Well, you've read the notes, the notes were typed and on a diet, and now it is time for you to post until they typing cows come home.

And the word of the day is: INHERE!
-
First post after BK!
-
First post after TCB!
-
Well, it looks like John McCain is no longer on the White House Christmas card list!
-
Just an observation.

Well, it looks like John McCain is no longer on the White House Christmas card list!
That's a good way to put it.
;)

George, why in the world did THE ADDAMS FAMILY start at 6:00 p.m.tonight?
-
Shirley, the film society didn't have a film scheduled for later this evening.
-
Shirley, the film society didn't have a film scheduled for later this evening.
Yes, they did, and do tonight and tomorrow night.
-
So on Saturday they perform at 3:30 AND 6:00 p.m.?
-
So on Saturday they perform at 3:30 AND 6:00 p.m.?
Yup. I wasn't able to see the show yesterday, so I don't know how long it actually runs. I can only hope that it's not that long of a show. :-\
-
Well, they better not have the same 30 minute intermission that you guys had on Sunday.
-

I know!

Has anyone ever ordered anything from Goldbely? They ship from amazing places, foods of all kinds, including some classic restaurants like Langer's. I was rather shocked by the prices, but I'm just curious if anyone's actually done it?
-
I feel sorry for the cast.

Never heard of it.

I'm having a lunch meeting here next Tuesday so I've ordered something that serves four from a sandwich place - it looks delish. They make it on Monday and ship overnight for free.

At those prices, I would REALLY hope it tastes as good as it sounds! It all looks really good!
-
I would have to order a single sandwich and split it four ways.
-
2 lobster Reuben's, lobster chowder, and a key lime pie for $129.00!

Good night, all.

Good night, Tom.

Good morning.

First on this coast.

Can we get to page 2 before 6:15 AM?

Then we made it. Page 2!

I did something to my knee on Wednesday.. I have no idea how . I was sitting at my desk , stood up and it felt as if someone had ripped my kneecap off, the pain was so excruciating I thought I was going to faint
-
I sat ( more like fell) back in my chair ...( I was wearing a skirt so I could see my knee) everything looked fine but it hurt
-
I sat for a while and then gingerly stood back up and my leg supported my weight again. But I have had a dull ache in that knee ever since with occasional sharp stabbing pains
-
However when I look at what others are dealing with it is a small thing just an annoyance not a catastrophe
-
Also I've been dealing with a couple of crazy clients at work who seemingly believe that national banks can suspend federal lending and underwriting requirements in their cases because they find them inconvenient
-
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight
-
Good morning, all.
-
Vibes for Vixmom. That's how my knee feels lately. I hope you don't have the same thing.
-
I slept well but I'm really tired this morning
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR vixmom, see a foctor to be on the safe side. I hope you are okay.
-
I slept late. Around 5:00am I was attacked by constant pains in my left leg. I'm so dense that I did nothing and maybe an Advil would have helped. I mostly dozed, but I had some weird dreams, one with BK playing Rose and singing the score of Gypsy in some sort of reading; one about frying eggs; and at least one more that is now too vague, but there were sparkly costumes in it.
-
I have two numbers for this NYMF show, and all will be finished. That should be accomplished by late afternoon. Then I will go back to the nightmare from yesterday. That one will take me tomorrow and Sunday to finish.
-
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Continued Mega Super Duper Health Vibes to our DR JRand66! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There's been no word from Troy since the heated exchanges yesterday morning over the lateness of this new key transposition. This could have been decided two weeks ago or I could have been told to hold off on that one for the nonce.
Joshie stopped by yesterday to bring me some blank score paper/ We looked over my orchestration and decided the key change really affected both the sound and the instrument ranges. So, I have to begin from scratch.
-
And to work.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I have to try the Typing Diet!
Hair turned out to be wonderful last night. This friend is an exceptional director of plays and certain kinds of musicals, and this production was not only impressive but totally likable. And ...... no miking! Wait, one more time. NO MIKING. One of our 100-seat (give or take) houses, very deep stage, band behind a scrim behind the actors, and every last person knew how to speak and sing and project. I was floored.
Good morning to all.
T.O.D.
Absolutely no idea.
-
Has anybody been watching the AMERICAN RIPPER series on The History Channel?
They're trying to prove that American serial killer H.H. Holmes and Jack the Ripper were the same person.
It seems to me that, if they were able to prove it, we would have heard about that by now.
But, it's an interesting show.
Dr vixmom would be so proud of me!
Were they naked?
Nope. I asked him how he addressed that decision when planning the production. As open as he would normally be to it in other situations, it wouldn't have been right for the venue and for the people involved when the cast included not only the director's 17-year-old daughter but a few other young people in the community they've known all their lives. They did a thing which referred to this being "the time for the nude scene, but here are a few actual obscene things to look at instead", and worked in some iconic Vietnam War photos. It worked perfectly. They also had gotten a few weird calls when the show was announced, asking whether there would be nudity, the tone of which had led him to believe they could be harbingers of -- not necessarily trouble or disruption -- but of prurient interest on the part of a group of people. This venue is really out there in the country, and while they are normally no holds barred artistically, this was a line not to cross.
Excellent. The prurient interest has always been there. In all the original productions and tours - one of my bosses at the Miami University Library had a niece in the first national tour - the sound of binoculars was quite audible at the end of act one.
-
There is nothing quite as obscene as war.
-
And hooray for the no miking. (Spellcheck tried to change that to no miming. And hooray for that, too. )
Three!
It's supposed to reach 105 tomorrow. What is this, Laura land?
-
No. It's worse. Because in my humble (and brief) experience, Texas is a humid son of a bitch.
-
Even though the actual Deep South is overall probably worse than Texas in that respect. I'll give it that.
-
I think it depends on the section of Texas you're in, but we've been humid lately.
-
In London there's a Bob Dylan jukebox play with music called Girl from the North Country and it sounds wonderful. Two of my favorite Brit actors, Shirley Henderson and Ciaran Hinds, neither of whom I knew could sing, are in it along with Jim Norton from the Finian's Rainbow Elmore worked on. I wanna go to London to see it.
Of course, I did my parody lyric based on the reviews to tune of "Blowin' In the Wind" in the comments under the NY Times review.
I've only been in the Dallas region and have experienced a few high-90s days there which were definitely a bit of a challenge but not the worst thing I've ever known I've always imagined Houston to be pretty bad. I also imagine the western regions (Marfa) to be more desert-like, and Lubbock-Amarillo somewhere in between? I have, of course, no idea what I'm talking about.
-
Hey guys - once again, my errant and truant-ness abounds, but something always brings me back here.
I'll need some excellent vibes and xylophones..... and maybe a marimba as well....
My oldest and best friend, Judy, has been been dealing with Achalasia (http://www.healthline.com/health/achalasia) and recently had surgery. The surgery was long overdue and was a bit complicated, but she made it through and was on her way to recovery. However, between the malnutrition (from not being able to keep food/liquids down for months) and the anesthesia from the surgery, her memory has not been great = but it's getting better, I'm told. Anyhow - last night, she ended up in the ER with a high fever which has turned out to be pneumonia.
Judy is 75, we've known each other for almost 30 years, she's been my right hand man at church (2 parishes now) for almost that long, we've travelled, hiked, spent endless evenings just talking, etc... truly a best friend. I was very positive that she would pull through the Achalasia issue, but now with the pneumonia, I've went into worry mode.
Everything else is fine. DD's are fine, etc. Love you all.
-
This is IT!
Last day in my office.
All of that Goldbel[l]y food looks good....but that's for rich folks.
Right now I'm hungry, and could be made very happy with some poor people's food.
-
Huge vibes for your friend Judy, DR Matthew!
-
More congratulations to DR Ron P... on your planning and timing and everything.
-
Congrats to Ron P!!!
I am almost finished with my NYMF work, about two hours at most to go, so I sent the composer a request for the song transposed to the new key. It's in my hands now, so everything's covered. Much as I'd like a day off before the hell of a long day on Monday (9:00am-Lord knows when), we must do what we can.
-
I am starving. I have no idea why. I had a nice breakfast.
-
CONGRATULATIONS, RON!
-
DR TCB! How are you feeling?
Today's political comment is brought to you by The New Yorker:
Also I've been dealing with a couple of crazy clients at work who seemingly believe that national banks can suspend federal lending and underwriting requirements in their cases because they find them inconvenient
That has to be better than the national catastrophe of a president who believes the Attorney General is supposed to serve him alone. And then there's the matter of federal judges whom the president feels should not have any power to overturn his brain farts.
That darned Constitution keeps getting in his way and on his nerves.
-
But, I don't mean to start a political rant.
-
TOD:
Nothing. All my CDs and Blu-ray Discs and DVDs are packed up and in storage pending my move.
I have only my TV to entertain me.
-
My boss wants to take me to lunch. I reminded him we had lunch yesterday, but he wants "face time". I know he's upset I'm leaving him to deal with the office. He'll be retiring within a year, I'm sure.
-
My co-workers just presented me with this (that's me on the right...Schwarzenegger on the left):
-
Friday afternoon greetings! It's another quiet puttering day for me. This evening Richard and I are going to the local Greek church for dinner at their 50th annual festival.
-
Happy Retirement Day to DR Ron!!!
-
Prayers and vibes for DR Matthew's friend Judy!
-
DR ELMORE now I'm hungry, too.
That's a pretty darn funny NY cartoon!
-
DR RLP is giving face time.....
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep because I didn't actually fall asleep until four - just one of those things.
-
Excellent vibes and xylophones for Judy.
-
Well, I seemed to have missed the morning.
-
I am now rehearsing for my next role - Rose.
-
I would never have done the Goldbely thing, but the sandwich for four looked so good, it was on sale, and the four of us would have ended up at Jerry's, where it actually would cost more with tax and tip.
-
Part of the expense and high prices is, of course, the overnight shipping.
-
But I can certainly drive to Langer's and get the pastrami for four but I'm not sure it would actually be cheaper to do so. The allure, if there is any, is that some of these jernts are really famous and interesting.
-
Congratulations and Happy Retirement Vibes for Ron!
Galveston and Houston are the worst. East is swamp, west is desert. You're fairly accurate.
-
Vibes for Judy.
-
I shall be interested to hear the verdict on Goldbely.
-
It is only 3:36 p.m., and I am already contemplating what will be for dinner.....contemplating seriously.....
I just finished the NYMF show. And on to the problematic number.
I shall be interested to hear the verdict on Goldbely.
Isn't Goldbelly one of the characters in Anna Russells' "Write your own Gilbert & Sullivan opera"?
Given the Orange Baboon's support of anti-LGBT measures, this is too good. That GOP closet must be larger than the waiting room of Grand Central Station!
Thanks for the vibes for Judy. I got a text from her daughter saying that now they think she has a urinary tract infection on top of the pneumonia.
Congrats to DR RLP - we'll miss you on the west coast!
And now this! So much for the political party of moral and family values.
Have you all been following this Mandy Patinkin thing? It's hilariously not hilarious. What a world. The producers of The Great Comet, being who they are, decided to bring in Mandy Patinkin to boost the box-office for three weeks. Crass, if you ask me. Well, the actor currently playing the role probably wasn't too happy about it, if you read between the lines of what he posted, and he said he would not be returning to the show after Mr. Patinkin leaves. But since that actor is what the politically correct idiots call a POC (person of color), naturally other POC actors cited their outrage all over everywhere. Meantime, Mr. Patinkin had no idea they'd asked the other actor to leave for Mr. Patinkin's three weeks or that that might be upsetting to the actor, and for THAT reason he dropped out today. Everyone is, of course, continuing their moral outrage about the racial aspect of replacing a POC with a POAC (person of another color, white, you know, being a color and all), only these people are such morons that they don't understand that a POAC (read WHITE) created the role on Broadway - Josh Groban. In fact, the producers should their diversity by replacing him with a POC when they did not have to. In fact, the role has never been played by a POC until the actor who's doing it now was cast. So, I label all these idiots POS, if you get my meaning. And when did "optics" become the word of this year?
Everyone is, of course, continuing their moral outrage about the racial aspect of replacing a POC with a POAC (person of another color, white, you know, being a color and all), only these people are such morons that they don't understand that a POAC (read WHITE) created the role on Broadway - Josh Groban. In fact, the producers should their diversity by replacing him with a POC when they did not have to. In fact, the role has never been played by a POC until the actor who's doing it now was cast. So, I label all these idiots POS, if you get my meaning. And when did "optics" become the word of this year?
The show is a great show. The mistake was to cast Josh Groban (big name) in the show to begin with. The show is fine without a star. So, they are shooting themselves in the foot when it comes to casting "Pierre" after Josh Groban left as it's been deemed a "Star" role (which it really isn't) and have opened themselves up for trouble when they try and put someone in who isn't of "Star quality" If they didn't cast Josh Groban, they wouldn't have this issue.
I detest this new shill for the Orange Baboon, but this video is very funny. I guess it's good we can still laugh at this attempted Reign of Terror/
That's funny!
The Mooch's wife has also filed for divorce.
I posted that from Page Six above.
Sorry. I thought that was the Twitter story about the gay porn star.
Have you all been following this Mandy Patinkin thing? It's hilariously not hilarious. What a world. The producers of The Great Comet, being who they are, decided to bring in Mandy Patinkin to boost the box-office for three weeks. Crass, if you ask me. Well, the actor currently playing the role probably wasn't too happy about it, if you read between the lines of what he posted, and he said he would not be returning to the show after Mr. Patinkin leaves. But since that actor is what the politically correct idiots call a POC (person of color), naturally other POC actors cited their outrage all over everywhere. It is all a PR nightmare. Person of color or not, Pierre is less than a third of Patinkin's age.
And how old is Dolly supposed to be when Carol last played the role, or Bette now?
Be back later!
Hello, everyone.
-
Knee vibes to Vixmom. I, too, think you should see a doctor.
I also hope the pain is gone and you're now back to normal.
-
Mega vibes to DR Matthew's BF Judy.
-
Mega vibes to Jrand!
May The Adventure continue smoothly.
-
Congrats to DR Ron! Another chapter behind you.
-
Busy day. I used my sleep mask last night and slept until 7:30 this morning. I needed the sleep, but it gave me a late start on the day.
-
I started season 3 of DR BLAKE MYSTERIES. I've now watched the episode with Craig Hall of A PLACE TO CALL HOME. The chief super is a real bast**d in this show. I liked him much more in APTCH!
-
Speaking of A PLACE TO CALL HOME, filming started for season 5 last February. It skips ahead four years to 1958. I didn't see a release date anywhere.
-
TTFN.
-
Guess I'll attempt a jog now - ate some turkey chili Freshly thing earlier - pretty good. Not sure what's for tonight, but probably the penne bolognese at some point.
-
Right now I'm hungry, and could be made very happy with some poor people's food.
I'm eating poor people's food right now, boxed angel hair pasta and (avert your eyes John G) meat sauce from a jar
-
Mega health vibes and prayers for DR Matthews dear friend Judy
-
Continued vibes for mr Rand
-
Congratulations on continuous vacation Ron!
-
I didn't know you were onQvC. Would you care to share the story?
-
We need to call all our reps and tell them to 86 this dumbass Mexican wall. the money should be put to better use than this idiot concept of the Orange Baboon's.
-
Thank you all for the vibes. My knee is feeling much better tonight, just a slight bruised feeling
-
Chas that Hair production sounds wonderful. I've never seen it but any production with no mikes and actors that project... Sounds like marvelous
-
Leg vibes for Elmore
-
Despite the buyers best attempts to sabatoge his closing while blaming everyone else for delaying things we actually closed hisloan only 3 hours late. Any other bank and bank attorney would have invited him to take a long walk off a short pier .
Instead of being grateful he roundly criticized us all and congratulated himself for perserving and "forcing you to do your jobs"
-
I hope his waste pipe breaks inside his basement and he doesn't notice fir a couple of weeks
-
Hmmm I seem to be channeling Elmore
-
Back from a two-and-a-half mile jog - easier than yesterday, but not by a lot.
I do, too, and I hope he drowns from it.
-
DR VIXMOM have you ever thought of dead goldfish in the curtain rods?
-
Not that I know anything about that or anything.......
-
I liked that dance routine DR ELMORE.....I may have to steal that!
Car cd. A little night music OBC
Finished with my viewing. Made the penne bolognese, cooked to their instructions. It wasn't right, so I cooked it for an additional time - there was something off about it so I trashed it and am making the chicken risotto. That means I'll only have one thing for tomorrow, but I'm fine with that.
-
Good night, all.
-
I have one word for all of you: Optics.
Hey guys - once again, my errant and truant-ness abounds, but something always brings me back here.
I'll need some excellent vibes and xylophones..... and maybe a marimba as well....
My oldest and best friend, Judy, has been been dealing with Achalasia (http://www.healthline.com/health/achalasia) and recently had surgery. The surgery was long overdue and was a bit complicated, but she made it through and was on her way to recovery. However, between the malnutrition (from not being able to keep food/liquids down for months) and the anesthesia from the surgery, her memory has not been great = but it's getting better, I'm told. Anyhow - last night, she ended up in the ER with a high fever which has turned out to be pneumonia.
Judy is 75, we've known each other for almost 30 years, she's been my right hand man at church (2 parishes now) for almost that long, we've travelled, hiked, spent endless evenings just talking, etc... truly a best friend. I was very positive that she would pull through the Achalasia issue, but now with the pneumonia, I've went into worry mode.
Everything else is fine. DD's are fine, etc. Love you all.
It is always nice to have you back. Wishing Judy a full recovery!
-
Knee vibes for DR VIXMOM & DR John!
Leg vibes for DR ELMORE.
