. In NYC, it used to any amount $10, but I think that limit has been raised. Even at Starbucks, they usually just ask if you'd like a copy of your receipt, not if you'd like to sign it.  And I know that on the NJ Turnpike, a signature is only required on purchases over $20.

I don't think they would have allowed a two hundred dollar purchase without a signature.
