And the word of the day is: ALLOCUTION!
There is no snow here though they predict it by the weekend.
Many options DR DRUXY. Maybe Diane McBain would like help on her autobiography.
Druxy: Evelyn Nesbit

She's working with the guy who wrote the Sal Mineo book.
Besides, Diane and I are too close. Too much history.
I watched five episodes of DOWNTON ABBEY last night.
Certainly lots of things going on this season......the Bates story does not compel me....but we shall see where it goes. Other stories are more interesting....
Thomas is going to get himself into trouble again if he is not careful!
Speaking of Hazel, has this been posted here yet?:That is hysterically funny, especially the last quip.

BK, congratulations on completing the writing of your book. I have yet to finish reading one so far this year...Unless you count audiobooks, I haven't either. Bummer. :(
I always count audiobooks. Then I have experienced/absorbed one. Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver. Recommend it much more highly than the Lacuna.
After arriving home Friday at midnight, I've finally unpacked my suitcase and put it away. Coming home sick really had me in la-la land there for a while. I'm not yet 100%, but it's looking more and more like I'll live. Also pulled my laptop out of hiding and it's nice to be back on it after 2+ weeks of hand-held devices.
And the word of the day is: ALLOCUTION!
The old home phone and internet are gone. New wireless line and internet are in.
Now, who do I give my new phone number to ????
Within 2 days someone I do not like knew my home phone was disconnected. Not one person in 3 years from my weekend meeting has ever called me at home. And within 2 days she reports me as being the IGR rep with a disconnected phone number.
Congratulations on finishing the book (not counting re-writes and editing)!
As I mentioned earlier, I finished my Basil Rathbone play a couple of days ago and felt that brief elation when one completes a project. That, however, soon turned into a mild feeling of dejection, as one realizes that the project is finished.
:(
That card really made no sense to me.
Loved the snapshot of DR Doug R and DR Ginny that was posted the other day!

DR Jane, it was posted by DR Doug R on Thursday morning. We had a lovely visit with him Wednesday evening in the pub on the ground floor of our hotel in London.
I said almost ;) How long was your flight delayed?

5 long hours - on the plane...
TCB, that was Jupiter and the moon last night.
I am glad it doesn't snow here. Although I would have been fine with the cold -- except that my garden froze. We don't usually have to worry about that.

Do you need permission to use the name, THE MUSIC MAN?

Oh, I had a turkey sandwich for lunch. No fries, no onion rings.

Okay, I'm going to try and post a photo:

Thank you DR Ginny. The best way to enjoy an English pub is with a native.
BK, I saw THE LIFE OF PI this weekend in all of its 3-D glory.
Wonderful film...loved it.
And of course it featured two popular Bollywood stars of the 1990s, Irfan Khan and Tabu.
The moral of the story was great and important...although I understand it has irked a few Conservative Christian organizations.
It's a little too late and I'm a little too tired to watch LILITH this evening, but I took a peek at it and it sure looks great. The Getaway has some period images of the San Antonio River Walk. Some of it is dated, but the restaurant you see in the background, Casa Rio, is still alive and serving.
I went to Walmart specifically to look for that, and there were plenty of copies. It's in a series of Mill Creek double-feature releases, five bucks per double feature. I wish there were more of those with films I'm interested in. The only other selection out of a dozen or so that I cared to try was a pair of spaghetti westerns, one starring Lee Van Cleef. At a glance, the transfers all look good.
Also purchased the Sam Peckinpah/Steve McQueen THE GETAWAY for six bucks. Interestingly, the disc menus are entirely in Japanese, as are most of the alternate audio tracks and subtitles. Looked on Amazon, and a bunch of people have reported the same thing, bought from any number of retail sources. An interesting error on Warner Bros.' or some distributor's part.
