I'm sure they were, but I don't know exactly how much they cost. We originally bought tickets for The Book of Mormon in 2020, but that never came to Seattle (Covid, you know), so we were able to transfer those ticket prices to Hamilton. David hasn't said how much the difference is, yet. ::)

When I went back to sleep, I had a Night oif the Living Dead nightmare in which I was one of many trying to keep the living dead away. I woke around 1:30 or so, rather frightened. I was very happy the aire had cooled enough to pull some blaqnkets over my head.

Curiously, the dream included no one who was in the production except for myself, but there were quite a few friends, co-workers, and employers from the 970s in it.

My first ever cranberry bagel, and it was delicious. Just enough flavor, not sweet like a cinnamon-raisin or blueberry (and btw, God even knows what these new hideous looking "rainbow" bagels at my store must taste like).

Definitely getting more of these.

I researched this once, and my notes are long gone but I learned that many orchestras use the "musical saw" in place of the flexatone in the Khachaturian piano concerto. I recognized that as what I'd first heard when I was introduced to the concerto as a kid. So I pulled out my orchestra score which I hadn't looked at in forever. On the page where that passage begins, a footnote says "whistling sound required". That would describe the saw, which has a sort of theremin-y sound as opposed to the rattle of a flexatone.

Keith died this weekend in Sag Harbor, where he had a lovely home right on the Sound, in a drowning accident. It hurts to type this.

I met him when he was in the artistic offices of the NY City Opera. For years I saw every production comped by Keith. In 2001 he helped me prepare materials for McGlinn's Babes in Toyland recording. After he left City Opera, we lost touch for a while, but reconnected on Facebook. He and his partner had given up their New York apartment and moved permanently to Sag Harbor. He was working as a dessert chef in the Hamptons.

I am devastated by his loss.
