Well, you've read the notes, the notes were in retrograde and Uranus, and now it is time for you to post until the retrograde cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EUTAXY!
-
First post after BK!
-
Next post after BK!

T.O.D.
I don't know much about cover albums, other than 101 Strings albums that I used to buy back in the Sixties. But, I suppose:
JEEPERS CREEPERS - produced by some up and coming young talent
-
Topic of the Day:
BK's albums with Terry Trotter
-
Well, good night, George.
-
And yet, the sherlock holmes CD gets all raves on Amazon so maybe I'm being too hard on it.
-
Sax and Violence all raves, too. The Morricone album has not one review.
-
BK - "C'est le Ballet" from LITTLE DANCER is at a minute or so into the video here
http://www.playbill.com/video/highlights-from-ahrens-and-flahertys-little-dancer-at-dcs-kennedy-center-com-334851
-
I'm sure there must be some LITTLE DANCER songs on YouTube, but they're not popping up for me right now.
-
So sorry to hear what you went through with LACC.
-
If the Marni Nixon version of MARY POPPINS counts for the TOD, that's a big favorite of my childhood listening years.
-
More on the TOD: I very much liked the disco version of "I Am What I Am" from LA CAGE AUX FOLLES.
-
So sorry to hear what you went through with LACC.
Ditto.
-
Good morning, all.
-
And an early one it is. But I've got a lot of stuff to get done today.
-
Sorry to hear about the frantic work and the cancellation.
-
Somehow I managed to not know that Andre Previn had written an opera on A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, but a friend handed me the CD of it yesterday and I look forward to listening to it sometime soon.
-
Tuesday....I shall do some shopping and banking today.
-
TOD:
Living Voices Paint Your Wagon
There were several LV albums on RCA Camden that I liked, but this was my favorite.
Of course MR BK's Trotter Cd's and Jeepers Creepers.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Allergies. My right eyeball is itching and working my last nerve.
-
Eric Cietz is coming to visit tomorrow for more episodes of MIRANDA, so I have to vacuum today, I have an errand to run this morning as well.
-
DR JohnG, that production of SOUTH PACIFIC set in a psych ward was at NYU, directed (I think) by An Bogart. R&H did not shut it down.
-
The Mercury retrograde continues until September 22......
-
The Mercury retrograde continues until September 22......
Is that good or bad?
-
I don't think I've ever heard of anything being good when it comes to Mercury.
-
Good morning, all.
-
DR JohnG, that production of SOUTH PACIFIC set in a psych ward was at NYU, directed (I think) by An Bogart. R&H did not shut it down.
Perhaps that was wishful thinking on my part. Ann Bogart's stylized production of Once in a Lifetime, choreographed to within an inch of its llife, was irritating and unfunny.
-
I don't have Sax or the Morricone CDs. Do you have any copies, BK?
-
Two!
-

I think Bogart lives in the pantheon of inept directors. Visionary, my ass!

Tuesday
morning afternoon greetings! Where did the morning go?
-
I'm up, I'm up - only six hours of sleep.

So intent on being different that she doesn't realize how boring she is.

Allergies. My right eyeball is itching and working my last nerve.
My right eye itches far more than my left eye, however, the eyeball just hurts.
-
Eyeball vibes for DR JANE.
DR ELMORE - we are on the tail end....so communication and electronics and contracts should be easier to control.....
-
My errand this morning took forever. Downtown traffic was god-awful.
-
Eyeball vibes for DR JANE.
It has been going on most of my life so I doubt the vibes will work but thanks anyway ;)
-
When we switched back to t-Mobile and I got my iPhone I did not set up a voicemail since most of the time I never know what people are saying when they leave messages.
It seems I was leaving a robotic voicemail box message and I have been ignoring calls ;D
-
I just left a personal recording asking people to text, call the house, or speak slowly.
-
Since, unless we are traveling, I rarely carry my phone I miss most calls and texts yet people tend to call my cell instead of the house because that is the first number most contact lists provide.
-
Listening to an album I produced that I literally have not heard since the day it was mastered. And I have to say it's something of a brilliant album, and I must say it may well be the most unknown of all I did.
-
Jo just told me that they lost that beautiful house. I hope they can find something else as nice.
-
Jo just told me that they lost that beautiful house. I hope they can find something else as nice.
Darn. :-\
-
Back from a very quick bacon, eggs and toast lunch. Quick because my food had just arrived when I was texted the plumber was on his way. No notice, no warning, just he's on his way. So, I ate really quickly and was back fifteen minutes later - he still hasn't arrived.
-
Plumber is here. The rotten pipe is so old they don't even make it anymore - crazy. Plus the guy from yesterday filled the washer with water and now that has to be drained so he can move the machine out. Crazy. The whole damn world is crazy.
-
Page two? Really?
-
The world has gone crazy.
-
Crazy World.
-
The world is a circle.
-
The plumber is doing a lot of heavy sighing. With each sigh I imagine the bill will go up.
-
So, what was the brilliant album?
-
The brilliant album, which I'll talk about in the notes, is Swing.
-
HA! I just bought a used copy of SWING!!!
-
HA! I just bought a used copy of SWING!!!
Cool.
-
The brilliant album, which I'll talk about in the notes, is Swing.
Is it with the Buddy Bregman Big Band?
-
Jo just told me that they lost that beautiful house. I hope they can find something else as nice.
Vibes they do!
-
I think the Swing CD can be had from third-party Amazon sellers for a penny. Varese really dropped the ball on this CD - it was at the height of the Brian Setzer big band craze and Buddy Bregman was huge - and they just sat on it because they were going through their stupid phase wherein they killed many CDs out of absolute incompetence, just prior to my departure, my departure being the stupidest thing of all. Another two years of patience and we would have OWNED the B'way market and would never have had to pay for another cast album again. Instead, all of our imitators got that lovely deal, while Varese promptly went down the drain and into the toilet, where they, IMO, remain today.
-
HA! I just bought a used copy of SWING!!!
;D :)
-
Since my shoulder break drying/styling my hair is painful. I opened up a story on the new Dyson, lighter weight faster drying hairdryer, hoping it would help with my problem. It might, except the darn thing costs $400. I think I will continue to suffer ;D
-
I believe the plumber is almost through - new "improved" plastic pipe that can't rust and decay so that's good. Then as soon as he leaves I'll go pick up packages.
-
That is so insane about Varese.
-
HA! I just bought a used copy of SWING!!!
I just bought a copy for only 4¢ (+ $3.99 shipping)! :D
-
That is so insane about Varese.
And sad.
-
Keith is at the dentist getting 3 crowns replaced. He is, as expected, not happy. At least he slept last night for the first time since we returned home.
-
Back from a two-and-a-half mile jog.
-
I saw that one, too, DR GEORGE.....but I was cheap and got mine for the penny MR BK mentioned plus $3.99 shipping
-
Hydra is prettier and more charming in person than it was in the movie.

Great picture, Jane!
-
Here's my question - since this seems to be your tenth vacation this year, when's the next, tomorrow?
-
Lovely photo DR JANE....and I agree.....it looked kind of run down in the movie.....I kept waiting to see the windmills....or was that someplace else?
-
I haven't been on a vacation in MANY years......maybe next year.....
-
Here's my question - since this seems to be your tenth vacation this year, when's the next, tomorrow?
LOL, maybe since this afternoon I finally feel somewhat normal again. The downside of traveling so far is severe jetlag. If we had slept our first two nights home it wouldn't have been so bad.
-

Thanks. Mykonos had the great windmills. Hydra did have one that was nice.
-
I haven't been on a vacation in MANY years......maybe next year.....
That would be nice.
-
My parent's traveled all over the world to medical conventions and left me home. Then Keith traveled all over the world for his work and left me at home. Now I get to go and I love it. How long this will last I don't know.
-
Next year we are traveling from Rome to Lisbon.
-
Well, it's time for me to leave. Tonight is the first rehearsal read-through for TAO's next show, "An Improbable Peck of Plays Five." I'm an assistant stage manager! :o Pray for Rosemary's baby!
Be back later!
-
Next year we are traveling from Rome to Lisbon.
Lisbon is one of my favorites. The seafood is exceptional.
-
Have fun, George.
-
I've started watching I Saw the Light. I guess it's musical biopic week at the library.
-
I think in the first 40 minutes that you need a cheat sheet to get through all the details crammed into the movie. The performances, though, are good.
-
Hello, 1 guest!
-
What's your favorite musical biopic?
-
Love Me or Leave Me?
-
The Al Jolson Story?
-
Get on Up (about James Brown)
-
Coal Miner's Daughter?
-
Sweet Dreams?
-
Four!
-
Sid and Nancy?
-
What's Love Got to Do With It?
-
Ray?
-
I got it: Lillian Russell.

Lisbon is one of my favorites. The seafood is exceptional.
Keith has always wanted to go there. I am currently reading a book that takes place there during the inquisition

That doesn't sound cheery. Unless it's a musical, a la Mel Brooks. And in that case, it would be tasteless.
-
The script for I Saw the Light is pretty wretched, but I think I'm just getting tired of biopics about entertainers who are too drugged out or drunk to perform or create.
-
A quick hello and good evening...and good night. It's been a busy and crazy day, and tomorrow's a busy one as well.

Enjoy the ride!
-
I found copies of Sax and Violence and Swing.
-
I was thinking this evening that we could stand to hear a peep or two out of vixmom, who has now been in the Sunshine State for two and half days by my count.

Fastening my seat belt...
-
Hello, everyone.
-
More work on taxes today. Ugh! Getting there, though. I'll be very glad when I send everything off to my accountant.
-
Fred, I agree completely. I spend a lot of time doing tallies, looking up anything I'm unsure of, and so on. Even so, I'm sure I overlook things. I can't imagine rushing through it. I do feel tax law is more complex than it should be, but that's how it is. It's not fair to dump it on your tax preparer at the last minute, and not best for the client, either.
-
I traveled much of the world on business trips and am now quite happy not to do so. It's exhausting. It was interesting, to be sure, but IF I'm going to travel, I'd rather do it on my terms.
-
Jane, did you have any trouble finding vegetarian meals? Or did you choose to compromise a bit?
-
Can't believe John G's trip is over. It seems like it was just a week or two.
I'm pleased you were able to do this. I think you'll rest easier, as will your parents.
-

Thank you, Jeanne. I think so, too.

I, too, was interested when I first learned about it last spring. It's only just hit the market, though. In time, the price will drop. Maybe not enough, but it's likely to fall.
-
Allergies. My right eyeball is itching and working my last nerve.
Have you tried lubricating eye drops? My eyes used to feel sandy (before the surgeries). I didn't realize that's one of the symptoms of dry eyes. Why don't people mention these things?? My favorites are Bausch & Lomb Soothe and Thera Tears, but there are lots of others available. There are also drops specifically for allergies.
-
Bruce, really sorry to hear about the raw deal LACC gave you. IIRC, they were rather "disorganized" in the past, as well. A bummer, in any case.

TOD:
I've always liked the soundtrack to THE CHORUS. I like the movie, too. It's French, so BK might like it.
-
Good evening!
-
Hello, Jeanne!
-
Page Five
-
Well, well, well. TCB and I are on at the same time. Hi, Tom. How's everything going?
-
Page five? Whoopee!
-
Continued mega vibes for TCB and his family. That includes DF Sandy.
-
About the same. How is your vision?
-
Another beautiful day here in Tacoma.
-
We almost made it to 80 degrees. Almost!
-
And what are you doing online at 9:30 p.m., Jeanne?
-
My vision is OK. I have problems with floaters that I didn't have before the surgeries. The surgeon didn't seem concerned, but it's a bit annoying. If this had been an elective surgery, I'm not sure I'd be happy, but the cataracts needed attention. It's good to not be so dependent on glasses and I've gotten used to using eye drops 2-5 times each day.
-
And what are you doing online at 9:30 p.m., Jeanne?
I'm not sure. :P
I just missed you the other night, I think.
-
Yes, I think you did.
-
Our weather is cooling. Cooler days, i.e., 70ish, cooler nights, darker mornings. I like it! I see people on the street wearing wool pullovers and heavy scarves. I don't understand that. I'm happy in jeans and a polo shirt.
-
It sounds like your book is coming along well. Do you have a publisher in mind or are you thinking of self-publishing?
-
Even though the sun is shining, there is a crispness in the air. If that makes any sense.
-
Of course, I love Autumn. It is my favorite time of year.
-
Even though the sun is shining, there is a crispness in the air. If that makes any sense.
It certainly does. A lower dew point, probably, and a lower air temp.
-
It sounds like your book is coming along well. Do you have a publisher in mind or are you thinking of self-publishing?
I hadn't really thought about it. I suppose I would have to self-publish.
-
I'm really beat. I need to say good night.
So, good night!
Nice to "see" you, Tom.
-
Even though the sun is shining, there is a crispness in the air. If that makes any sense.
It certainly does. A lower dew point, probably, and a lower air temp.
And really getting chilly at night.
-
BK likes self-publishing. I'm sure he can fill you in.
-
Nice to see you, too, Jeanne. Let's do it more often.
-
Ta ta!
-
That was fun. And a lot better than talking to myself.
-
And for those who read these posts, a lot better.
-
Funny, I hadn't even thought about getting the book published.
-
I was thinking I would have a hard time getting anyone to read it.
-
BK, I am really sorry that you and your cast got screwed over.
-
Do people honestly not understand the work and preparation that goes into something like this?
-
Last night it did get down to 38 degrees in Olympia last night.
-
One more post!
-
SIX!
-
I traveled much of the world on business trips and am now quite happy not to do so. It's exhausting. It was interesting, to be sure, but IF I'm going to travel, I'd rather do it on my terms.
I think Keith agrees with you. He likes cruises to avoid dragging luggage from place to place.
-
Jeanne, LACC had nothing to do with it - it was the people handling the event - all political and LAUSD and downtown. They never gave any reason for the cancellation. Believe me, the chair of the department was kind of really annoyed about it.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-

I agree. With luck it will drop to a reasonable price. I watched a selection of woman who tried it, all but one liked it very much, until they heard the price ;D
-

I like Genteal gel drops for dry eyes and Alaway for itchy eyes.

Floaters can be a side effect of the surgery. Keith has one smack in the middle of his vision.
-
Funny, I hadn't even thought about getting the book published.
Well, you just began writing it.
-

I too thought it was the LACC folks. I am glad it wasn't and that the chair was annoyed.
-
Funny, I hadn't even thought about getting the book published.
Well, you just began writing it.
I realize that. I meant that I never thought of doing anything with it when I was finished.
-
Now, however, it is turning into an enjoyable exercise. We shall see where it goes from here.
-
How are Keith's teeth doing?
-

I got that 😊
-
O
-
How are Keith's teeth doing?
Thanks for asking. It was 3 crowns in a row with one temp over the top. The temporary crown split in half tonight.
-
I have known authors who write for the pleasure of writing without publishing
-
Oh well, it is keeping me out of trouble.
-
O
I don't know where that came from.
-
;D

Oh no!
-
It is time for me to return to Lisbon in 1755.
-
Enjoy your book.
-
Thanks. Have fun writing yours.
-
Time to change to my iPad.
-
Thanks. Have fun writing yours.
Thank you. I am.
-
Hey Georgie! How was rehearsal.

Funny, I hadn't even thought about getting the book published.
Well, you just began writing it.

I got that 😊
Now this is weird! I'm ketchuping on the posts while watching the first episode of Harry Connick Jr's new afternoon talk show that's on my DVR. He just finished his opening monologue, and literally as I read the words "I got that" in Jane's post, Harry said the words "I Got This," when introducing a segment from his show called "I Got This"! Weird!
-
Hey Georgie! How was rehearsal.
Hi, Tom! It went quite well. We read through all eight plays. I found out that one actress had to drop out because she got a paying gig, and another actor turned down the offer. The actress was replaced with a strong runner-up, but they didn't replace the actor. His three roles will be distributed among the other actors.
-
Have fun, George.
Thanks, John! I did!
-
What's your favorite musical biopic?
Gypsy!
-
SE7EN!!

I was toasty warm under my blankets. ;D
