Well, you've read the notes, the notes have not become a SERM, and now it is time for you to post until the award-winning cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: TITIVATE!
-
First post after BK!
-
Today, I have no specific plans, although my friend Margo asked if I wanted to go to a movie. I probably will.
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning to all
-
I recommend Rupert Holmes Widescreen LP and if you can find BK's release somewhere highly recommend that one.
Of course The Mystery of Edwind Drood.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Vibes for TCB.
-
TOD:
Don't Quit While You're Ahead
Moonfall
-
I have not caught up as I have been alternately driving and sleeping
-
We have just had breakfast inour Fayetteville hotel and will be heading southward again on i95in the next few minutes
-
Good morning, all.
-
Health and recovery vibes to TCB and John G. and all who need them.
-
I just looked over Rupert Holmes' credits and found I had never known the amazing scope of his activities.
Including Remember WENN -- I didn't see a lot of episodes but I know I was enchanted with the show, and it has steadfastly refused to appear on home video.
-
BK, do you have any spare copies of Widescreen kicking around?
-
I was having an oddly pleasant weird dream just before waking up, based on common themes but with a couple of new twists. It's sticking in my craw. And my craw has enough things in it right now, thank you very much.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Good to hear from vixmom, however briefly.
Fayetteville, eh? Couldn't quite make it to Lumberton this time?
-
I slept in, although the alarm rang at 7:30. The familial news from Ohio was truly a blow last night. It's a hard blow to find your security blanket has no longer much value and that my dad's foolish good intentions were destroyed by an asshole in the family.
I remember Macbeth in late 2006 pushing my dad not to accept an offer of $600,000 for the land, which was going at high rates around the new hospital. Macbeth and Randy both pushed him to hold for a million dollars, and he pulled out of the sale.
In 2007. after his death, we were offered $675,000 for the property, I wanted to sell, but the 2/3 vote held out. I wonder now how much was the Macbeths' greed and how much was my brother's decision to screw me for being dad's executor and not he, probably a combination of both. Randy, since he had to work with Macbeth daily, let him call the shots.
Sadly, both of them gambled on the value of the property and lost. I will work through this with Randy, but I will never forgive the Macbeths.
-
I have not caught up as I have been alternately driving and sleeping
Howdy, DR vixmom! I've missed you the past few days.
-
Last night's dream was a long nightmare about working for the Drama Book Shop and an attempt to place a book order.
-
DR TCB, to hell with your doctor being off. Go to the ER.
-
I have much to accomplish on Guys & Dolls today and tomorrow, but I really want to break windows and throw myself off a roof.
-
Good morning!
-
Health vibes for TCB. I hope you'll let us know how you are this morning.
-
So sorry about the property, DR elmore.
-
Congrats to our own SERM !
-
So sorry about the property, DR elmore.
Thanks! What I hope is that the recession detritus will start showing signs of movement upward and that it will eventually become worth more. There are acres of land around our property sitting there because nothing was happening economically to purchase and/or develop it. It means I have to stay healthy and working until it does.
Or hope that Trump's oncompetence and stupidity kills us all soon.
-
Vibes for DR JOHN G and DR TCB.
-
That's terrible DR ELMORE......you can't be blamed for being upset.
-
DR Elmore, that sure was some stinky news.
But land is land, and last I heard, they still aren't making any more of it, so I'd agree that now is the time TO sit on it and wait for that area to become of value again to the developers.
-
Congrats to MR BK on his becoming a SERM.....my guess is that he is correct and that he is the only one.
-
Saturday afternoon greetings! I had a haircut this morning and am now home having lunch before
dragging myself venturing out to visit Mom.
-
Vibes for DR JOHN G and DR TCB.
Ditto to both!
-
DR Elmore, AK Steel is about to open their new research facility not far from your property, so I hope that creates some renewed interest in the area.
-
Congratulations to BK - I've never known a SERM before!
-
Travel vibes to DR Vixmom and Vixdad!
-
I've got my very own SERM!
-
Good to hear from vixmom, however briefly.
Fayetteville, eh? Couldn't quite make it to Lumberton this time?
We decided that since the hotel where we usually stay w as right in the center of last September's flooding that see would stop in Fayetteville instead. Quite nice Fairfield inn but we did get less room for more money. But since we rolled in after 10 pm all we cared about was clean comfortable bed
-
I am so sorry to hear the latest land news Elmore
-
Thanks for the vibes
-
Just crossed the Florida border
-
DR Elmore, AK Steel is about to open their new research facility not far from your property, so I hope that creates some renewed interest in the area.
I just sent Randy an email saying we should hold onto it till the prce goe4s to at least $75,000/acre.
-

It is a shame AMC doesn't bring it back.

I agree, at this point it is best to wait it out. Can you get the taxes reduced to reflect the current value?

FINGERS CROSSED!!!!

:) HAVE A WONDERFUL VACATION!!!
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I've now caught up on the posts.
-
Congratulation s to BK on winning a Robby
-
Congrats to BK on his many awards.
-
DR George I'm glad the cough medicine worked. I hope the expired Mucinex is as successful for DR TCB.
Keith has a big problem using any medication that has expired. I don't. I will look up the medication, or ask the pharmacist, how important the expiration date is on that particular drug.
-
Health vibes to George , TECH and John
-
I'm up, I'm up - was up at eight-thirty thanks to the bulldozing of what is the fifth teardown in eight months. We're really in for it for the next three months.
-
Vixmom, I hope your vacation is wonderful. I suspect a visit with the Vixter is part of you itinerary.
-
I fell back asleep at some point for about an hour - so seven or so hours of sleep.
-
We're 90 % done. Only 155 miles to go
-
Health vibes to TCB, George, and John G.
Continued vibes to Kerry on his recovery.
-
DR TCB how are you feeling today?
-
Larry, I'm so sorry about the value of the property. We saw so much of this during the Financial Crisis of 2008. It's heartbreaking.
Vibes that things turn around soon.
-
I was hoping TCB would post this morning and let us all know how he's doing.
-
I woke up coughing during the night. Since sinus seemed to be the culprit I took Sambucol and it cleared it right up. There are times when it's just amazing.
-

We're investigating.

Last night Jane asked whether I liked FLORENCE FOSTER JENKINS. It was OK. Not a fave. I think I would have preferred a more serious treatment of the tragedies of her life.
-
Gotta go. Stuff to do.
TTFN.

I asked because I was just ok with it.

Dancing went well this morning. I can always do better but I was fine with the results.
-
Larry, your story sounds like A Thousand Acres, a mix of Midwest and Shakespeare. I say novelize it.
-
Today, I have no specific plans, although my friend Margo asked if I wanted to go to a movie. I probably will.
Well, it turns out that we're not going a movie, but two movies. We're going to see "Lion" and then "Moonlight." We'll meet for dinner probably around 3:00 so that we can get to the first movie at 4:30.
-

Thanks, Vixmom! Still not quite over it all, yet, but it's been a better morning than I've had in a while. :)
-
Larry, your story sounds like A Thousand Acres, a mix of Midwest and Shakespeare. I say novelize it.
I love that novel! I have never seen the film, but the book is amazing. Yes, I've lived King Lear for many years. Je suis Cordelia.
-
Health vibes to TCB, George, and John G.
Thanks, Jeanne!

Continued vibes to Kerry on his recovery.
~~~Ditto!!~~~
OK, Cordelia. Could be a juicy section of those memoirs.
-
Well, it's time for me to get ready to go to the movies. I have to shower and get dressed, then leave.
Have a good day, all!
Good news from DR JOHN G.
I like that slogan DR VIXMOM....kind of like truth in advertising:
LESS ROOM - MORE MONEY - ENJOY YOUR STAY WITH US!
Good. Did you feel ok?
The reviews on the movie weren't very good. I never read the book, too close to home. Maybe I will read it now.
Had the conversation with Muse Margaret, we made the final fixes, then I entered them into the manuscript and made a new PDF. Then I sent it off to two of the proofers. After that I went to Staples and had them make two hard copies and while they were doing that I had an omelet and an English muffin.
-
Then I picked up the hard copies, picked up a package, and now I'm home.
-
Watching the last episode of The Mary Tyler Moore Show on the Sundance Channel.
-
I was hoping TCB would post this morning and let us all know how he's doing.
Me too.
The book was spellbinding, as good as any modern novel I can remember reading.
Jane Smiley is a member of the Anthony Trollope Facebook group and a fairly active participant.
Vibes for DR JOHN G.
Vibes for DR TCB.....there should be a pharmacy that offers delivery for you.....we even have a few in my town.
The Fixes Are In!
-
Listening to music (new Sibelius set - this one oh so Russian - VERY interesting). But I think I'll go sit on my couch like so much fish and watch a motion picture.
I tend to avoid books about sisters. This might have been something my book group would have picked, except for our attempts to limited books on dysfunctional families. There seem to be too many of those and for awhile it seemed we were reading them all ;D
-
Jane will be thrilled that my new book is not about sisters.
-
Sisters, sisters
There were never such devoted sisters ...
-
Sisters, sisters
There were never such devoted sisters ...
Once we had been, at least I had thought so.
-
I remember Jane's sister and Jane must take SOME delight that I totaled her car :)
-
Page four? Really?
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
With my viewing I'm finished. Had some popcorn whilst viewing. No snacks tonight beyond that.
-
I remember Jane's sister and Jane must take SOME delight that I totaled her car :)
;D
Possibly if she hadn'the blamed me for it, interesting how her mind worked.
-
We just watched Chef John of Food Wishes make chocolate lava cakes in ramekins, OMG they look good.
-
Page four? REALLY?
-
Hope TCB is feeling better this day and evening.
-
Yes. I am watching for him to report in.
-
Listening to another set of Sibelius symphonies, this one by a Russian conductor whose way with the Rachmaninov Symphony 2 is quite good. Here he's a really mixed bag as is the playing by the orchestra. The first symphony is done in a fashion the likes of which no other performance does - he galumphs over it with big Russian boots - it made me laugh a couple of times, which I don't believe was Sibelius' intention. There's also distortion on the track. So far only the bits of each symphony have worked for me - especially in the second where he brings out some woodwind figures that are wonderful and mostly buried in all the other performances I've heard, and the third and fourth have some nice moments. I've just started the fifth and hopefully it will get better, but the winds, which are REALLY important in the beginning of the symphony are so thin and ugly you want to strangle them.
-
Page four? REALLY?
-
This is most unseemly.
-
I guess I'll put the motor car in the garage, then take a hot shower.
-
Oh dear - the oddest fifth I've ever heard - at times like a rousing beer hall - what WAS in this conductor's head, I wonder? Thankfully I find all interpretations at least interesting. But wow, this is like nothing I've ever heard. I fear for the final movement :)
-
I'll need to cleanse my palate with a good version after this.
-
All right - is this gaslight. We simply cannot be on page four anymore.
-
Stop making with the jive and get me to five.
-
Page five? Really?
-
I am currently reading THE DISTANT HOURS by Kate Morton. Has anyone read it?
-
I haven't. I've read my new book, though.
-
Oh dear - the big tune just occurred - I don't know what I'm hearing but it's weird.
-
It must be a very different feeling to read your own book 😊
-
Nothing from DR TCB.
-
I am at the point with the book where I have little memory of actually writing it.
-
Page five? Really? No TCB, no George.
-
Good evening!
-
I am still under the weather
-
Actually far below the weather.
-
I stayed in bed for almost all of the day.
-
My cough is horrible.
-
Once it starts,it is hard to get it to stop.
-
Hopefully, I will turn a corner by tomorrow.
-
I am at the point with the book where I have little memory of actually writing it.
:)
-
Thank you for all of the vibes
-
DR TCB are you staying hydrated?
-
I'm home and have been working on a little project for TAO's next show after the one they're currently rehearsing. It's slow going, but it's working. :)
"Lion" and "Moonlight" were both wonderful films.
Two very different movies, but it was interesting to see them both one after the other.
AGREED!!
-
"Lion (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3741834/reference)" is based on a true story of a little boy from a very small village in India who accidentally gets stuck on a decommissioned train going to Calcutta. He lives on the street, is taken to an orphanage, and then adopted by a couple from Australia. When he's older, he starts to have memories of his childhood and tries to find out where he came from.
-
Then we saw "Moonlight (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4975722/reference)." This is also about a boy growing up, but he has a very different experience.
