Hope it doesn’t affect the work day. I have too much to do.
Around 5:00 Stella began driving me crazy.

But first, taking Mom to the doctor.
Why is it that deaf people refuse to get help? Every other person entering this busy doctor’s office is being screamed at, and it doesn’t help.

For the last 40 years we've celebrated New Year's Eve with a soup-tasting party at the church. Soup and games until the wee hours (9 p.m.).
This year I'm making soup to enjoy at home. I'll drop off some vegetable barley soup for my daughter, and I'm having mushroom with wild rice.
DR George, nice keychains from DR John :)

My neighbors Ann and Jen are on Martha's Vineyard for the week, so they are sending me a New Year's Eve dinner. They return to New York on the 17th, so I need to do soemthing special for them when they return.
It’s been a real struggle this week.

May next week be easier. I can't recall, when do you return home?

Plans are for some time after Jan. 6. I did manage to get a lot of work done, but the effort to get myself to do it was almost as much as the work itself.
There are just days like that, and I had several this week. People not being there both helped and hurt. Next week will be like being shot out of a cannon.

No, autocorrect, I did NOT intend to type "batch slap."
Although that might be more efficient.

The good news is that my CoVid test is negative.
The good news is that my CoVid test is negative.
The bad news is today's test showed that I have restrictive lung disease which is compatible with some interstitial lung disease. More specialists, more medical bills. Good luck, 2021!
I like it, DR elmore3003.

I was given some as a gift, and it is wonderful!
For 2021, I hope that our country returns to sanity - and over 70 million people will realize they have been lied to and stolen from by a man who should NEVER hold another position of power in politics OR business.
That theatre can return - I try to be optimistic about our summer season, but I'm just not sure right now.
And I wish good health to all and an end to the pandemic.
And some surprises.....GOOD ONES please.
DR George, nice keychains from DR John :)
But alas, no cherpumple this year. :-(

The photo didn’t post for me last night. It’s there now. I’m glad they made it to you, George, intact.

I am home from my test and a small bit of grocery shopping. Mostly looking for Sheba Cat Food, but Safeway's Sheba shelf was stripped clean. Not a single can. For the second time in a row. Safeway had their holiday moron crew working today, so I didn't even bother to ask if they were discontinuing the brand. I'll ask next week.
Thought about In-N-Out - car line was over a block long at TWO-FIFTEEN. Inside, where there's usually no one, a line to the door at TWO-FIFTEEN. Went to Gelson's - no parking places, people coming out with three CARTS full of food - I thought the idea was no parties, no get-togethers, stay at home - so what were these morons doing with three CARTS of jam-packed foods? Needless to say, I came home and ordered from the California Chicken Cafe. Should be here any moment.

DR JEANNE the full moon this week affected a lot of things including communication and reason.

I expect my New Year wishes are basically the same as everyone else's. DR Jeanne as you said, for all the people to realize they have been duped, and that people stop sabotaging our efforts to control this virus.
I want the pace picked up on the vaccinations so those who want to be vaccinated can do so.

To me, the 70 million people realizing they've been duped and starting to see sense is very important. I trust Joe Biden to start to turn the country around, but the 70 million need to find their way and for many of them it may be very painful. No one likes to be duped.
Quesadillas, beans and rice, guacamole and chips. Delicious!

Yes, the vaccination roll-out needs to be better organized. But what can you expect from a White House that was disorderly to begin with and has now lost and is in the process of dismantling? I truly hope we learn from this pandemic and start taking public health more seriously.
In true end of 2020 style, I just went off on someone who did not know when to shut the old voice box. I mean, I don't understand people at ALL. We're coming off what is the worst year in a lot of people's lives, including, in certain ways, mine, and yet people can't back off and just give others a bit of rest, a bit of respite. I couldn't believe it and I tried to bite my tongue but in the end I unleashed - not the worst I could have done - but just a little loud reality injection I felt was necessary.
No, it was in person.
In less than three hours, the entire east coast will have moved into the future.
What's going on in Times Square, for heaven's sake?
After all, we're all socially distancing here, are we not?
Isn't there also something about eating something green, for prosperity in the new year?
I suspect a lot of people could use a little upbeat about now.
Odd question, but does anyone have a microwave popcorn popper that they recommend?
We need us some damn revelers.
And some noisemakers.
DARN it! I forgot my pantaloons!
I have a question for all DRs:
(I got behind on the Notes and posts this week, so BK may have already asked this)
What did you start doing this year as a result of Covid that you wish to keep doing even post-Covid?

I started a “memory planner,” a mashup of a weekly calendar/diary/scrapbook and had no idea how essential would become in trying to distinguish one day from the next. It’s also helped me use up a lot of the paper crafting materials I’ve accumulated over the past 8 years.
My 2021 book is all set up and ready to go!
Although the cats sent me a PM saying they really wanted to be here.
DR Jeanne, my 2021 book has 12 monthly spreads and blank sheets of dot-grid paper to create weekly spreads as the year unfolds.

It sounds interesting and more flexible than a traditional calendar.
I use my hard-copy weekly appointment book for documenting lots of things, not just reminding me of coming events. A calendar that's also a scrapbook! I may have to think about that.
I started a new book, Megan Rapinoe's autobiography, One Life. I like her. I think I'll like the book.
And on that note (G#), I'm off to my mom's to play cards. I'll be back well before midnight.
Until later!
I am sorry that I am late for the party.

I have noisemakers, too. They're also known as my neighbors.
Here's to 2021 being better than 2020! Lowest bar ever!
I found and used a personal grocery shopper. I didn't know there was such a thing. I'd used personal shoppers at department stores, but that's not quite the same. I found it to be very convenient and plan to continue using him.
Someone's setting off fireworks in the distance.
Spectrum has raised their prices by five bucks - must call and discuss that with them because there was no warning of it.
Isn't there also something about eating something green, for prosperity in the new year?
It's a very strange Times Square scene on ABC-TV.
After playing cards at my mom's (the three of us each won a game!), I did a little shopping at Fred Meyer, came home and ate dinner (don't judge me...I made myself a new creation: a home-assembled egg salad burrito ;) ) and now I'm here and need to ketchup on all the posts! ;D
HAPPY EAST COAST NEW YEAR!!!
In less than three hours, the entire east coast will have moved into the future.
Please let us know how it is, while the Left Coast still has time to turn around and go back.
I'm posting from the future!
The music. The colors. It's......incredible.
The exteriors of the latter were filmed in San Antonio, and it's always fun watching that.
I draw the line at the Covid conga line.

Yes, I ate a Leprechaun.
There weren't a lot of fireworks tonight. It's been raining and it's overcast completely as we wait for another day of rain. So, I think the damp dampened fiery expectations.

Too bad it isn't raining everywhere else.

For many people the fireworks are a very big deal, after almost a year of having lost so many of the things they enjoy. I don't object to professional fireworks as long as there are no crowds, just streaming. Amateurs are another story.
Sorry to poop out, but it's time to me to go.
Strongest vibes for GOOD THINGS coming to us all in the coming year!
Good night.

I was laughing hard at Jeanne giving points for experimenting, because I thought that was her response to Tom for eating the Leprechaun.
Wow I am all caught up.

Now, that's funny!! :))
Guess I'll open the champagne now so it's all ready to go.
Good Evening! This evening, a few friends and I did a drive through of Christmas in the Park in San Jose. It's usually a big ta-do in downtown, but they moved it to a city park where they could do a drive through. It was a lot of fun. I haven't really talked to these friends in person since this whole thing started - just texts, quick drive-by's etc... so it was nice to share some time with them
Then I went to Taco Bell... which was fine. Opened the champagne and watched some TV. Then headed out into the chilly evening to sit by the lagoon and have a cigar and contemplate what the HELL happened this year.
I took the boys out for their evening walk. Now, I poured a glass of champagne and I may have some really good chocolate cake and watch whatever is happening on the TV. There have been a few fireworks go off. In the neighborhood I used to live in - 1.8 miles away from my new neighborhood, fireworks would be going off all evening. I'm sure they are now.
Pretty good Czech, huh?

No, it's still a mystery. I was actually thinking what happened in late June/July/August when it should have been summer vacation. I'm like... what did I do to fill those days??? So crazy.

What year were your lungs born?
Looking over the medical report from today’s test. I don’t understand much of it.
Ha! I have 84 year old lungs.
What are your lungs doing on a card? Shouldn't they be in your body?
My mom always made these on New a years Eve and I’ve been making them every New Year’s Eve

I recorded those and That's Dancing from TCM several years ago. I'm planning on (eventually) putting them on disc for myself...eventually.
Fireworks and emergency vehicle sirens are going off! :o
I hate the taste of champagne and all liquor.
