Well, you've read the notes, the notes felt like yesterday's notes today, and now it is time for you to post until yesterday's cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PERPETUITY!
-
First post after BK!

First post after BK!
Originally, I typed "First oat after BK!"

I wonder what that means?
-
Eat your oats, dearie! :)

DR Cillaliz - here's hoping you feel better, PRONTO!
-
Happy birthday to Penny O. Who was one of my bridesmaids.
-
Happy Birthday to Dan (the man)!
-
Good morning, all! Life goes on.
-
I will work today on the SATB version of the Dreidel Song. Now that the one version is actually written, all I need to do is rethink where the vocal parts will now be reassigned.
-
At 10:00 this morning I'm meeting my friend Kyle Guglielmo for coffee. I haven't seen him since we finished recording ROBERTA in February last year. He played one of the Collegians.
-
On my way home I will stop at Holy Trinity and pray for my friend.

I am so poor I have absolutely no Christmas spirit this season. I need to drag out a few things to rev up my spirits. I'm so damned poor that I do not know if anyone will be receiving anything from me.
I had counted on this orchestration job for the NYC Gay Men's Chorus and the Philharmonic to cover the holidays and pay for new glasses, but after being asked about my availability, I never heard another word from the Chorus. The concert's tonight, and I clearly did not work on it. Color me bitter.
-
Good morning, all.
Friday, baby. Friday.
Coffee!

Happiest of Birthdays to DR PENNYo

Happiest of birthdays to DR DAN

That's a bummer DR ELMORE. Hopefully next year will be better. Have fun visiting your friend!

I watched about half of a movie on The Fox Channel (Retro) Collection:
Holiday for Lovers based on a play by Ronald Alexander who also wrote Time Out for Ginger - which was made into Billie a Patty Duke movie.
This particular CinemaScope and DeLuxe Color extravaganza stars Clifton Webb and Jane Wyman as the parents of Jill St. John and Carol Lynley. I'm not sure any of the stars traveled to Sao Paolo, but their doubles spent a lot of time walking around the town.
Some of it was amusing:
"Well we should be happy for her that she is studying under Eduardo Borrosos."
"'With...' can we please say 'studying with'!"

It's really, really Friday!!

Happy Birthday to Penny O.

Happy Birthday to Dan (the Man).

After all the critics "Best Picture" awards it has been receiving, I've been toying with the idea of renting the new MAD MAX movie, even though it's no really my cup of tea.
And, after reading BK's comments on the picture, I'm still not sure if I want to see it.
Of course, I'm not really sure if I want to see the new STAR WARS movie either.
:-\
-
Yesterday or the day before, I forgot to write on the TOD, that on Friday evenings we watched a show on CBS called YOU ARE THERE.
It always took us to the site of some world event that had happened that week. It was always entertaining. I think Walter Cronkite hosted it. It was a filmed show, so it wasn't like the news, but it told more about at least one story that had been reported that week.
-
Hmmmm.....the description online says that the series covered historical events. I wonder what show I am thinking of?
-
AH! I am thinking of Eyewitness to History!
-
Good morning, all.
Mega vibes for everyone.
-
I loved Mad Max as an action movie, just as I had loved Road Warrior. Pure adrenaline rush.
Best picture of the year? Nope. Enjoyable, yes.
-
Happy birthday, PennyO!

Happy birthday, Dan (the Man)!

TOD:
Mark has been on a live theater-going spree, taking me to many shows in a short period of time, mostly as a surprise. Last week we saw Alice Ripley in a tiny dinner theater club (where no dinner was served) performing a mostly-Sondheim cabaret show. Then, on Tuesday we saw Idina Menzel in "If/Then" and last night we say "Guys and Dolls". I happened to mention to Mark that with as many musicals we've seen, there are some really classic musicals we've never seen and I haven't even seen the movie versions. For instance, we've never seen "Hello Dolly" or "South Pacific" and I've never seen the movies either...shamefull, really. So, Mark sought to rectify that a bit when he saw that "Guys and Dolls" (another musical we'd never seen) was coming to Hollywood. He knows I like to be familiar with the music before I see a show, so he made me CDs of both "If/Then" and "Guys and Dolls", so I've been listening to both in my car on my way to and from work. As you can imagine, I really was already familiar with about half the songs in "Guys and Dolls". The CDs kind of spoil the surprise, but he only gives them to me two days before the show, and he's already bought the tickets, so it's not like I had any say in the matter.
-
Sounds like some fun theatergoing, Amy.
-
TOD:
CD: A Broadway Christmas, A Hollywood Christmas and Sandy's Christmas album.
DVD: Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights and The Bishop's Wife
Car CD: Stephen King's Bazaar of Broken Dreams

I am home from a nice break with my friend Kyle. I hope to see him in January of a workshop of a new musical based on "The Return of the Native."
-
Happy Birthday to Dan (the Man)
-
Happy Birthday to Penny O!
-
I'm up, I'm up - almost eight hours of sleep and now must choose more songs. It must be done and so I shall do it.
-
Friday afternoon greetings! I spent the morning cleaning up from last night's coloring party, consulting my holiday baking recipes, making a shopping list, and packing for an overnight trip to Lima. After lunch I went to the grocery and will soon make gingerbread cookie dough that will chill until we get back tomorrow afternoon. I'll bake gingerbread men and reindeer tomorrow evening and decorate them Sunday.
Tomorrow morning is Laurel's funeral followed by a luncheon at a nice Italian restaurant.
-
I am home from a nice break with my friend Kyle. I hope to see him in January of a workshop of a new musical based on "The Return of the Native."
Another one? Wasn''t Dance on a Country Grave based on Return of the Native? Hated that book in high school. Eustacia Vye was one of the most irritating of heroines.
-
This feels like the day that would not end.
-
Return of the Native.
That's what I always think of when I come home from rehearsal.
-
Had a chili, cheese and onion omelet.
-
When I went out this morning, Holy Trinity was cloed, so I've just come back from praying for my friend. I'm pondering dinner at the moment. Broccoli, I think.

I believe you may be right, but consider the plethora of Pride and Prejudice musicals at the moment. After BK's sad history with To Kill A Mockingbird, a public domain property is easier for rights, and perhaps this will turn out well. I never considered Miss Vye a heroine, but I haven't read the novel, which I really liked, in over forty years. The Hardy novel I really cannot get into is Tess of the D'Ubervilles.

Topic of the Day:
On my Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablet, the soundtrack to "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Since I downloaded it from my library through Hoopla (https://www.hoopladigital.com/home), it expires in a week, which is enough time to listen to it several times. :)

Tonight is our last night in San Juan. If anyone plans to share some of our photos here you had better hurry before we have ones up from a new destination.

Enjoy your last night in San Juan, Jane!

And now, I'm off to my parents' house. My sister and niece are going, too, so it'll be the family.
Be back later.

Thanks George.

I will be reading a paperback soon, a reminder why I enjoy my Nook.

Here we are on the west side of beautiful Lima, OH. We don't often arrive here in the dark.

82 posts? Seriously?

Is this Christmas Day?
-
Oh excuse me. Good evening!
-
I have been sick all day today.
-
I woke up abruptly this morning with a touch of the stomach flu.
-
Why did I say a touch? It is more than a touch.
-
The good part of it, is that I had to cancel out going to see the play version of CHRISTMAS STORY.

One post more.

Ginny, you will staying in Lima until after church on Sunday?
No, this is Fr. Richard's week off. And we have to be back here Thursday for a 2pm Christmas Eve service. He'll also be here next Sunday, but I'm making no promises.
I would much rather be home tonight and tomorrow for some Christmas cocooning.
-
Did they move Christmas Eve?
-
Sorry, Thursday is Christmas Eve!
-
I could have deleted that post, but we need the count.

Good news regarding Elmore's friend!

I thought Nicky was going to have to go to the emergency vet last night.

He was having some bathroom problems.

So, now I have the problems and he is fine.

I can't believe how much rain we have had this
week month.

And another storm is due tomorrow night.

And they had over two feet of snow on the ski slopes.

Actually, last year they DID move the Christmas Eve service to the Sunday before to spare us the midweek trip.

I am still battling this damn cold
-
I did get up and got my Christmas Shopping done. There was a big sale starting today and I wanted to get my dad a sweater and some little perfume bottles for mom (It's one of the things I get her every year). I also found something for Gabe. I ordered the rest on Amazon and am done.
-
Then I went to the office and picked up a big box of work and returned a call
-
I was home by noon and have pretty much blown my nose and sat around like a lump since then
-
I did make chicken and noodles and have been eating that most of the day
-
I'm very happy that today is Friday and I only have one thing to do all weekend.
-
I'm going to work Monday and Tuesday and then take time off work. I'm not going to my parents' until Christmas Day and will come back the 26th. I have lots of things I want to do around the house so I'm looking forward to a vacation here
-
When I went in the office Bob seemed concerned that I showed up when I have a cold. Good grief, he was sick as a dog and worked half days without a thought about me. I was only there a few minutes. He'll live
-
I'm doing pretty well with Advil cold and sinus, but when it wears off....wham. It could be a long night
-
Does anyone have a fitbit and what does it really do?
-
Everyone I know who has a fit bit seems to lose them
-
5 guests? Come on in and post!
-
Where is everyone? You'd think it was Friday night or something
-
It's going to be 43 degrees on Christmas day. That's just wrong
-
I'm watching Jimmy Kimmel
-
Today I told my mom I wanted to find the photo album she made for me of my photos as a child. I said I don't have any. She said "That's too bad, there are lots of me" She never ceases to make me laugh
-
So, my brother and sister in law opened my present from my sister to see what she gave me. Good grief.
-
It was sent to their house, but it was marked for me. I think my sister would blow a gasket if she knew that
-
Last year she sent them to my mom and I got my Christmas present in July
-
My brother said they don't want to exchange presents with me. So I spent the money I would have spent on their gift on myself.
-

Loathe Tess. Loved The Mayor of Casterbridge and Far from the Madding Crowd.
-
Good grief I can't think of anything to say

I think I need ice cream....

Good for you.
-
I think I need ice cream....
I know I do.

Thanks JohnG. Well I actually ordered it before he said that. I wanted a class bowl for my Kitchenaid stand up mixer and found one on sale. So....
-
It's a class glass bowl.....
-
Page 6. Zip a di do dah

Class glass has class.
-
I'm going to go get a bowl of chocolate chip ice cream
-
Ushered for the symphony pops concert tonight. Really a lot of fun.
-
Victor Herbert's March of the Ztoys and Offenbach's Doll's Song were both highlights. Loved the song-along to a few carols.
-
Diane Penning, a soprano with a pronounced vibrato, sang (often quite well). There was a handbell choir, the Mastersingers and Santa Claus. All fun and festive.
Helped put me in the spirit.
-
Well, I should have known that you two would help!
-
:)
-
Even if I'm far from getting everything done. People may get their presents by Epiphany.
-
I have had my ice cream....I am happy
-
Hot wings have arrived and they are incendiary.
-
I am happy, too.
-
And I have the hiccups.
-
I am eating some crackers.
-
I don't exchange too many gifts. Stuff for the grand nephews, a family gift for my sister's family and stuff for my parents. My friends and I generally go out for dinner together instead of exchanging gifts. I like that
-
I have no interest in STAR WARS.
-
Mom gives me money so I get a gift with it, this year a watch.
-
And the cats get a gift for me

and I get a gift or two for me.

It works out fine

I have cut way back but I still like to give out stocking stuffers. Little ways of saying thank you.
-
I have no interest in STAR WARS.
I'm watching the cast on Jimmy Kimmel. I didn't think I had any interest, but I'm remembering how much I loved the first three. I didn't see the prequels. But I really do want to see this

I have no interest in STAR WARS.
Star What?

I sat through the first STAR WARS, and that was more enough for me.

And since tomorrow is a busy day. Good night
-
I don't know how you do it all, Vixmom.
-
While drifting off I shall ponder the phrase " a field of fingers"
-
What is a PEO?
I can't tell you what it really stands for, but it's an international philanthropic educational organization. We focus on education for women, lots of scholarship funds etc. Cottey College in Nevada Mo. is a PEO college.
-
I don't know how you do it all, Vixmom.
Well I am shedding myriad responsibilities in January I have submitted my resignation to Council, stepping down from my post as head of social ministry and turned over the responsibility of drawing up the lay readers schedule . with my Pastor's support I also instituted a new policy of " no volunteers = no coffee hour". After a couple of Sundays with no coffee and cake and socializing between services the volunteer sign up sheet was full
-
So now I make sure that the supplies are all there and the coffee machines are started but I do not do all the setting up, serving and cleaning up any more

I have not done any Christmas cards yet.

Hello, George!
Hi, Tom!
-
How was your evening with the folks?
-
Is anyone watching, or has anyone watched, "Sinatra: Voice for a Century" on PBS? I'm enjoying it.

Is that different than the concert that was on last week?
-
How was your evening with the folks?
It was nice. My mom made dinner (chicken schnitzel) and my sister brought chocolate bread pudding for dessert. We then played our family favorite card game, Phase 10.
-
Is anyone watching, or has anyone watched, "Sinatra: Voice for a Century" on PBS? I'm enjoying it.
Is that different than the concert that was on last week?
I don't think so. This doesn't indicate that it's a repeat. I don't know what was on last week.
-
Bernadette Peters is singing "It Never Entered My Mind" right now.
-
Is Phase 10 a card game or a board game?
-
Who are some of the other artists?
-
No, it is not the same one.
-
Is Phase 10 a card game or a board game?
It's a card game (http://www.amazon.com/Mattel-W4729-Phase-Card-Game/dp/B004MU9V8Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1450508956&sr=8-1&keywords=Phase+10) like gin rummy.
-
Who are some of the other artists?
Sting, Chris Botti, Fantasia, Sutton Foster, Billy Porter, and Christina Aguilera. It's hosted by Seth MacFarlane.
-
Nine
-
Good night, George!
-
Good night, George!
Good night, Tom!
-
Page nine? Really?
-
I spent most of the day working on a new song - I began it not knowing if it would work out or not - the subject will definitely be in the show, but my uncertainty was because I wasn't sure if there should be a song attached, but I wrote the first part and really liked it - it took a while to get the scan right and the layout right, but I'm really enjoying it now. At the moment it's two short verses and a chorus and a bridge that turns itself into an ending - I think that's how you'd describe it but maybe there's some other way. Whether I write another section is anyone's guess - the way it is now would lead us directly into the bit I want to do. I do love the title, which is Every Wednesday Night, and those who lived in LA during the 50s and 60s will know from that title exactly what the song is about. But I could also go with my first title, which was RIchmond 9-5171, which I also like.
-
Guess I should write some notes.
