Also I've been dealing with a couple of crazy clients at work who seemingly believe that national banks can suspend federal lending and underwriting requirements in their cases because they find them inconvenient

That has to be better than the national catastrophe of a president who believes the Attorney General is supposed to serve him alone.  And then there's the matter of federal judges whom the president feels should not have any power to overturn his brain farts.

That darned Constitution keeps getting in his way and on his nerves.

TOD:

Nothing.  All my CDs and Blu-ray Discs and DVDs are packed up and in storage pending my move.

I have only my TV to entertain me.

My boss wants to take me to lunch.   I reminded him we had lunch yesterday, but he wants "face time".  I know he's upset I'm leaving him to deal with the office.  He'll be retiring within a year, I'm sure.

Friday afternoon greetings!  It's another quiet puttering day for me.  This evening Richard and I are going to the local Greek church for dinner at their 50th annual festival.

I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep because I didn't actually fall asleep until four - just one of those things.

I would never have done the Goldbely thing, but the sandwich for four looked so good, it was on sale, and the four of us would have ended up at Jerry's, where it actually would cost more with tax and tip.

Part of the expense and high prices is, of course, the overnight shipping.

But I can certainly drive to Langer's and get the pastrami for four but I'm not sure it would actually be cheaper to do so.  The allure, if there is any, is that some of these jernts are really famous and interesting.

I think it depends on the section of Texas you're in, but we've been humid lately.

I've only been in the Dallas region and have experienced a few high-90s days there which were definitely a bit of a challenge but not the worst thing I've ever known  I've always imagined Houston to be pretty bad.  I also imagine the western regions (Marfa) to be more desert-like, and Lubbock-Amarillo somewhere in between?  I have, of course, no idea what I'm talking about.

Galveston and Houston are the worst. East is swamp, west is desert. You're fairly accurate.
