Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a tale of two Roberts, and now it is time for you to post until the tail of two cows come home.

And the word of the day is: SOMATICIZE!

Last day of the spring 2016 tax season!
-
good morning to all
-
I wonder if we will be getting last minute tax papers being sent via Fedex today
-
Good morning, all!
-
I went to bed early, and at 12:30 I was still wide awake. Then the leg pains began, and God alone knows when I fell asleep. Around 6:15 I reset the alarm for 7:00 and tried to sleep. I hope i am not a zombie at Columbia and that I actually accomplish some work.
-
There will not be enough coffee today.

One minute I was typing busy day today into my iPad and the next I was waking up in the recliner with a blanket thrown over me and it was morning
-
And I must shower dress and head to work.
-
Good morning, all.
Coffee!
-
I am back to beautiful downtown River City today.
Hell Week. And that's a literal description this time.
-
That Alexander the Great film sounds like a trip. I'll have to get that one. I have the other one here waiting for a good watching, which will be my first time, too.
-
And that's interesting about the Beverly Hills Music Hall. I saw very few movies there, too, and don't know why. I even lived right in the area for a while and don't remember going there much if at all. No idea.
-
Oy! The John McGlinn madness with the Library of Congress continues and it's working my last nerve.
-
In just the past year, the films of Jacques Rivette have rapidly shot to the top tier of my list. They are "art films", make no mistake, and not everyone's cup of tea. While usually witty and upbeat, they're long and can be hard to commit to and follow. For films shot in Paris, they're essential.
-
Oy! The John McGlinn madness with the Library of Congress continues and it's working my last nerve.
Oy! and OMG!
Does this involve Man from Philadelphia stuff and nonsense?

Philadelphia is peripheral. The Library appears to be the problem today.

Rain and thunderstorms here, which the weather service says will last until Friday. So much for a free ticket to the boat parade tonight.
I faced high waters on the road while coming to work this morning. My boss and a coworker both turned around and have decided it was safer to work from home today.
-
Lousy timing for all this rain.
-
Howdy Do, All of You!
-
All day yesterday felt like Saturday to me.
I suppose "Grantchester" broke the spell.
Has anyone noticed how the priest is only "seldom" seen in priest's garb this season? Every time I see him in his collar, I'm taken aback.

DR Ron, my brother is a fan of the show. We watched a few episodes of season 1 and stopped, and the 1st episode of season 2. We watched enough to know what you are talking about. 😆
-
I have been playing with my new tablet instead of reading.
-
Now to get up and play with my new computer.
-
Bryan purchased Google Play Music for the family and I need to figure out how to do it on my phone.
-
I also need to figure out how to stop Facebook notifications when I am reading.
-
DR KATE and DR RLP - I forgot about THE V.I.P.S. which is indeed a very good film.....everyone looks great....and it's very involving.
One of my favorite bits is about Orson Welles and his Italian actress who can't act - played by an actress who can't act....and probably doesn't know she's the joke....
Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton both look so good in this movie, and you also have Maggie Smith, Rod Taylor, and Laurence Harvey.....not too shabby.
-
Monday afternoon greetings! I've been up since before 7, but puttering a bit. It's gloriously sunny and warm here today.
-
DR Ginny, now that I have begun reading My Antonia I cannot imagine a woman narrating it.
I know, right? George Guidall was perfect.

I think his reading of Beach Music and I Know This Much Is True are better than the books themselves.
-
Good afternoon!
-
I haven't written that in a while.
-
First full day at sea.
-
I played Cinderella last night.
-
My coach turned into a pumpkin about ten feet from my door.
-
I wasn't keeping close attention to my battery lights.
-
I was at the bow of the ship (on my deck) when the battery started its death beep.
-
DR TCB, what a nice surprise!
-
I tried to push it as fast as I could without over stressing the battery.
-
I am home from Columbia to encounter more bad news from the Library of Congress on the McGlinn front. The left had down in DC knows not what the right hand is up to. This is so irritating.
-
Everyone with cabins on the port side of Deck 9 heard my scooter mournfully beep every six feet.
-
And then ten feet from my cabin, it died.
-
On the Columbia front, I skimmed through my Act one questions. Tomorrow, Act Two.
Unless I hear from Joshie.
-
DR TCB, I hope a dashing steward came to your rescue.
-
Fortunately, the cabin steward was in my cabin and heard my my plaintive (x-rated) cry.
-
Together we got the scooter into my cabin, although I did trip over the wheel and almost took a header.
-
DR TCB, I hope a dashing steward came to your rescue.
Not really dashing, but he is nice.
-
Although, frankly I dislike fist bumps with people who are total strangers.
-
Anyway, the bad news was that I was trapped in my cabin for the rest of the night.
-
My handicap accessible cabin is twice the size of a standard cabin.
-
I was thinking of holding a dance in the cabin, but I don't dance, don't ask me.
-
Anyway, I wasn't tired so I watched a movie on the telly.
-
INTERSTELLER. Is that how it is spelled? (No spellcheck on this computer)
-
What a strange movie!
-
It hooked me right away, even though I kept saying to myself, "How strange!"
-
I saw it through till the end, where I noticed that it was a Christopher Nolan film.
-
DR KATE and DR RLP - I forgot about THE V.I.P.S. which is indeed a very good film.....everyone looks great....and it's very involving.
My first exposure to Maggie Smith who I thought was extraordinary in her role.
And then there is the magnificent score by Miklos Rozsa.
-
Which explains its weirdness.
-
Hello, Uncle Ron!
-
DR TCB: Does your battery re-charge?
-
Hello, Uncle Ron!
Uncle? Uncle?
I'm a nephew.
-
After the movie ended, my scooter still hadn't recharded, so I went to bed.
-
So much for the nightlife for me onboard "the Love Boat."
-
Not really. I hope that isn't trandmark infringement.
-
DR TCB: Does your battery re-charge?
Yes, it does.
-
Hello, Uncle Ron!
Uncle? Uncle?
I'm a nephew.
So that makes you my nephew?
-
When did everyone on this damn website become younger than me??
-
It is windy as heck onboard the ship today.
-
When putting chocolate syrup on my sundae, I had to account for wind drift, so the sauce didn't end up on my hand, instead of the sundae.
-
Still, it is sunny and warm on deck and the sea is fairly calm today.
-
One more post (or one moore post).
-
Four!
-
Well, I have blabbed enough for the moment.
-
Perrhaps I need to go eat again. Or maybe take a nap.
-
Perhaps do karaoke
-
Or there is Bingo, but I missed the start.
-
Three people standing in the internet cafe arguing because the daily planner said the tech guy was in at 2:00, but the posted hours say the hours are three to six.
-
Do they really have somewhere to be at three o'clock?
-
Get over it! You are on vacation.
-
God, people are strange.
-
This one lady convinced the other two people to leave their name and cabin number with her, because she was going to sit right there and wait for the tech guy at 3:00 pm.
-
They left their names with her, and at soon as they were gone, she left.
-
It is 2:10. I must have somewhere that I have to be!!
-
Later!
-
I'm the tech guy - is anyone looking for me?
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine and a half hours of sleep and I think I'm feeling a bit better today, at least so far. Must now do stuff and then get ready to pick up Lanny and then eat something easy on the tummy.
-
DR Ginny, now that I have begun reading My Antonia I cannot imagine a woman narrating it.
I know, right? George Guidall was perfect.
George Guidall is perfect on most every book he reads.
I think his reading of Beach Music and I Know This Much Is True are better than the books themselves.
DR John G, have I ever told you about the tour Richard and I had of the Recorded Books studio in NYC? We got to observe George recording Nathaniel Philbrick's Mayflower.
-

Stupid. I'm glad you found Guidall. So far I'm enjoying it and am glad I switched books.

There is a well know audio book place in Ashland, which is probably why some of the more popular Shakespeare actors were known to read the books.

Sometimes I wish I could listen to a book instead of reading.
-
Everyone with cabins on the port side of Deck 9 heard my scooter mournfully beep every six feet.
Oh no ;D
-
Fortunately, the cabin steward was in my cabin and heard my my plaintive (x-rated) cry.
What a relief!!!
-
DR TCB: Does your battery re-charge?
Yes, it does.
Does it take longer to charge it on the ship than at home?
-
When did everyone on this damn website become younger than me??
I'm still older ;)
-
When putting chocolate syrup on my sundae, I had to account for wind drift, so the sauce didn't end up on my hand, instead of the sundae.
Funny. Having almost blown overboard on our last cruise I get it.
-
I'm the tech guy - is anyone looking for me?
;D
-
Act one notes typed and sent. Now I have to go through Act Two. No word from Joshie.
-
Isn't it nice to have DR TCB in the Eastern time zone for a while?

Wonderful. I've even got a recording of a musical, Yours, Anne (based on The Diary of Anne Frank), in which he sings.
-
The rain clouds are threatening again.
-
Five!
-
Horrible story, TCB. The next time you pull that stunt, make sure the steward is dashing. And no fist bumps.
-
Hamilton has won the Pulitzer Prize.
-
Well....it was given the Pulitzer Prize. And in June we'll have the Hamiltony Awards.
-
It is a beautiful day here.....82 degrees....warm sunshine....
I was checking my bank account to make sure I could buy a new suit to attend a wedding on April 30 AND still give a nice wedding present. It was iffy......
I was perusing the aisles of Goodwill and lo and behold, there was a nice 3-button Nick Hilton spring suit.....in my size..... $10.99 less a 10% discount. I don't think it was hardly worn. The jacket pockets are still stitched. The trousers fit....I think I will get a new shirt and tie....and I am set!
Of course the spring style this year is TWO button suits.....but I live in Indiana.

Clever

Iam stuck. I am locked out of AOl, I forgot the password. I can't get AOL to reset it, because I don't have a cell phone here at sea that they can send me a text message to reset it.
-
Does everyone have a cell phone now? What can you do if you don't?
-
All of my addresses are in my contacts
-
And I can't get to my e-mails. After two weeks, I will have to nuke the account and start over.
-
Iam stuck. I am locked out of AOl, I forgot the password. I can't get AOL to reset it, because I don't have a cell phone here at sea that they can send me a text message to reset it.
Do you have it written down anywhere when you get home? If not just try really hard to remember it.
-
Nor do I have an e-mail account here on the ship.
-
There must be a way around this.

Good afternoon. I spent a lovely morning down by the river.

The sailor who fell from Grace fell into my mailbox this morning.

Tom, does it have to actually be YOUR phone number, or can it just be A phone number? You could have it sent to my phone (or someone else's here on HHW) and we could PM you the info.
Just a thought.
-
DR TCB, the difficulties you're having with AOL are the reason I switched to Gmail. You have access to your email anywhere you can get on a website. I had, and Richard still has, difficulties with Road Runner when we were traveling.

I also need to figure out how to stop Facebook notifications when I am reading.
When I first had my tablet, I had the Facebook app, but very shortly, I had to uninstall it. It was just too annoying. I can access it from a browser and it's fine for me.

I didn't realize that he was in that. I have that recording, also. I remember when I first got it that Betty Aberlin was in it. She was, of course, Lady Aberlin in "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood," and it was the first thing that I had ever seen or heard her in that wasn't MRN.

Playbill has an interview with James Lapine about his new movie, the revival of Falsettos and a new screenplay he's written for Sunday in the Park with George, the second half of which will apparently be very different from the stage version.

Six!

Hello, Uncle Ron!
Uncle? Uncle?
I'm a nephew.
So that makes you my nephew?
Well, possibly your nephew six times removed! ;)
-
My old newspaper, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, won a Pulitzer today for a series it did on mental hospitals in Florida.
-
Isn't it nice to have DR TCB in the Eastern time zone for a while?
Yes, it is. And of course, it's much less steady over here on the Left Coast in his absence.
-
Wow! Page 6! BK must be happy!
-
I'm also a fan of The VIPs. Mostly for Margaret Rutherford and Maggie Smith.
-
Yes, so nice to see TCB here early in the day!
-
I just received three CDs that I had purchased on eBay. All three were Moscow cast recordings and performed in Russian! I got Disney's Beauty and the Beast (http://castalbums.org/recordings/-2009-Original-Moscow-Cast/15760/) and The Little Mermaid (http://castalbums.org/recordings/-2012-Original-Moscow-Cast/26590), and The Phantom of the Opera (http://castalbums.org/recordings/-2015-Original-Moscow-Cast/29876)!

I'm listening to The Little Mermaid now.

Thanks DR JANE, when the ensemble is complete, I shall post photographic evidence.

Keith took care of it this morning. He also showed me the secret to editing posts on FB. It works differently on my new tablet.
-
I just finished laughing my way through Season One of MOONE BOY. So funny.
-

I'm just glad he can sign in here after getting locked out of his email.

My tablet has different emotions I can use. I'm just not on it right now.

I read that Doris Roberts passed away yesterday. She was 90 years old.
-
I read that Doris Roberts passed away yesterday. She was 90 years old.
Oh, no. :(
-
Maybe it will come to me in a dream.
It did come to DR TCB in a dream. I received the following email:
I suddenly remembered my AOL address (Thank God!)!! But now I have bigger problems. I have gotten myself locked out of HHW. I didn't realize the caplock was on, so twice I screwed up that, but the third time I must have mistyped, because it says I am locked out!!
-
Bruce, can you get DR TCB back in from your end?
-
I did suggest if he waits a little bit and try again that it will work.
-
I had no idea we had a three strikes and you're out option here.
-
I had no idea we had a three strikes and you're out option here.
I didn't know that, either. Hopefully, TCB can just wait. I remember one site that locked me out for 10 minutes, and one of my credit unions would lock the computer from accessing that site for 24 hours. That's overkill, if you ask me. :P
-
Today we went to Costco and picked up my microphone so I can hear my cell phone ring. It works great and I can hear while talking on the phone. The music sounds good going directly from my phone into my ears.
The problem, is wearing an ugly microphone around my neck or clipped onto me. It also means the person on the other end of the conversation is listening to a speaker phone affect.
-
I went back to my room and signed on from my iPad. Success!
-
There is no stopping me from getting on to HHW!
-
O course, everyone is gone!
-
Hopefully, if I try tomorrow from the Internet Cafe, I can get back online!
-
I went back to my room and signed on from my iPad. Success!
Hoo and Ray!!

The River Parade went off without a hitch. The rain stayed away. Good stuff and it was nice. Fun set of floats. We sat and ate and drank and talked. I'll probably pay for it tomorrow by sneezing all day.

Okay i mis-understood. I thought you meant that you would have to make a new email account, not just get a new password.

I have been at my mom's we were going through pictures to put on a table at the luncheon Friday

Mom was showing me all thesepicturesnt dad had in an album of him from the time he was a small boy through meeting my mom.... I had no idea this existed. I am so sad my dad never showed them to me and told me the stories that went with the pictures

I've been awake and irritated fpor the past hour. Nothing will calm this leg pain except the Tylenol with codeine, so I finally broke down and took a tablet about 15 minutes ago.
I'm also still boiling mad over the LoC situation and the cavalier attitude of the staff over this McGlinn situation. if this were a Sondheim, Bernstein, or Tunick mess, I know one librarian there who'd be seriously concerned. Who gives a damn about three 1917 Kern shows?
-
I've also had a rather frightening situation involving smelling fire that's put me into a state.
-
Was there a fire or did it only smell like one?
-
I've also had a rather frightening situation involving smelling fire that's put me into a state.
:o
-
Well, I finally did it.
-
And what did I finally do?
-
Well, I finally bought a smart phone.
-
I don't really need one, but LG was having a deal to get a free battery and charger case if you bought the LG G5 before the end of the month, and I fell for it.
-
The main reason I liked it is because it has an easily removable battery, so you can have one charged up and as soon as the one in the phone is out of power, you can just switch them.
-
My current (and nearly 10 year old) flip-phone also has a removable battery, which I really like.
-
It looks like it'll end up costing around $40 a month more, but there are other features that are nice...
