Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Kritzerland 65, and now it is time for you to post until the 65 cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: LUDIC!
-
First post after BK and before DR Jane!
-
You barely beat me. I was typing that I was first so I deleted my incorrect pist.
-
My eye was hurting so much it woke me at 11:30.
-
After putting a hot wash cloth on it for about 20 minutes I am slowly improving.
-
I have a book checked out from the library that says minus 1 day left, yet I still have the book. Once it is returned it will automatically check out on my other account.
-
I went to my aaccount and found out I have 7 hours left on the book.

Better get crackin' on that book, Jane!
-
Congrats, BK, on another great Kritzerland show!
-
Congrats to BK on the Kritzerland show!!
-
Good morning to all
-
I wanted to see a cast photo before I posted this.
Eric Peterson is one of the participants of the documentary film The Standbys. It shows him when he was a Standby for Shrek later in the run. His story is interesting because of what happens to him.

Good morning, all.
And congratulations on a wonderful Kritzerland show!
-
Thanks for the heads up on today's GOOGLE theme, DR George. It's a winner.
-
Good morning, all! I had a very long solid sleep last night, which was something i guess my body needed.
-
I had a strange dream about the now-destroyed McGlinn hard drives and attempts to catalogue their contents.
-
Good news about last night's show!
-
Today, I am going to begin another round of cartons for the Miami University Library. I have much to send, and I will be glad to get a lot of things out of the apartment.
-
Interesting to hear that Boswell used the iPad. I've figured the Pro size, especially, will be a game changer in this.
I'm not popping for a Pro yet, but I'm going to take the personal leap of using my iPad in a show this summer. I have to get the page-turn pedals and start getting the hang of that aspect of things.
-
And, how heartening to hear about the repeats and codas defeating the likes of a Lanny. :)
-
Good morning, all.
Congratulations to BK and company.
-
The storm knocked out the power. JB awake me with a few squawks and I rolled out of bed to discover it was 7 am.
-
Thankfully I'm working from home today, so all I had to do was log on.

My favorite review of Seth Ridetsky's new musical DISASTER: It's possible to imagine a mood that may only be satisfied by a couple of hours of watching really good performers having a lark with really bad material

I was really hoping it was at least Thursday by now, but it's only Wednesday. It should be a beautiful day-- whatever day it is.
-
OMG! After only a week my IRS refund landed in my bank this morning. What a nice surprise.
-
So, where's the NY State refund?
-
So, I've been spending some time with 1776 -- listening, reading, playing -- and this truly has to be one of the more complex and busiest of orchestrations. I think that neither the original Broadway cast nor London cast recordings was up to capturing its fullness and complexity.

Congratulations on that, DR Elmore! :)

Great hearing about the show last night and seeing the lovely photos. The Kritzerland shows now qualify for Social Security!
-
Page Two.
I hope DR TCB has fun at the waterfront today.
-
The news lady was just walking across the studio and fell down.....maybe that will teach them to sit down when they do the news!
-
Yikes! Which station or channel, DR Jrand65?
-
Yes DR JEANNE - that is typical Mooresville. That corner is in the middle of town, and the buildings go in each direction for about two blocks on each side of the street....then the houses start.
Here's a smaller photo coming to the intersection from the south.....you can see the video store in the upper right corner.

Ya got that right! The final cue "Church Bells" is a real mess: all three recordings - OBC, OLC, and soundtrack - all have differences and Eddie Sauter's full score is really vague. Joshie and I are still stymied by it.
-
We also think that the rental materials, which may be both a re-orchestration for a smaller London orchestra (22 players) and the national tour, has its own set of problems. Encores! will present the original orchestration for the first time since the original show closed in 1972.
-
Joshie and I are still stymied by it.
I trust you and Joshie are reasonably satisfied with any executive decisions you've had to make?

Re: "Downton Abbey" finale -- POSSIBLE SPOILAGE if you have NOT seen the finale
Allow me to chime in and say I was pleased with it. It does seem, however, that quite a lot was addressed in that final episode.
Since none of it was bad news and none of it had anyone at odds with someone else, it was a refreshing change of pace.
I suspected much of what was going to happen before it happened....as I was watching, that is. I knew that Mrs.Crawley would get access to Lord Merton with the Dowager's help. I knew that Thomas would come back to replace Mr. Carson. I knew that the Bates' baby would be born during the show.
I guess I knew all of that because that is what it would take to tie up all the loose strings.
Happily for me, I watched the show as it aired. The BAFTA program honoring the show was recorded on my DVR and not watched until last evening.
I am so VERY GLAD I didn't watch it before seeing the finale. Half that audience were cast and crew of the show. It was a love fest FOR the cast and crew. I found it a bit "twee" and a lot of the actors tried their best to let us know they are just "ordinary" folks and not like their characters on the show.
As for me, I like a little "mystery". I know they're playing roles...that they're acting. I just don't, necessarily, want to see them acting silly on a stage or in an audience.
-
There! I've said it, and I feel better for having done so.
-
DR Ron, I envy your sleep and am glad the C-PAP is working so well.
It's simply amazing to me how I let so much time go by before addressing this.

Is your battery always fully charged when you feel well?

I often go to 50% to 75%. On a good night I might only go down 15-25%.

Reasons to "unfriend" someone on Facebook:
I've unfriended a few folks on Facebook over the years, and I've just recently unfriended a person for a reason completely different from any I've done before.
1. I've unfriended people who slipped past my radar and revealed themselves to be completely obstinate, nearly sociopathic, individuals who criticize everything and everyone. These are spotted rather easily and losing them is also done easily.
2. I've unfriended someone I knew in the 1970s when he worked with me in the Navy. I thought he was kind of a jerk then, but 40 years or so had passed, and I was glad to reach out to him. Things went well for a couple of months and then one day he just lit into me over having "an opinion" he did not share. There was nothing personal about him or me. I concluded that "once a jerk, always a jerk" is likely a sound adage.
3. I've unfriended several individuals who sought my friendship because of things I'd posted on a variety of subjects. I'm always willing to include, and to be included by, others in my daily reading and posting who share similar tastes. BUT...a few of these folks turn into ravening loons....they suddenly disagree on something rather inconsequential (such as my personal preference for a composer) and they attack my opinion rather than just positing a different opinion. Then they won't let it go but continue following me around and attacking everything. They even send me private messages telling me how wrong I am and listing their "sound" reasons for converting me to their way of thinking. Those people do not last very long on my Friends list.
4. I unfriended a longtime friend who, one evening, was posting while he was drinking. He solicited opinions from his friends on who they might support in the next election. When I posted, he became ugly and confrontational. I dropped him on the spot and will not respond to anything he posts anywhere (I still see him post because we share friends whose posts we both respond to).
5. I unfriended another longtime friend (and, I thought, one of the all-around good guys in this world) who was drinking while he posted. He became absolutely belligerent when I posted an opinion he did not share about a film score. I dropped him immediately, as well.
(I grew up with an alcoholic father. I abhor alcohol-induced belligerence. Anyone who is drinking should never post on Facebook while doing so!!!)
6. Yesterday, I unfriended someone I admire and respect. My dealings with this person have always been civil and supportive of each other's opinion. Once, last week, this person wrote something political to which I agreed and shared a few meme's supporting the viewpoint being discussed. I received a private message letting me know how much my friendship meant but that the memes were NOT what was wanted in the discussion and had been removed. Yesterday, this person posted a video. I believe that in so doing, an invitation had been issued to discuss what we saw. I made a comment about the "star" of the video. I found out a bit later that my comment was NOT what was wanted in the discussion...that the intent was not to make observations about the star but to appreciate the aging star's appearance regardless of what I think of it. Oh...that hadn't been clear at all to me. I simply commented on the one thing that was apparent to me (and a couple of others who agreed with me) when watching the video The star did not look like herself any longer, probably as a result of cosmetic surgery. At that point, I realized that control, rather than sharing differing opinions, was all that mattered in this case.
Oh, well. I unfriended so that I would not be tempted to share, and possibly offend by doing so, anything on any post made by this person in the future. While I continue to respect and admire this person, I do not care to have anyone tell me what is relevant when I post a thought to a post. Facebook is a social media...what you put out there to your friends is subject to differing views...not just the ones you hold. It's not a "controlled" media.
Live and learn, I guess.

Great news. When the power when out last night, so did my machine. I did not sleep well as a result. I really need that machine.

What a sad and thought provoking book.
Any opinions on this DR"S?

I am almost done with THOSE WHO SAVE US, by Jenna Blum.
It is one of the best books I have ever read.
I think she is a very gifted writer.
I will read more of her books!!!

An HHW Millstone!!!

-
I'm up, I'm up - maybe four hours of sleep, but I may go back to bed in a bit.
-
My greatest passion in life at this point is probably writing or just plain old creating something. It's really always been that way.
-
And the publisher already called and said they're working on the interior to make it right, but as I said, what we sent them WAS right unless something weird happened with the PDF but I cannot imagine that because I printed the book from he PDF and the blacks were BLACK, so I'm pretty sure whatever happened happened on THEIR end.
-
I should see something today or tomorrow, then they have to print that and send it to me and it's all so irritating. But I'm nor ordering until I know it's up to our standards.
-
Wednesday afternoon greetings! It's another spring-like day here in SW Ohio and Richard and Rob have already been out for walks. Just taking a shower and getting dressed exhausts me...
-
...but I am feeling like getting some things done that I let slide during February, so that's encouraging.
-

DR Ron I know people who have posted something on FB and then stated they were not looking for particular responses and why they shared whatever. You could have used a heads up from the person you just unfriended.
-
Facebook is the Vast Wasteland that television used to be. It's also a bit like the Wild Wild West.
I have probably only "unfriended" two or three people in all these many years....there are a few more that I could for this reason or that....
I comment a bit less on some things - it's NOT that important to me to express my opinion on what other people say. What I think about something is usually not changed by a Facebook post, and I sincerely doubt that anything I may write on Facebook would change someone else's mind about anything.
-
I recently read Night.
What a sad and thought provoking book.
Who is the author? Is this book 1 in a trilogy?

Nice gift DR Kevin.
I don't know about CAKE or that I would watch it. I would need to know more.
I have not seen THE BOY IN THE....... It looks very interesting.
I recall thinking MY LEFT FOOT was terrific.
I thought SNIPER & JUDGE were good.

They're mixed.
I suspect, like XANADU, the camp element will keep it running for a bit. I'd see it for Kerry Butler and Adam Pascal. Personally, I am not fond of Seth Rudetsky, but I loved his book BROADWAY NIGHTS.
-
I need to walk to Staples and see if they have a desk lamp in stock. I just destroyed mine while look for something on my crowded work table.

I am almost done with THOSE WHO SAVE US, by Jenna Blum.
It is one of the best books I have ever read.
I think she is a very gifted writer.
I will read more of her books!!!
I thought it was very good. I gave it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
-
An HHW Millstone!!!
It was a good post too.
-
DR elmore did you find a lamp you like?
-
I am back from Staples, and the lamp is not in stock. It would take 7-10 days for delivery. So, once i got home, I thought i'd check Amazon. They had it, but they also had a great photo of the lamp base. Once I realized that I had lost a part of the base when the lamp collapsed, I went back tyo my work area. found the missing piece, repaired it and I'm back in business.
-
I've also packed two cartons for the library, and after I left Staples, I realized I should have purchased wrapping tape. There's always tomorrow.
I'd like to ship everything out next week.
-
DR Elmore's work area has remarkable resilience.
-
The book stuff is driving me crazy - they supposedly fixed the black to 100% (neither Grant nor I believe them about the text itself being 82% black as he did nothing different on this book from any other and the text has always been 100% black. But in fixing that all the chapter headings, the chapter titles, and the headers all turned 100% black and that's not the book design - those things are all in two different shades of gray - one dark gray and the other light gray. So now they have to put that stuff back the way it was.
-
This is insane. What is so difficult about following the parameters you've established for the last umpteen books?
-
Exactly. I've never had this problem. But they looked at Red Gold, for example, and the type there is 100% black and they're saying this isn't and we just don't get it.
-
Speaking of % - we've made a huge jump today on the Indiegogo campaign and are 99% to our goal with less that $200 to go and that's with two full days left - so once we hit the goal, which I know we will, the new goal will be to get a bit more and cover the Indiegogo/Paypal fees. But hitting the goal means the Indiegogo fees are MUCH less.
-
This is insane. What is so difficult about following the parameters you've established for the last umpteen books?
So many like to re-invent the wheel since they know they can do it better than it already is.
-
And we have not only reached our goal, we just went over it - we are now 107% funded thanks to a $1,000 producer perk being taken. So, now we just need to keep going a little further and we'll have covered the Indiegogo fees and then if we go beyond that we can add a second keyboard player to the band and that would be incredible.
-
PAGE FOUR DANCE!!

Snuck in for the noon Lent service today and learned that a friend of mine had died. He had been suffering from Parkinson's disease for years, diagnosed just around the time he moved into his dream house with his wife. I knew this was coming, I know that his pain has ceased and yet it's left me sad.

Indiego Vibes for MR BK.
Dance Studio thunderstorm vibes for DR JOHN G
Congrats to DR RLP on his millstone
-
Vibes for DR JOHNG and the family of his friend.

It's quarter past one in the P.M.
It's a misting afternoon....the mist is so fine that it looks like fog.
And for whatever reason, I have a bit of sinus pressure and a touch of a headache associated with it.
-
Congrats to DR RLP on his millstone
There are good stones and bad stones
And curbstones and glad stones
And touchstones and such stones as them
[Such as them]
There are big stones and small stones
And grind stones and gall stones, but Millstones are a gem!
There are milestones, there are whet stones
There's a cherry, there's a yellow, there's a blue
But we don't want any old stone, only Millstones will do!
Moon stones, sun stones, we all scream for one stone
Our dear Millstone, we love you!
MILLSTONE!
-
That is fantastic, BK.
-
And what a wonderful round millstone, DR Ron Pulliam.

Been watching my DVR'd Lincoln Center Act One.

It was 77 F here today. Anyone who believes global warming is a joke can kiss my butt.
In 1974, I was in Manhattan for the St Patrick's Day weekend to catch the first week of CANDIDE at the Broadway Theatre. The entire weekend was freezing.
-
Congrats to DR ELMORE......think what fresh hell it would have been had you brought home a new lamp and THEN found the missing piece!!!!
I would have been fit to be tied!
-
I've had a lovely dinner of pizza and garden salad. Tonight I'll begin Season 5 of DOWNTON ABBEY, which ius where I left off, then watch the 6th Season.
Then I'm beginning my Shakespeare marathon.
-
So tired.
-
Mystified by the difficulty in finishing this song - I'm going to sketch out the rest of the lyric no matter how awful, and then fix it after a shower.

Turn the wifi off until you finish the book.
That's what I've been saying! :D
LOL I didn't want to keep the book since I hadn't even begun it. I let it return and then the same book ,on our 2nd library account, automatically checked out. :)
If I had really wanted the book I would have turned off the wifi.
-
I went to my aaccount and found out I have 7 hours left on the book.

Fortunately I planned ahead by putting a hold on both accounts.
I just meant for a few hours while you finished the book.

It was around 50F here today. If the snow would just melt I would be very happy.

We were around 50, with loads of rain.

Richard and I left here right after lunch to do some errands and visit Mom. It was 74 degrees and gorgeous and I thought we'd be able to take her outside in her wheelchair. By the time we got there, about an hour later, it had begun to rain. We took her for an indoor walk instead to her storage locker to put away her tub of Christmas decorations and bring back the ones for Easter.
-
When we got home Rob helped us shrink-wrap our Christmas tree and get it to the basement.
Can you tell I'm finally feeling better?

Richard went to the local BBQ joint to bring home our dinner and, after we ate, I assembled 2 cinnamon pecan coffee cakes. They're baking now and making the house smell so good! One is for an AAUW meeting on Saturday and the other is for us. That one will be gone before Saturday, I'm sure...

How does one shrink-wrap a Christmas tree?
-
Carefully, DR Jane, very carefully ;)
We have an industrial size roll of plastic wrap and I hold that while Richard and Rob twirl the tree sections. It went much more smoothly this year than last (our first for this technique).
-
We just went up to 108% and I know one perk will be going in the morning. And I'm lowering the dinner with Richard Sherman perk by $250 so that if up to six people want to pitch in it would cost them less than 200 each.
-
The good news is we're fifty bucks away from covering all the Indiegogo fees and if we go up a bit higher we'll cover the Paypal fees, too. What a day this has been, what a rare mood I'm in.
-
Oh, and SAG pension called and said they can't start the direct deposit until the May check - they're a little nuts - I sent them everything they asked for including a bank statement, but now they also want one cancelled check I've cashed. So, they'll have that now or shortly but it delayed it by a month so the April check is going to be mailed, but not here - to the UPS Store address.

Wow, and the tree is left intact with all of the decorations on it?

Oh, no, the only decorations we leave on are the lights on the top section. I'd packed away all the other ornaments right after I got back from Boston in January. But Rob got sick with bronchitis about that time and then I started coughing, so the bare tree has sat in the family room until today.

Thank you all for vibes and wishes of sympathy.
-
Great news that you're feeling better, Ginny.
-
Watching a silly bit of nonsense called Down to Earth with Rita Hayworth. Very much a Columbia musical of the time. She's good, and the Jack Cole choreography is just a hoot.
-
Great news on the Indigogo campaign.
-
Great news that you're feeling better, Ginny.
Thank you, DR John G.
I'm sorry to hear about your friend.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Glad to see that you're feeling better, DR Ginny. I can understand wanting to get out for a few hours! I hope you'll be able to regain your strength at your leisure and not feel compelled to do more than what you're comfortable with.
Vibes for your full recovery.
-
So sorry about your friend, John G. It's always difficult to lose one.
-
Good news on the Indiegogo campaign.
-
I'm off to watch Charlie Chan. I loved these stories as a child and I love them still.
-
I'm starting Straight Outta Compton tonight. Really enjoying it, but I'm fading fast.
-
Good night, all.
-
I went to my aaccount and found out I have 7 hours left on the book.
I took a speed reading class in high school. Sounds like you could use it about now
-
Finished with my viewing - four episodes of House of Cards and the first third of Exodus - an advance peek at the upcoming Twilight Time Blu-ray.

I can speed read, taught myself as a teen. I have to work at slowing down when I get too engrossed in a book.

Snuck in for the noon Lent service today and learned that a friend of mine had died. He had been suffering from Parkinson's disease for years, diagnosed just around the time he moved into his dream house with his wife. I knew this was coming, I know that his pain has ceased and yet it's left me sad.
My condolences on the loss of your friend, and I apologize for missing your sad post.
-
Good evening!
-
My condolences to DR John and to his friend's family.
-
Congratulations to DR Ron on his millstone!
-
Glad to hear that Ginny is finally on the road to recovery.
-
The oncologist has given my friend, Sandy, a prognosis of 12 to 18 months.
-
He will start chemo next Tuesday.
-
Look at us on page six, with two hours to go.
-
Sorry Kate, I can't help you. I have not read any of those books.
-
The Seattle explosion this morning was really something.
-
I am sorry Tom. Vibes the chemo works and Sandy has more time.
-
Another mass shooting in Pennsylvania.
-
At least 5 people dead, others injured.
-
Lunch at the waterfront was nice, but very rainy.
-
Vibes and condolences all around.
-
Finally finished the song. I'm very happy with it - don't really know why it took so long. Singing through it I thought, "It's so simple." Sometimes those take the most time. Part of the problem was the layout of the song - the structure's a little weird, but once I got comfortable with it, I was okay.
-
Gee, I am just full of good news tonight.
-
I am sorry Tom. Vibes the chemo works and Sandy has more time.
Thanks Jane. I haven't talked to Sandy yet. He texted me the news, but he said he was very tired tonight.
-
I decided to respect his privacy. I will call him tomorrow and see if we can meet for lunch or coffee before Tuesday.
-
The wind is finally starting to pick up here.
-
The heaviest winds are supposed to be between midnight and three a.m.

-
It's an evening of a cappella singing and competing...and a lot of fun with some (usually) great singing.
-
Whoever wins this night goes to the National Finals in California. The grand prize of the finals is a recording contract.
