Deb, sorry to hear about the problems with your father.
Hugs to you and the family.
DR cillaliz, I am still seething over this ass who thinks he's Dr Big Game Dentist. I so hope this megillah ruins his practice and sends him to an African prison.

I send out all good vibes to everyone that needs them.A great big DITTO!!
I wonder how many raccoons are in residence at the Annette house.
Have a wonderful time with your adopted son and On the Town, DR Elmore.
(Damn! I still have to see that!)

See it before Tuesday; to cut the running costs they are reducing the orchestra on Tuesday night.
Well, i hope DR Jane is sleeping soundly tonight, because I am not.
The insomnia may have been brought on by the bad news I received yesterday regarding a long-time theater friend.
And they wonder why I'm so angry.
Reducing the orchestra.....oh my....
DR JANE almost played a part if Erle Stanley Gardner's The Case of the Deadly Tomato......scary.
DR CILLA LIZ don't overdo it!!
They should be required to reduce the cast, costumes, and lighting, too. Make it clear to the public what reducing something actually means vis-à-vis what a show is written for and how honest they're being in presenting it on Broadway.

Cutting the orchestra size has been common for the past 100 years. In the past, when there was a string section of 15-20 players, it meant cutting the section by half. It's usually the string section that gets it.

If, however, any of this is providing some work for our own DR Elmore, then that greatly tempers my remarks. It's my own fault for not having gotten off my ass to see the show long before now.
I will probably need massive quantities of wine and chocolate when I get home...
Good morning. Thanks for all the vibes for my mother-in-law. I heard from my DH day before yesterday. She had a bad day that day.
I need a nap.
The heat index may hit 100, and I may hit 23000 posts today.
I think I have finally found the full color Li'l Abner window card from Broadway. A couple have come up over the last few years and I couldn't get anywhere near them thanks to a couple of nut jobs who didn't care how much money they spent - I believe those nut jobs are speculators and trying to create a market where none exists. In any case, this won't actually cost any cash if we work out our little deal. It's not the full original cast on this poster - Edie Adams and Charlotte Rae had already moved on, but since I love Billie Hayes, I actually like that she's on the poster.
I hope you get it.
Good sleep news from DR Jane.
Long may it continue! :)

Apparently The Raccoons are using the roof as their loo. Nice. There's no way for them to get into the attic, so that's good. They're removing all that poo from the loo and then will treat the roof with some stuff they won't like. He said, interestingly, that it's rare for them to be in a pack like that and that they see that happen when someone in the neighborhood is feeding them. If it's true, I'd best not find out who that is.
A partial view of bk's rooftop last evening (the screen isn't wide enough to show the whole photo):

I am purposely not following the dentist-lion killer story very closely, but from the bits and pieces that I have heard, it is looking worse and worse for him.

Great news on At Long Last Love, George, though I treasure the homemade CD you shared with me. Wonder if this version will have Tomorrow andDown in the Depths.
Congrats, sir!
Now shut the hell up and don't post anything until George gets here!! :)
The porto-potties have arrived at the Annette house - that does not bode well for the future and I suspect the house will be gone in a week. I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't know who would buy a house and let it sit for a year, other than a developer looking to tear down and build and make a quick turnaround profit.
You have to go back a couple of pages to understand the above post.
I have become addicted to "Foyle's War."
I wish that Joshie could throw some of that work your way, DR elmore3003.
What is normal?
Recovery vibes to DR Ginny.

I'm into "Father Brown" and "Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries" these days.

Thanks, DR Jeanne. I'm fine, and reassured that I made the right decision not to put my 96-year-old mother through the cardiology work-up the ER recommended last February. Her assisted living doctor agreed with me and so does my sister. Couldn't see her withstanding either the echocardiogram like I had yesterday or a nuclear stress test.
I spent a considerable amount of time this morning scheduling two eye surgeries, three post-ops, one pre-op, and then rescheduling a dental appointment to accommodate the above. I am continually amazed at how little information patients are given, and of that which IS given, how much is contradictory. I know it's not just UCLA.
When today's scheduler person said, "Now get out a piece of paper and a pencil," and "Write this down," I bit my tongue. Surely the admin staff can be taught to be clear, concise, and professional. I have no doubt that UCLA can attract top-notch doctors, but their admin staff REALLY needs some improvement!
Today I saw a musical named HAMILTON.
It's only in previews, but I predict big things for it. Call me clairvoyant. :)
I've had a few encounters with raccoons. They can be quite aggressive. They're also heavy enough that when they're on your roof you really wonder what the dickens is up there.

Is it about the watch company?
Or the appliance company (along with -Beach)?

It probably took a year to get the building permit for the new house.
After lunch I went to Central Pastry to replace the items I'd bought for Mom on Monday (we ate those, knowing they'd be stale by today) and visited her unannounced. She was OK, which I expected because if something acute happens the nurse calls me. Don't know what was going on the other day.

I just threw a little money at a "problem": I bought a power washer for cleaning the deck. It's a low-powered one, which is all you want for deck or siding work, and will do so much better than scrubbing the thing like a charwoman. So that is my day tomorrow, getting the dirt and mildew out of the wood. And then I can go buy the stain or paint or whatever I'm going with.
I've had a few encounters with raccoons. They can be quite aggressive. They're also heavy enough that when they're on your roof you really wonder what the dickens is up there.
A few years ago, there were several local cats that had been attacked (and a couple killed!) by some raccoons. :o
Back from a jog and seeing another first for me in Studio City - a free-roaming coyote. One can only wonder what the HELL is going on here.
While some may think I'm over doing it, I'm not. I've been busy at work but when it hits about 3:00 and I get tired, I wind things down and come home. My doctor cleared me to lift things last Friday. He said if it hurts don't lift it otherwise I'm fine. And my exercise is primarily walking. Not doing anything else.
I had a raccoon try to rip his way into my house. The night before that she was looking in the window at Callie.
