Loved the snapshot of DR Doug R and DR Ginny that was posted the other day!

I must go back and find this.  Who posted it?

DR Jane, it was posted by DR Doug R on Thursday morning.  We had a lovely visit with him Wednesday evening in the pub on the ground floor of our hotel in London.

Thank you DR Ginny.  The best way to enjoy an English pub is with a native.

I found the very nice photo of DR's Ginny & Doug.  While reading Doug's posts I see that Ginny & Richard left London almost just in time.

Oh, DR Jane, read further and you'll find that we didn't quite make it out soon enough...

I don't think I've slept much in the last week thanks to a week of traveling & celebrating for my niece's wedding (my brother's youngest daughter).

First we flew to San Francisco where we had to stay at an airport hotel and the freeway traffic kept us up much of the night.  We then had an 8:30am flight to Cancun on Thursday.  On arrival we were surprised how cold it was there.  After waiting for the "fast" bus to finally make it to Play Del Carmen for the ferry to Cozumel........

The crowd of 27 that flew out from Los Angeles took the 20 minuted flight to Cozumel from Cancun, however, arriving an hour earlier than they did we opted for the ferry.  It took us so long to get there my nephew and his family (too many of them to afford the flight) arrived only 10 minutes after we did.  The good part was, to our delight, we got to travel across with them.  Un-delightful was the 30 minute ferry ride in the windy rough waters.  Then we all taxied to the hotel together.

Welcome back, MBarnum. Loved the admittedly strange birthday card.

Our return trip on the ferry was much easier & we booked a passenger van that left shortly after we got off the ferry.  One other couple was on it and we were all conveniently going to the United terminal.

Once again we had to overnight in San Francisco.  We were up at 5:30to catch the 6:00am shuttle to the airport.

TOD:

My favorite pasta is fettucini alfredo and the best I've ever had was at a little bistro in Quebec. The spaghetti I had in Italy was nothing to write home about, but it was in a cafeteria where the college students ate. I also had pizza in Italy. Again, so-so.

TCB, that was Jupiter and the moon last night.

I am glad it doesn't snow here. Although I would have been fine with the cold -- except that my garden froze. We don't usually have to worry about that.

My friend that lives in Sun City, thinks it is freezing when it gets below 75 degrees.  He didn't open the doors at all during your recent freeze.

This talk about pasta, specifically fettucini Alfredo, reminds me that I couldn't get any at the Alfredo's restaurant in the hotel.  I had planned to stop in for lunch one day except the restaurant was only open at night.  None of the weekend plans included Alfredo's for dinner.

On the way home from the airport we did some major grocery shopping and then I did laundry all day.  All my energy is gone & I still need to get those dinner dishes done.

Received a book of short stories in the mail today from a former boss. About 14 years ago, when I first moved to San Antonio, he sent me two or three of the stories to edit. I had all but forgotten that, but last week I remembered an image from one of those stories, a scene of someone outside a neighbor's home and looking in. And now I have the book. Hope to get to read some of it at the beach next weeek.

I'm not "doing" The Music Man.  It would be like writing a book about The Music Man - you don't need anyone's permission to do that, or to even quote lines, as long as you're not reproducing the entire script.  And my book isn't really even about it - it's a plot point and almost a background character.  Just as we don't need permission to quote lines here on this here site.

Speaking of Hazel, has this been posted here yet?:

Hazel reviews Les Miserables

That is hysterically funny, especially the last quip.

Speaking of Les Miz, has anyone else seen this mini-flash mob of ONE DAY MORE done at a wedding reception of two musical theater freaks fans.  The performances are very good, but the camera work will make you dizzy if you aren't careful.
