Well, you've read the notes, the notes were innately dramatic, and now it is time for you to post until the innately dramatic cows come home.

BK, at the bottom of the first page of today's notes you wrote:

TCB: In answer to your question yesterday: "11/22/63" is starting off very well. It moves quickly and is classic King storytelling.  Of course, I've only gotten through most of disc 4 of 30 by now, so that could change.

I'm up and I'm sneezing.

I've just finished sneezing. I don't know why but I sneeze about 10 times every morning. I think it's inherited because my father used to do the same.

Yesterday was a long one for me. I judged a wine competition in the morning and afternoon, which is hard work that was made even harder by the allergies closing up my nostrils way too frequently, making it harder to smell the wines (and aroma is so important).

In the evening, it was off to the cocktail conference, which was held at the Esquire, home of the longest bar in Texas. Mixologists (the name bartender is apparently too passe') were lined up down the bar and made special drinks crafted for the event. The Love Bite, for example, had vodka and absinthe with some other flavors stirred in. Trendy touches were sprays of bitters and loads of hand-chipped ice.

Ice is apparently one of the trendiest topics for these folks. There was even a seminar on the subject.

After tasting about three of those, I went off to the symphony, where the Beethoven cycle continued. The performance of the 7th was spectacular, with a crescendo of energy at the end that induced a wave of goosebumps.

Then it was back to sample a few more cocktails.

Hopefully I'll get a nap in today.

I've heard of a couple of other people doing that, too. We never know how the body is going to work.

Congratulations to DR TCB on his $$$.

The notes were very dramatic today - and very short.  But if notes are going to be dramatic, I prefer them to be short....otherwise, one is tempted to flee and intermission.

And yet here we are.

Good morning, all! I did not sleep well last night, so what do I know about vodka and tonic?

I am meeting my friend Peter at Toyland today to hand over all of DEAREST ENEMY to his capable hands. I don't like using Toyland, but it's the largest work space available to me at the nonce. Since I have work on the scores before he shows up, I will leave here very shortly and wend my way downtown.

DR Ginny, has Richard joined this Cass of 1964 site that Brad Cole has started up?

DR Ben, the killer episode of THE DUCHESS OF DUKE STREET is coming up in an early episode of Season Two' Miss Gemma is amazing!

That iis my day and the end of the news.

Sorted change last night for quarters.

Have everything ready.

Guess I'll head out in a minute or so, but first I must put

I do not understand how Tree of Life got nominated for Best Picture.  If anyone can enlighten me, I'll read it.  Won't believe it, but I'll read it. I rented it from Amazon, so I can watch it agin free and am considering it just to see what I missed, but I've already lost 2 hours of my life to the movie, really don't want to give it more

Jose, we have "Jack" for a week (the kids have already been in the U.S. for a week and have visited L.A. and Seattle).  This summer, Zach will go live with Jack's family for a week then tour China.  As I've joked, my hope is China will forgive our national debt if we agree to take Zach back.  :)

Yes, DR JMK - and I still can't figure out why Carroll played most of the scene with her eyes closed......she is a member of the Actor's Studio, so I blame Lee Strasberg for it.

As Stella Adler said when he died:  "It will take theatre fifty years to undo the damage he has done......"

I'm also lucky to have a theater owner in town who does his best to get all the movies that are nominated or that he thinks will be nominated.  He loses money on some of the smaller films, but since it's a 14 plex, he makes up for it on others.   I am definitely taking advantage of my free pass this year!

I had the roast chicken together with the roast Brussels sprouts. I've not roasted sprouts before but they were certainly delicious cooked that way.

Keith mentioned the price of brussel sprouts has been great.  He doesn't know why.  How are your prices?

Juniors!

I used to do their publicity.

I could write a whole new book on that one.

 :P

Maybe I don't want to ruin good memories.

After Keith & I moved to the Valley we discovered this wonderful deli that reminded us of Juniors.  When we mentioned it to the owner he told us he had recently split off from Juniors.  I don't remember the name of the deli.  I believe he was the brother to "Junior" & the original s in Juniors.

That was Eddie Saul's deli.  He was Marvin Saul's brother.  Marvin owned Juniors and was the one who hired me.

The brothers did not get along.

I met Eddie when his daughters moved into my condo complex in Calabasas.

I could write a book about them, too.

Thanks for clarifying that.  How long was the deli around?  We expected it to do well.

Prices seem reasonable just now although I'm not sure that they change all that much during the year.

Wow that sounds like Harry & Charlie's Meat Market and Butchering Emporium in Mooresville.

Charlie ran off with Harry's wife and it became Harry's Meat Market and then Charlie opening Charlie's Butcher Shop across the street.

That was ten years ago.  Now Charlie's place is empty and Harry's place is a bait and tackle shop.

$5 for a nice basket (about 2 pints, maybe a little more) of mini-sprouts that had been picked yesterday and that had not been sprayed. (Many of the local farmers refuse to pay the ridiculous price it takes to be able to use the word "organic." )

Sunday evening greetings!  I almost wimped out of the trip to Lima today because I slept very poorly last night, but ended up going with Fr. Richard.  Church was uneventful and afterwards we paid a nursing home call.  We were going to have lunch when we left there, but it was beginning to snow so we decided to high-tail it southward.  The conditions were almost like a white-out, but the roads weren't getting slick.  We drove out from under the snowstorm just north of Dayton - whew! - and picked up a late lunch to bring home.  We arrived just in time to tune into the figure skating coverage.

Couldn't you have taken a doggie bag with you to the concert?

I don't think Callie was amused with the furniture change.  I couldn't find her a little while ago. She's in the house, just crawled off somewhere and fell asleep.  I kept the cats up all day between playing the flute and moving furniture.   They are all exhausted.    Ok, time to find her so we can do her meds and get to sleep.  Night

Oh the point of moving the furniture is that I now have something that can be slept on in both my extra bedrooms upstairs.  And I've got a lot better idea of what color I'm going to paint the room I'm turning into a den.  Now I just need to get the place cleaned up before my parents come to stay on the 9th.  At least this job is done.   Moving furniture alone is a lot of work
