Well, you've read the notes, the notes were repetitious in the extreme, and now it is time for you to post until the repetitious cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: DINGLE!
-
A Very Happy Birthday to DR Sandra!! ;D
-
DR der Brucer: Thank you for the excellent suggestion of putting the giant stingray in my sister's pond to keep the heron away. Unfortunately I don't think it will fit in. The heron paid a return visit and polished off the remaining lone goldfish - I'm beginning to think that the fish I take her tomorrow are simply going to be more heron food - but apparently she is taking precautions (something about a shotgun).
-
Happy Birthday to DR Sandra
-
I really enjoyed the Wallander series with Krister Henriksson. The BBC have also shown the films with Rolf Lassgård, which were also excellent and which portrayed a rather tougher Wallander. I didn't care for the Kenneth Branagh series at all.
-
Good morning!
-
Happy Birthday, DR Sandra!

Happy birthday, Sandra!!!

Happy, happy, Sandra.

Happy Birthday Sandra
-
Good morning, all! I slept late and I feel quite good. I'm having a round of arthritis in my hip that giving me may ambulatory problems I am not happy about for the past couple of days.
Yesterday was a pretty good day. Curtis and I finished the work on the Toyland invwntory for the California office. I really have no idea how much of this junk they will clear out and what will be left behind. The meeting about future work and a new office went well, too, so I'm hoping we'll have good office news soon.
Today, since I'm still waiting for the final fixes on two DEAREST ENEMY scores, I can't finish printing them out. So, hopefully tomorrow morning I can finish printing the full scores, take three to Kinko's for binding, and ship them out on Tuesday. Now that th scores are completed, we can begin printing and taping orchestra parts, whch I hope to accomplish in the next two weeks.
Instead, I will do a bit of proofreading on THE ONLY GIRL and begin the work for the CD release of EILEEN. I've found the carton holding all the scores and recording prep. My first project is to type the libretto for the recording. That should take me a week or so, and I'm not particularly looking forward to it.
And thar's my day.
-
!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Birthday to Our Occasional DR Sandra !!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Happy Birthday DR SANDRA.
Proofing vibes for DR ELMREO

Just thought I would get you in the groove.

Congrats to Bryan on finishing school!
-
I feeling better.....at least I can get out of bed and walk around a bit today.
-
The casting directing of ALICE and his life partner have written a dual autobiography which is pretty interesting.....Alan Shayne and Norman Sunshine.....it is called DOUBLE LIFE.
-
Happy Birthday, Sandra!
-
Congrats on finishing your screenplay DR DRUXY!
-
Happy Birthday, Sandra!
-
Um, Doug... I wouldn't put any fish in that pond. Not until after it sees that the buffet is out of food and goes elsewhere.
-
Or else do what I did when I found a green heron fishing in mine. I got bird netting and covered the pond. I used cement blocks (left over from building the block fence) to ring the pond and let the netting catch on the rough edges. Make it tight so the bird doesn't stand on it and sag down to the water.
Oh -- and sit outside with the hose all day and squirt at the heron until it gives up and leaves.
-
Happy Birthday to DR Sandra. Can't wait to hear what trouble she gets into today!
-
I am hungry!
-
Watching PIGSKIN PARADE this morning and enjoying the antics and songs of the Yacht Club Boys very much.
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
Happy Day to Sandra!!!
-
Sunday morning greetings! How odd it seems for us to be home together on a Sunday morning. Richard had arranged to be off today following his long drive yesterday and he's still asleep.
-
Happiest of birthdays to DR Sandra!
-
Happy Earth Day Ben
That Is All

Double Life is not an e-book in the Sony Store, darn.
-
Thank You Dear Arnold!
-
We watched My Sister Eileen last night.
It's the 1955 musical version of the stories. It stars Betty Garret, Janet Leigh and Jack Lemmon. It's OK but it's not remotely Jule Styne's best work (IMHO). There are some great dance sequences with Bob Fosse and Tommy Krall but the movie is just OK

I think you mean Tommy Rall.

Double Life is not an e-book in the Sony Store, darn.
Might be worth a trip to the library.....Shayne started as an actor and was Ricardo Montalban's understudy in JAMAICA and went on for him several times opposite Lena Horne....and Sunshine is an artist and advertising man who came up the the WHAT BECOMES A LEGEND MOST campaign for Blackglama. Very interesting to read.

Thanks for the advice Laura. I have to take the fish tomorrow though. My sister and her husband have prepared plenty of netting over the pond.

Maybe her pond is too shallow. Our fish go down to the bottom of our pond to avoid the heron. Right now it has tons of frogs to feed on, and yes this vegetarian wishes our Blue Heron would do a better job of feasting on them. They are extremely LOUD.

Congrats to Bryan on finishing school!
Thank you. He is looking forward to working & making a little bit of money for what he was doing for free.

DR Ginny enjoy your Sunday off.

Good morning.
I just got my Masters independent study topic proposal done and sent in to my adviser.
In the words of Dr Suess: This may not seem very important, I know. But it is, so I'm bothering telling you so.

Craig is making us a puffed apple pancake. The intention is that is taste like the ones at The Original House of Pancakes. I began the day with half a cup of hot chocolate. Obviously this isn't going to be a healthy food day-lol.

I'll miss Craig when he leaves for Johns Hopkins to get his second master's degree.

I, too, took the Sunday off from church and am spending at least the morning part with the DP and the "mother-in-law" before I'm off to Annie tech (12:00-10:00) at noon. I can post from the pit.

Congratulations, DR Ann - that's a big step!

Did you go"rustic" and use your finger-nail or go all "high-techy" and use a stylus?
der Brucer
This was a show really worth seeing - the dancing was great. Eubie is shelved right up with "Don't Bother Me I can't Cop'"and "Your Arm's Too Short To Box With God" as LP's needing a CD.

I agree. I dug out Eubie, Don't Bother Me, Don't Play Us Cheap, Bessie and Me, and One Mo' Time on vinyl last night. I was looking for Eubie and stopped there. I would still like to hear Your Arm's, too.
And there was an actual needle, not my fingernail.

I had very strange dreams this weekend. Friday night in my dreams I survived a house fire, a tornado and being on the Titanic. I wasn't frightened in the dream at all, sort of seemed ho hum about the tragedies. I laughed when I woke up, it really wasn't a nightmare.
Last night I dreamed I went back to KU to finish my bachelors degree. I was there for two years and transferred, in my dream I decided it was a mistake to leave and went back to finish.

Tonight is our last band concert of the season. YEAH!!! I love being in band but I'm ready for a break. We start again in September.

Happy Earth Day.

My Nook died Friday night when some sort of update when into it. It reset and somehow wiped out my serial number. They said there really isn't anything that can be done. So, yesterday I bought a Nook Tablet. I got the 8G version and my BN member card gave me $25 off. The funny thing is all the reviews rate it high but say you can access more Amazon movies on the Amazon Fire. Last night I went to my browser, went to Amazon and was able to log in and watch an instant streaming movie on my Nook, lol. I was just testing it, so I didn't watch it, but it's nice to know I can

OK, time to go back to laundry. Want to get it done before our rehearsal this afternoon

Back from picking up cake, putting gas in the motor car, and jogging.

Hi all. I thought I posted but guess I didn't this morning.
Happy Birthday to DR Sandra! Also glad to read that DR Jrand is doing better.
We had the big storm come though last night. I would have slept though it but Sheena woke me around two, scared to death.
I'm ashamed of myself for not doing anything this weekend. I just watched tv and slept. I just couldn't get motivated to do anything. I guess I needed that down time.
I'm hoping they will be able to survey the land this week. I know once that is out of the way things will really take off and start to happen.

Even if your nook dies i doubt you would lose any books. At least the way it is set up with your kindle is that that the ebooks are all stored online. So if you get another kindle you can just put all the books that are already yours on the new one.
-

This worries me too.
I'm not really understanding how this happened. If DR Cilla did an update. Or the nook automatically did it. But it is disturbing that they just said there was nothing they could do??
-
I have to say I agree with Laura. If my Sony got wiped out by an update and they said they couldn't do anything, (that's the most appalling thing about it) they would not hear the end of it. If it was wiped out by an update that the company sent, they damn well better do something about it or their lack of action goes viral. That is completely and totally unacceptable. If that's B&N's attitude, then I don't need to buy anything at their rapidly shrinking stores.

This has been a good weekend and a bad weekend.
On the bad side, I have been feeling poorly. Not a cold or the flu; but just feeling tired and achy. And even though the temperatures outside is in the 70s, I am suffereing from chills
But on the good side, I am now able to sit in a straight chair, and lift my left foot of the floor, hold it up for a count of five, and then slowly put it down again.

And DR Jane, thank you for the card from Keith, Sherlock, and you. It was very nice of you.
Did you have to wait until you got home to receive it? Just curious. I don't trust hospitals to deliver cards.

DR TCB how well does your right leg work?

This has been a good weekend and a bad weekend.
On the bad side, I have been feeling poorly. Not a cold or the flu; but just feeling tired and achy. And even though the temperatures outside is in the 70s, I am suffereing from chills
But on the good side, I am now able to sit in a straight chair, and lift my left foot of the floor, hold it up for a count of five, and then slowly put it down again.
Great good news, TCB!! ;D

Good morning.
I just got my Masters independent study topic proposal done and sent in to my adviser.
In the words of Dr Suess: This may not seem very important, I know. But it is, so I'm bothering telling you so.
Congrats, Ann!

My Nook died Friday night when some sort of update when into it. It reset and somehow wiped out my serial number. They said there really isn't anything that can be done.
That's disturbing. How could that happen?
I don't really know, but there are a number of other people who it happened to online and they all got the same thing, an offer of a discount for a new nook. It's out of warranty, so I'm not sure there's much you can do about it
-
My Nook died Friday night when some sort of update when into it. I was just testing it, so I didn't watch it, but it's nice to know I can
I hope that doesn't happen with mine. I would lose a lot of books. Is the tablet larger than the regular Nook? Does it have a back light to read at night?
You don't lose any books you bought on B&N. Do you have the First Edition or the color nook? Mine was the first edition. One thing I probably did wrong was that I thought it was frozen and tried to turn it off. That may have contributed, but not sure. So if it looks like it's not doing anything don't do anything to it and call customer support. You may not lose anything that way
-
Also, can you hook your Nook to your computer and back up your books onto your computer?
-
Boy, I will tell you that if my Nook got wiped out by an update, I would NOT buy another one. If I even had one, that is.
well, you can't buy the nook I had. They don't make them anymore. I'm not afraid of the tablet I do think I may have contributed by trying to get it to shut off when it looked frozen. SO.....

This worries me too.
I'm not really understanding how this happened. If DR Cilla did an update. Or the nook automatically did it. But it is disturbing that they just said there was nothing they could do??
Ok, it was an automatic update. The truth is I thought it was frozen and tried to shut it off. It ended up doing a factory reset and somehow wiped out my serial number. As I've said, I think I may have contributed to the problem. I didn't confess this to the customer service person, but it's probably true

Back from a wonderful signing - full up, I'm happy to say - more folks than we've ever had - they ran out of chairs, actually, and there were even a few folks who I didn't know, which is always fun. I read three little excerpts and took questions and told some unexpurgated anecdotes that are not included in the book :) It was the first time that there were so many people that we actually ran out of cake. I won't remember everyone who was there, but dear readers Amy and Mark came, Jason Graae, the Family Hollis, Nick Redman and his ever-lovin' Julie Kirgo, Outside the Box editor Marshall Harvey, my friend M'Lisa MacLaren (she was in Stages), her daughter, and her husband, Doug Haverty and wife Dorothy, a pal named Marci, her two young boys (who were so well behaved and adorable) and her hubby, Andrea, who used to work at Varese, film music collector, Henry Stanny, film music producer Neil Bulk and his girlfriend, Nudie Musical production assistant Bonnie MacBird, Grant Geissman, Rich Schraier, and about ten others whose names are escaping me. Could not have been happier. Sold not only quite a few new books, but some of every other title.

The Melody rehearsal was okay - she hadn't warmed up properly so her head was not in the right place - that said, even Melody at half-speed is better than most at full speed. We then had some dinner (I ate too much, but I was starving), and now Grant is coming by to help hang some pictures.

Yeah, it was a pretty powerful cover

I should say, not only did a gay teen in a small town nearby commit suicide this week because of bullying, but the movie BULLY opened in the local theater (finally). One of the kids featured in the movie is at a local high school. There was already a lot of publicity about the movie etc and in the midst of all this discussion about bullying, the young man killed himself. It's really sad. There are a lot of people who feel the same way the Journal staff do. Enough is enough
