I could post a few more, I guess, just to build my numbers a bit.

I'm not going to break any records, of course, but it's nice to have "round" numbers once in a while.

I think this one is round enough.

I spent a considerable amount of time this morning scheduling two eye surgeries, three post-ops, one pre-op, and then rescheduling a dental appointment to accommodate the above. I am continually amazed at how little information patients are given, and of that which IS given, how much is contradictory. I know it's not just UCLA.

When today's scheduler person said, "Now get out a piece of paper and a pencil," and "Write this down," I bit my tongue. Surely the admin staff can be taught to be clear, concise, and professional. I have no doubt that UCLA can attract top-notch doctors, but their admin staff REALLY needs some improvement!

Recovery vibes to DR Ginny.

Thanks, DR Jeanne.  I'm fine, and reassured that I made the right decision not to put my 96-year-old mother through the cardiology work-up the ER recommended last February.  Her assisted living doctor agreed with me and so does my sister.  Couldn't see her withstanding either the echocardiogram like I had yesterday or a nuclear stress test.

Yesterday I was at a different UCLA office and have gotten to know one of the nurses there a bit. She told me that her health insurance is with Kaiser and that she's now on Doctor #5. She's looking for someone who listens and will answer her questions and intends to keep looking until she finds a doctor who will. I asked if one of the nurses could help. She said that when she asked a nurse she was just told to ask the doctor; no one would tell her anything. My friend the nurse is not a demanding person in any way--just the opposite. Being a medical professional doesn't help get you through the medical bureaucracy.

I'm into "Father Brown" and "Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries" these days.

Loved them both! I'm waiting on Season 3 for each of them.

I saw some of that sort of thing with my dad. Just because we have the technology to do certain things doesn't mean we should do them. I'm glad you feel comfortable with your decisions.

Today I saw a musical named HAMILTON.

It's only in previews, but I predict big things for it.  Call me clairvoyant.  :)

Seriously, it's quite excellent.  Though I think the plethora of near-rhymes will upset some people.

I've had a few encounters with raccoons. They can be quite aggressive. They're also heavy enough that when they're on your roof you really wonder what the dickens is up there.

Jrand, why are you afraid your slide show would be taken down?  Because of the music or the images?

I find that quite a bit.

Sorry you're experiencing that.
