Good morning, all! The jerk above me arrived home around 10:15 and wandered around until midnight. My schedule is off by an hour, but the ghosts were also raising havoc last night on 82nd Street. Yesterday afternoon and evening were quite a hotbed of paranormal activity. Around 3pm, I lay down to take a nap, and, each time I was nearly asleep, a male voice said something in my left ear and woke me. I couldn't make out the words or identify the voice, but it was the same voice both times. Then, just after midnight, when everything was finally quiet, I was rattled by the sound of what I can only call a raspberry coming from the area around my work table. It was quite loud, but the weirdest thing happened around 2am, when i was wakened by the sound of my printer running. There have been nights in the past when the computer has suddenly turned on, scaring the hell out of me, but I don't think I've ever had the printer experience before.
I don't know what the spirit worl is trying to tell me, but i wish they'd make the message clear and calm down.

And this is just the Spring Solstice! Can you imagine what All Hallow's Eve must be like at DR Elmore's?
Greetings from the aeroplane. No matter what class I don't fly ever without early boarding. You get it with first, of course, but also with extra leg room in coach
And the word of the day is: SACROSANCT!
I finished watching the third disc of WEST POINT last night. John Wilder was back for an episode and Steve Terrell was in for one....and Richard Harrison was back in my favorite episode....co-starring with a monkey that the script and everyone else called Gargantua....but Richard insisted on calling Gargancha.....
If you own a Kindle (and are a member of Amazon Prime), you can now borrow free , MATRICIDE, my fictional screenplay that is based on the murder of actress Susan Cabot.

First class is always first class!
I don't know why, but I'm reminded of the CB version of Oedipus Rex on a forgotten variety show. Their description of Oedipus' back story:
He killed his father -- that was fratricide.
Then he took his mama for a mattress ride.
So what's this? Justin timberlake doesn't make an album for seven years. Now it's two in one year! Slow down, justin!
Lovin' It.I don't know why, but I'm reminded of the CB version of Oedipus Rex on a forgotten variety show. Their description of Oedipus' back story:
He killed his father -- that was fratricide.

And then there's Lorenz Hart's:
Sir Athelstane indulged in fratricide;
He killed his dad and that was patricide
One night I stabbed him at my mattress side
To keep my love alive,
To keep my love alive.
;D
I don't know why, but I'm reminded of the CB version of Oedipus Rex on a forgotten variety show. Their description of Oedipus' back story:Forgive my absentmindedness today. It should be patricide. And I knew that. Can't think straight. Bad headache.

Because I just came in at 1:30 in the morning from snowblowing the lower section of the driveway..
LOL - I'm anticipating a notes column titled "HOT NUTS AND WARM TOWELS" about the first class experience. The nuts and towels are what impressed my mom immediately the first time she went busienss class (on miles, of course).
She said incredulously, "I'm sure they're getting this same treatment back in the regular seats" - I said "uh, huh" and reminded here we did use miles for the upgrade so did really pay for this, it wasn't "free" so enjoy it.
My niece has her first snow day ever. I think it was because it snowed all thru the night and it is supposed to snow all day and all night today. They very rarely close the schools. I think there is supposed to be ten inches.
All cleaned up!

I'm impressed at the hour you did this.
No. But today I'm trying to wean myself from decongestants back to mere allergy meds, and maybe that has something to do with it.I don't know why, but I'm reminded of the CB version of Oedipus Rex on a forgotten variety show. Do you get headaches often?

I wouldn't know...I've only ever flown coach. :-\
Yes Precious was glad to get home looking so nice.....while I was paying the bill, she was bossing a black lab around in the waiting room. He didn't seem to mind much and was rather amused at her antics.
Thanks to all who commented, yes I think this is the best grooming she has had since we got her back in August.
In the hotel - a lovely suite. I seem to be located in the heart of something called Chevy Chase - lots o' stores, so I think I'll take a walk and see what's what. I ate the breakfast on the plane, plus some cheese and fruit, so it will have to be a very light meal tonight. Also, no treadmill - they're being replaced with the latest and greatest this week, but will be available Friday. So, I may get adventurous and buy some running shoes here (I can ship them home before going to the airport on Saturday) and maybe jog a bit, which I much prefer to a treadmill anyway.

OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL had me hooked from the wonderful opening credits. I really liked the film and its design. It does a great job of catching the Oz mythology from the 1939 film, including the concept of people from Kansas showing up in different but similar characters in Oz, and the musical number sounds like something Arlen and Harburg wrote for the original film. I especially liked the fact that the film, unlike the 1939 movie, dpesn't end with Oz waking up back in Kansas and it's all being a dream. Curiously, the film begins in 1905, five years after the first Oz book was published. I have a theory on that.
I liked the film's gothic quality - why couldn't someone do BABES IN TOYLAND this spookily? - and I thought Danny Elfman's score worked nicely. Halfway through theend credits, the music moves into a pop mode for a Mariah Carey piece of garbage that completely takes you out of the mood the film establishes. What ass decided that?
I had a great time with my beloved goddaughter Charlotte, to whom I gave a copy of Jack Finney's TIME AND AGAIN this afternoon, and I learned all about her auditions this week.

:o Your neighbors didn't mind?? Or are they just too far away to hear the noise?

Far enough away that it isn't disruptive if someone needs to do something like that late at night. I wouldn't go out with the trimmer or the chainsaw at that hour, and I was quick about this.
On our shopping trip today Richard bought himself the newly-released HOBBIT. We are watching it now and I'm so glad I'm not trapped in a dark theatre! At least here at home I can knit and putter...
Two hours of Dance Moms tonight!
DR ELMORE - I stayed in the lobby until they took her into the next room. AND they didn't bring her out until I arrived to pick her up, so as far as she knows, I was there for the entire three hours.

I'm sure we will see this. I am a fan of the trilogy books, however, I was lukewarm on THE HOBBIT.
Nice pic!!!! :)
Great picture!
Where is her show on Thursday? I'll know by tomorrow if I can come down. This is a crazy week.
DR Cillaliz did you watch last night's premiere of Dancing with the Stars?
I was very impressed. Although I thought that DL Hughley (sp?) was horrendous.
My favorites were Val and Zendaya (thought she was exceptional). And Derek and Kellie Pickler. I also thought that the football player and Karina have a lot of potential.

If Precious and Toby got together, i wonder who would boss who around.Boo would have them both doing her bidding in no time
or is it whom?
