Well, you've read the notes, the notes were powerful and potent and even a little bit Previn, and now it is time for you to post until the powerful and potent cows come home.
-
And the word of the day: KALEIDOSCOPIC!
-
First post after BK!
-
Six short months ago my Amazon reviewer ranking was around 150,000. Today I became a Top 500 reviewer - it took a while to get there from the Top 1000 position, but got there I did.
-
We ended last night's run of A Christmas Story at about 9:35. The kids were let go, and the adults stayed until about 11:00, working a few of the songs. That helped.

Tonight, we aren't able to be at the theater, so we'll be back at the rehearsal space. Wednesday is our final dress, then we open on Thursday!
-
And now, I'm off to bed, but before I go...Congrats to Vixmom on her new job, and it's great that you love it! :D
-
Have a good day, all!

In the comedy department, I went to create the document for the new book. When I do that, I just go to the previous book, in this case GEE and I do a save as. I typed the name of the new book in and tried to save but it said there was already a document with that name. Say what? How could that be when I just decided that this would be the book I was going to write? So I found the document and I guess I'd first contemplated writing this very book two years ago, but instead wrote Thrill Ride. So, I thought that was a pretty good omen. I'd already written two paragraphs. I didn't care for them but the idea was just right so I did a quick rewrite of those two paragraphs. Isn't that funny? It's like what happened with GEE. I opened an older book idea document and there was the very rough idea of what would become the central plot point in GEE. It's wacky and weird.
So, I just created the document for the non-fiction book instead.

Bought something on amazon.de (rolling pins to make springerle cookies with) and am having it shipped here. The site says it will take two days, but there’s a strike going on. Wonder how long it will take?

Getting an all clear on my cancer check up - and getting my port removed....
My return to the stage in a play and two musicals....and directing a fine cast in a Neil Simon comedy.....

Tuesday morning greetings! Yesterday Rebecca and I had a nice lunch at Cheesecake Factory to celebrate her birthday, which is Friday. She'll be on her way then to Georgia for their grandson's first Christmas, so we celebrated early. When I got home I supervised Richard and Rob setting up our Christmas tree and then Richard and I did our second-to-last grocery shopping before the big day. I crashed last night and am enjoying a slow morning.
-
Early this afternoon we'll leave to do some errands, make my 3rd visit to the eye doctor in a week and a half, and proceed to Anderson Township for dinner with Richard's brother and his wife. Starting tomorrow I have 4 days in a row at home, which I desperately need.

That stage manager is not a nice person. TCB will you send a message to the woman of good wishes?

TOD - road trips! My sister and I had a nice trip to northern Michigan in May. Richard and I had 2 weeks in SE Wisconsin, Central Illinois, and Western Kentucky in May/June and our trip south to catch the Natchez Trace Parkway in October.
Also, our week in NYC in July, which included the DESPERATE MEASURES afternoon that's on so many lists. What fun!

Our safari in Botswana. I had tears of joy many times as we watched the animal up close. Granted at times I was a wee bit nervous since they easily could have jumped into our 4x4. It was a lifetime experience come true.

I've been home from City Center for nearly an hour. I had little lie-down with Annabelle and Thatch, gave them a mid-afternoon snack, and I;m pondering the remains of the day.

I am so tired of this darn hoax coming through messenger. This time when I told the sender it is a hoax she asked a good number of question that took a bit of explaining. It was kind of nice she wanted to understand how it is a hoax, sort of explains why people keep believing it. I thin sent her this.

I think the universe is telling MR BK it's time to write THAT book.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Great photo of John G last night.
I see some facial hair, presumably an attempt to stay warm. Looks like you're succeeding and having a good time.

Good news on the Vixmom front. I suspect that once she gets settled in she'll feel like she's almost retired. Such short hours!

TOD:
It's been a difficult year, but there were a few good things.
I'm very glad I was able to see A Carol Christmas. I'm playing the CD a lot, but the songs go through my head whether the CD is on or not.
The midterm elections. (Thanks for reminding me, Larry.)
Mostly I'm just glad things weren't worse.

I don't often say that I'm glad to see a year end, but I'll be very glad to see 2018 end. On to better things!

DR Jeanne a friend needs to make a decision regarding vision correction during cataract surgery. Talking about it got me thinking.....
How is your vision now?
-
Here's the first Laverne and Shirley episode I did - go to 10:20 - watch their timing - they were one of the greatest comedy teams in history. The set-up is that someone left their phone number on a bathroom wall, saying "for a good time call..."

DR George, thanks for the video about the device to deter package thieves (next time). It was really fun.
But why does the inventor talk so fast?! I thought it was only 20-somethings that did that. Anyone know why some people talk 100 mph?
-
DR Jeanne a friend needs to make a decision regarding vision correction during cataract surgery. Talking about it got me thinking.....
How is your vision now?
Jane, I am having LOTS of problems with my vision and I am not at all happy with the response I'm getting from the conventional (HMO) ophthalmologist. I am thus trying some alternative methods, which I'll share when I know more.
That said, if your friend is wondering if she should get a Toric lens implant, I'd say yes. BUT, there is the possibility of a secondary cataract--that's what I have--but I believe that can happen even without the Toric lens. My gripe is that they should tell you that this is a possibility, how to recognize it, and what to do. My medical team did none of that.
If your friend is considering near-vision correction, I'd say yes if you're on the computer or reading much of the day. But again, your vision changes after a few years. I could read the computer or a book very comfortably without glasses three years ago (following the surgery). I can't now; I have to get closer to the computer screen. As soon as it's 2019 I'll book with my optometrist and do a new exam. I have a prescription I could use now for the computer glasses, but I'd like to do a recheck first.
I probably would have made the same decision had I known what would happen, but I feel there is far too much marketing and not enough reality, ie, cautions, thus keeping the patient in the dark.
Good luck to your friend.

We will be using our entry back into the country next month. I hope there isn't a problem that they could only get the fingerprints for my left hand. I tried about 10 times to do the right hand but that darn cast kept getting in the way.

She hasn't gotten as far as considering near-vision correction, just possibly not correcting her vision at all as she does close up needle work or deal with always needing reading glasses on and off.
Keith has a secondary cataract. I recall it was a quick and easy fix. I just asked him and he said it was easier than going to the dentist.
Good luck and good eye vibes to you!

Port Orchard, WA was hit by a tornado today. DR TCB is that about 40 minutes from you?
-
I gotta go! I'm off to rehearsal!
Be back later!
-
5 ! ! ! ! !
-
That was nice of you to do a page 5 before leaving. Have fun at rehearsal.

I have skimmed but not caught up. Much hope in vixmom's new job, John's travels.
George, did you get the copy of the new book?
-
DR Kevin are you home? If so what are the weather conditions there? We sent DS Craig a gift that was shipped through Fed-x. It was supposed to arrive yesterday. Then today it said it was out for delivery. Now it says:
"Local delivery restriction - Delivery not attempted
Recommended action: No action required. Delivery will be re-scheduled when conditions improve."
I am guessing it has to do with a problem at his apartment complex vs the weather-just checking to be sure.
Thanks.

1. Spending time with HHW friends who shlepped to Redmond for the day to see our show. Thanks to George and TCB, and Jane and Keith (who also found the hotel) for shlepping so far and even going out of your way that Friday morning to the airport. The folks at the theater were so nice, and the HHW group made it so special.
1a. That my cousin's family were able to go to the shows as they happened to be in Seattle then.
-
2. July and November trips in Florida. My mother's 90th birthday in July. Getting to actually spend real time in the "Casita" senior center I'd heard about, but used to wait outside for my mom, but on the November trip for their 66th anniversary, it was less crowded than other times, so the management there was OK with my sitting in there, so I saw firsthand why my mom enjoys it every day. (She's always loved Bingo and dominoes and cards, and has so many friends there.)
Dad doesn't play cards that much any more, but he enjoys that Mom has recovered so well from breaking her pelvis a few years ago.
-
3. My cousin's wedding in Scranton. His first wife passed away so young at 30, but her family kept him as part of their family, and they all came to his remarriage.
3a. Also, a month later, the 1st birthday of another cousin's daughter.
-
4. Trip to Boston in August. (though I'll never take the bus again if there's time element involved).
(may be some others for TOD, but not popping to mind)
-
Trying to catch up by skimming, but feels like a lot's been going on with lots of detail!
-
Picked up packages, made two chicken breasts sautéed with mushrooms and onions, which I served over bow tie pasta, about four ounces all told - very good.
-
Otherwise, relaxing and listening to Previn make musical magic. Now playing: a CD I almost skipped, but I decided to listen to each of the 55 CDs, even the music I don't think will interest me. So, this one is a Mozart puff pastry opera called The Impresario - BUT - it's been adapted by Dory Previn and her text is actually laugh out loud funny, the music works delightfully for the adaptation (Dory Previn also wrote the words for the music), and the cast is brilliant, including Leo McKern and Reri Grist, who I've always loved. A complete delight. Who knew?
-
Hello out there.
-
Ate some crackers and then some chocolate licorice.
-
Listening to Previn do Rimsky-Korsakov - appealing.

Vixmom, I know it isn’t quite Wednesday on the west coast, but I want to
Ask Vixmom:
How many coworkers do you have at your new job?
Have you found any workers that you think could become friends?
-
Spent another day at home, mostly in bed.
-
FJL, having you come to town to see THE LAST STARFIGHTER at Second Story was certainly a highlight to me. Plus, anytime I get spend time with George and Keith & Jane is always a highlight for me.
-
I didn’t have many other highlights this year that I can remember.

I am definitely running out of time to shop for Xmas.

Thank you, Kevin, for the lovely card. Also, in case I forgot to mention it, thank you Vixmom for the lovely card.

That was nice of you to do a page 5 before leaving. Have fun at rehearsal.
Thanks, Jane! And I did!
-
We were at the rehearsal space. We ran the show and worked a few things.
-
I am going to the old actors lunch tomorrow. I will get to find out how much one of the old actors hated my play.
-
The other one who came to the show is conveniently out of town this week.
-
I have skimmed but not caught up. Much hope in vixmom's new job, John's travels.
George, did you get the copy of the new book?
It arrived today! Thanks so much, Fred!

Then he gets the next two Wednesdays off for the holidays, so I guess I will never hear his rant.

It went well, for the most part. One actor wasn't there and it sounded like he might not be back for tomorrow's final dress (for medical reasons, but they didn't say what was wrong). :-\ They asked if I could learn his two lines in one song, just in case.

How was rehearsal?
It went well, for the most part. One actor wasn't there and it sounded like he might not be back for tomorrow's final dress (for medical reasons, but they didn't say what was wrong). :-\ They asked if I could learn his two lines in one song, just in case.
I hope he Wil, be ok.
Thanks, Jane! We all do!

Thanks, I’ll accept that.
Tom, I think you should feel good that in spite of the challengers of this show you did quality work to be proud of.

Shortly after I got home tonight, there was a very bright lightning strike and then a loud thunder clap! It wasn't raining when I left rehearsal, but it's been raining since that lightning!
It is always good when you beat the bad weather home.
