Well, you've read the notes, the notes were proofed, and now it is time for you to post until the proofing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: VISCERA!
-
A Very Happy Birthday to DR Druxy!! ;D
-
I know that Sunday is our Annual Oscar Bash but sadly, it's not the only place that I'll need to be. :-\
I have a performance of "A Bucket of Blood" at 7:30 in the evening, so I'll only be able to be at the HHW Annual Oscar Bash for an hour or so, then it's off to the theater I go.
I'll be back long after it's over, but I don't care about spoilers...so spoil away! :D
-
Topic of the Day: I don't know. I haven't seen a list since the nominations were announced, and I know that I haven't seen many of the movies. I'll look it up later.
-
And now, to bed.
Good night, all.
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
Happy Day to Druxy!
-
Thursday morning greetings! We got home about 10 last night from Lima, had a snack, and crashed. This morning I'm off to Cincinnati for an art class and lunch with Rob. Richard is off to the dentist for a repair of the temporary crown that he broke at lunch yesterday - he thinks he swallowed half of it :-\
-
Happiest of birthdays to DR Druxy!
-
;D
-
Happy Birthday Druxy.
-
Happy Birthday, DR Druxy!!!!
-
Time for work.
I have to pay $4.49 a gallon for gas today. :'(
There are not a whole of things left for me to cut from my budget to pay for gas to and from work.
Me thinks moving to Ventura was not such a good idea.
Oh well, the weather is still beautiful.
;D
-
MEGA VIBES EVERYONE.
:) :) :)
-
I want a bagel. That is all.
-
Happy Birthday, Druxy!
-
TOD: I predict the Oscars will run way too long.
-
Good morning, all! I slept in which was nice. I had most peculiar dreams, none of which I now remember, although one was in Ohio and had to do with counties.
I have several errands to do today; I'm pondering laundry at the moment, although I think it will be postponed until tomorrow. I do have phone calls to make concerning new phone service, a missing 1099 form for my IRA, and a trip to the bank. ROBERTA calls me as well as well: the sirens sing, "what about Act Two?"
-
Happy Birthday To DR Druxy
-
Is it DR Druxy's Birthday? I had no idea that it was coming up.

HAP-HAP SLAP-HAPPY BTRTHDAY WISHES TO DR DRUXY
-
Happy, happy, DR Druxy.
-
TOD:
I think Woody Allen will win for screenplay for "Midnight in Paris," Christopher Plummer for "Beginners" (though I'd prefer Max von Sydow), and I'm getting to where I think "The Artist" for best picture. It's the best of the four or five nominated pictures I've seen, but that doesn't mean anything, especially to Oscar voters.

I just read that there will be no Best Song performances this year. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

And they wonder why the ratings decline so precipitously every year.

Happy happy birthday to Druxy!!!

Listening to THE MOLLY MAGUIRES. Beautiful stuff.

That won't stop me from filing a PayPal dispute, of course.

Listening to THE MOLLY MAGUIRES. Beautiful stuff.
I thought both scores were just wonderful, though the opening of Strouse's left me without a doubt as to why, good as it was, they dumped it.

Happy Birthday DR DRUXY.
Continued recovery vibes for DR JOHN G.

TOD: I would like some surprises, although since there weren't many in the nominations, that probably won't happen.
AND if there is an episode of THE AMAZING RACE - I may have to skip an hour of the Oscars for it.
And Billy Crystal? Can we just have someone who moves the show along instead of someone who will be "funny" and have an annoying monolog and make the show all about him?
-
I guess not.

I can't understand why they insist on all that irritating chatter. We're not there to hear Jennifer Lopez or Meryl Streep make small talk in an attempt to land some sorry punchline that leads into the award for best collection of dust in a movie with a haunted house or some such nonsense.

Anthony transferred from cassette to CD for me this delightdul recording from the late great Caedmon Records. I've been laughing myself silly for the past hour. What a great book!
-
Did you see the rather odd video BlueGobo had of Channing doing her two big "GPB" songs on some variety show from the past? She's great.
And speaking of "GPB," BlueGobo also has a version of "Glitter and Be Gay" staged in keeping with Marilyn's interpretation of "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend."
-
Page three!
-
Last night I watched Hitchcock's silent film version of Noel Coward's "Easy Virtue." I don't think he got it. The movie wasn't funny. It was little more than the battle between the mother and the flapper. In many ways, the remake with Jessica Alba was more faithful to the source.

Nice cover DR ELMORE.

That's from Robert Carsen's staging of CANDIDE for Paris and the English National Opera.

I do not know from Foyle's War
-
Thinking that tomorrow I may be receiving more DEAREST ENEMY scores, I decided to go ahead and do the laundry, which is now in the dryers. I've run all of my errands, made the bank deposit, and bought some supplies at the pharmacy, so I can work on an Act Two score for ROBERTA, No 20 "Dance Scene." That will take the remainder of the day, perhaps most of tomorrow as well. It's a long number to reconstruct from parts.

DR Jrand it is available through NetFlix. You need to watch it beginning with the first episode. The DVD's have lots of extras about the making of the show. Most of the episodes are based on historical facts.

I just lost a post because of "too many fuckin connections"! So, where are these too many? I see no guests, and about 4 DRS!
Jimmy is a good guy who will treat the show well, better than Mr Price or Mr Boobie, two good actors who should stop directing and go back to what they do really well.

eBay update: Sent an eBay message to the seller asking if they received my payment and if the item was shipped and would he send along a tracking notice. (notice all items requested, received money, shipped... etc)
He wrote back saying my item was shipped on Tuesday because Monday was a holiday.
As usual, they neglected the other half of my message. This person has a 100% positive feedback rating on eBay. How the hell does that happen. I'm considering not giving feedback at all, or neutral, or maybe negative.

Been watching the Errol Flynn film "Desperate Journey" which I haven't seen for very many years. Totally ridiculous but hugely enjoyable. It plays like a serial with Flynn and his fellow flyers, having crashed in Nazi Germany, constantly getting captured yet each time making an easy escape. It's the film when, having stolen a German plane, and approaching England Flynn says that line "Now for a crack at those Japs".

PAGE SIX "WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS" DANCE:
At the beginning of January, one of my staff was out on medical leave for three weeks or so. She had a goiter and had to have her thyroid removed. When she was cleared to come back to work, she got a sinus infection! She was out again for a few days but that developed into a really bad cold, and now she's off for ANOTHER two weeks because of her weakened condition. And when I got to work today, we found out that HER APARTMENT BUILDING CAUGHT ON FIRE LAST NIGHT!! (http://www.theolympian.com/2012/02/23/2002105/tumwater-apartment-fire-displaces.html)
:o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
They had to cut a hole in her roof to stop the fire that was spreading almost to her unit. Fortunately, the only real damage other than from smoke (which may not be too bad) was water damage to an overstuffed chair and some shelves and the contents at her front entrance. Her building is condemned, but the management company was able to get her a new apartment in another building in the same complex. For the next couple of days, they're putting her up in an extended-stay motel. She's not sure when she can get her stuff out. At least the management company will have her bed and larger pieces moved, so she doesn't have to worry about that.

I never expected it. I got an email that said "Please help me" I thought it was a scam and almost deleted it. I opened it for what ever reason and saw it was MY email to Angies List. Angie (not the owner but an employee) said that she had been contacted by a show to talk about scam contracters and she wanted to know if I would be interested. I thought it was a local show show so I answered her and said I would. Next she had me call her and that's when she told me it would be in NYC and who's show it was. I almost fell off my seat!!
When she told me they would pay for the trip, I said "Yes!!!"
-
I need to leave work and go to my parents' house to give my dad a couple of DVDs that I burned for him. I'll just have time to drop them off because I have a show tonight!
Be back later!
-
I think the show will air fairly soon after the taping--he seems to be very current with events. I'm sure they will tell me and i will pass it on.
-
Hi all~ I know it's been awhile since I've posted but I have some news to share.
I am going to to flown the NYC next Tuesday to be on the Anderson Cooper Show! It will be a very quick trip. Just over night but I'm super excited and a bit scared. I'm going to be talking about what happened with Turner Construction of Central Florida.
Hi Danise. This is exciting. Are they also picking up the tab for your hotel room? I hope they have some clout to help you get some of your money back.
-
It will be a quick trip. Up on Tuesday back on Wednesday night but I asked for the early flight up and the latest flight back. Maybe some of the NY DR's could meet for dinner on Wednesday? I don't know where I'm staying yet.
The producer I spoke with today was asking me questions like what kind of seat did I prefer on the plane (I said window) and did I have any medical conditions they needed to be aware of. Stuff like that.
-
It was just announced that our library director has been put on paid administrative leave (http://informedcommunity.wordpress.com/2012/02/23/action-regarding-the-library-director/). :o
I hope this doesn't hurt your library!!!

All expenses paid!

This is great DR Danise! It will be fun for you even if it is one night. You can travel light too with just a carry on. What time will you tape the show?

I don't know if they are going to help me. I'm thinking it's more of a chance for me to tell what happened to me so others won't make the same kind of mistake. No one has said anything about doing anything. But it's a free trip to NY so I'm ahead of the game! :)
-
Danise! So good to see you!
-
Break a leg on your nationwide television debut!

DR Danise, I am free on Wednesday and will wait to hear from you on all details.
-
I don't know all the details yet. I just know I fly up on Tuesday and the tapping will be Wednesday but I don't know what time. I don't even know what hotel I'm staying at yet or the flight times. I asked to go up early and stay late the next night so I would have some time to walk around TS and maybe see my NY friends.

Get my autograph now because when I get home, it will be ten bucks! LOL!

Cool! I still have your card with your phone number on it. Is it still correct?

I've been wanting to tell everyone about this for a couple of weeks but I kept quiet because I wasn't 100% sure it would happen. They kept setting up dates and then pushing it back. This is the first time they started talking about a date and plane tickets, what time would be good for me to come up, etc.

It sounds like you will have free time on Tuesday night if your flight is on time.

Ditto!!!
You did great with your local interview.
-
Danise, so excited about you being on Anderson Cooper!! I'm jealous, but don't envy what you had to go through to get there.
-
Me either. I'm not exactly thrilled that I have to go onto national TV and say, "My name is Danise Hegerty and I let Turner Construction of Central Florida cheat me." I would have liked it to be for a different reason.

I hope so, although all hell might break loose next week with this Time Warner tsuris.
-
One thing. They kept asking me if I knew where Turner was. I don't but I know where his brother is-- in jail. He jumped a 83 year old, stole 45 dollars cash, 500 worth of jewelry, threatened her with a gun, then broke her arm and stole her car! I told them if they kick enough rocks over, I'm sure he would slither out from one of them.
-
DR Larry, got your email. Thanks. :)
-
Excellent! I still expect all of this Time Warner changeover to blow up in my face before it's over!

Great to see Danise, too. It's like a mini-reunion..
Exciting that you'll be on TV and help people, too!

Thank you. Yes, it is pretty neat. And so unexpected.

I have to say that I'm really liking the new Android phone I got. I dropped my old phone and decided to splurge on a smart phone. Still with Virgin Mobile and it only costs 25/month for 300 mins, unlimited text and internet. What's cool is I enter someones phone number in my google address book and Poof! it's downloaded in my phone with a picture of that person. I don't know how it does that but that's so cool~

Oh my! I haven't forgotten how "sweet" Turner's wife was to you. I wonder if she was part of the scam.

Mostof the ebooks I get seem to be free. I am on a bunch of great lists that send free ebook lists daily. Plus I belong to a lot of groups on facebook that list daily deals. I would actually love to buy (since i have giftcards) some of the books that I would regularly read. But most of them are at least $10. And I find that to be too expensive for an ebook. You can buy those same books fom the book depository for a dollar more with free shipping.

VIBES NOTHING BLOWS UP IN YOUR FACE!!!!
-
DR Danise it truly is great to have you posting again. :)
-
I guess this is for Anderson Cooper's daytime talkshow and not for his CNN show. Here his show is on at 3pm. DR Danise so nice to hear from you. Does anyone know if his shows air the same day they are taped.

Danise, our new international HHW star! :)
-
Danise, so excited about you being on Anderson Cooper!! I'm jealous, but don't envy what you had to go through to get there.
I said kind of the same thing when telling DH Richard about it - "hard way to earn a trip to New York"
-
Hopefully Matt, Stuart, Dan in Toronto and countless others will show up before the end of the day. :)
-
'night
-
Whew! I've spent most of this evening rearranging one wall of my Momcave, a project that required unloading one of my 3 bookcases, moving it, and reorganizing the books on all 3. Of course, it all had to be dusted as I went along. Tomorrow Richard will help me move my TV and then I just have to figure out what to do with the miscellaneous stuff, mostly papers.
-
Night, all.
-
How wonderful to see Mikey back if only for a few moments
-
truly thrilled to see Danise back and so happy to hear her news
-
HappY Birthday Druxy

Tonight Vixdad was going to be out and I got out of work at a decnt hour so I treated the Vixter and myself to a hibachi dinner at new hibachi restaurant that opened nearby ---

Has anyone heard from Jose?
-
HappY Birthday Druxy
Thank you, Vixmom
-
An almost belated birthday wish to Druxy.

I found this interesting website that sells (I am guessing DVD-R) versions of movies. There are many many TV movies from the 70's many that I remember seeing. From the sublime "That Certain Summer" to the not so subllime The Horror at 37,000 Feet.
Some TV series (He & She, Funny Face) and
movies from the 60's and 70's.
They even have CAN HIERONYMUS MERKIN EVER FORGET MERCY HUMPPE AND FIND TRUE HAPPINESS? I have only heard about it and BK has mentioned it several times over the years.
There are a lot of them I would love to see again.
I discovered this website because of The Eye of the Cat (They have both the theatrical and the revised TV version) I was curious to see what films were the first to be rated by the MPAA. The film received a "M"
-
I bemused to see that The Thomas Crown Affair received an R rating.
It's one of my favorite films and for the life of me I can't figure out why it would have received an R. It is at least compariable to a PG
-
a friend on mine posted this on her facebook page and I immediately thought of Laura
-
Very nice. Did she identify it? It looks like a Pyrrhuloxia to me. Where is she located?
-
That is one gorgeous bird.
-
Sometimes I think G-d actually does know what He/She is doing. ;)

Happy Birthday, DR Druxy, a little bit late.
-
Dr Danise, can't wait to see you with Anderson Cooper--exciting news!
-
I predict that "The Artist" will win Best Picture.
-
Can proof no more tonight - but the good news is I got to chapter nineteen, so only two more chapters and the outroduction and I'm done. Found a few more hyphen things, one singular that should have been a plural (very easy to miss) and just stuff like that. I also watched J. Edgar.
-
My other Oscar predictions:
Best Actor : Jean Dujardin....but not counting out George Clooney or Brad Pitt.
Best Actress: Viola Davis.....never count out Meryl Streep
-
Best Supporting Actress: Octavia Spencer
Best Supporting Actor: Christopher Plummer
-
Best Original Screenplay: Woody Allen for Midnight In Paris
-
Cool bird, Vixmom!

Have not caught up with the notes, nor the daily discussions, but am I the first to post that Debra Messing and Will Chase actually ARE dating, and have left their respective spouses?
