Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a little Milhaud music, and now it is time for you to post until the little cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PANOPLY!
-
Well, the thunder isn't continuous, but it's continuing...and getting louder, which means that it's getting closer. There will be a big-ish noise, then stop for a bit, then some more noise, then stop for a bit again, then more noise.
-
I don't hear any rain, and I haven't noticed any light through my curtains from lightning.
-
Climate crisis...global warming...it's the end of the world!! :o
-
I just saw a lightning flash and instantly there was a LOUD thunderclap!!
-
And somewhere, off in the distance, a dog barked...literally. ;D
-
And NOW it has finally started raining!
-
Ooo...more lightning and thunder and rain!
-
Good morning, all.
-
This is really early for me, and it’s the start of my day with rehearsals AND a concert. I’ll have a few hours rest in between. It’s nothing particularly challenging, just time consuming.
-
And let it not be said that Amazon doesn’t know how to come through on day six.
DAY SIX, ladies and gentlemen.
Because my wake-up was greeted by their little love note telling me that my review is live.
IT’S ALIIIVE!
-
I feel bitchy and twitchy and manic!
-
Congratulations, DR ChasSmith!
-
Good morning, friends.

DR George didn't tell us that he was doing the experimental gay version of Sunday.
-
I must re-watch SLEEPERS. I never went to see it, but we dutifully watched it on rented VHS back in the day because the prison setting was filmed right here in Newtown, Connecticut, at the ancient and intriguing “haunted” Fairfield Hills Hospital. I distinctly remember being disappointed in the film, but now I’m inspired enough to give it another try — and on something a little better than a VHS tape playing on a 19-inch screen.
-
DR George, congratulations on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!!
-
~~~HARDCOVER VIBES~~~ for the likes of BK!!!!!!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept quite well last night, so I'm hoping the day continues to be a good one.
-
Last night, to refresh myself before Season 3, I watched the second half of Season 2 of Sanditon. I'll begin the new season tonight. I like the way the writer fills out his tale with references to other Austen novels and a bit of Jane Eyre.
-
Today I need to schedule my Access-a-Ride trips for tomorrow, have a Zoom meeting with Doug about the dances ending Act One, and make some edits in the final draft of Annabelle & Thatch.
-
Sleepers. Not to be confused with Sleeper.
-
I read Sleepers before I watched the film. I remember little about either now.
-
DR elmore3003, I have finally procured a copy of Heart of Oak where the CD inside matches the case.
-
And, like BK, an awaiting an Amazon third-party refund on the prior botched order.
-
Only a few more.
-
Only one more, actually.
-
TWO.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Weird dream. I was on a school team working on a banner for a competition about celebrating life st a time of death. The teacher forced our two-person team to use a dreary Japanese poem that was truly depressing and the color of everything was gray. We hated it.
We got permission to do our own banner, which was bright and colorful, and it was embraced by everyone. We tried to get the other banner removed but we were told we couldn’t.
In the end, our second banner won the people’s choice award, while the gray banner won the faculty award. When they announced the faculty award, it was ridiculed. The teacher tried to defend the decision, and somehow it came out that he was the only voter on the faculty side. That tarnished his reputation and he tried to make us look bad for doing a second banner that was so well liked. There were other banners up but I don’t remember anything about them.
The administration had to get involved because the teacher tried to punish us instead of giving us extra credit for winning. And then my bladder woke me up.
Whichever banner won, your dream didn't answer the most salient question: was DR ChasSmith carrying it?
-
Roll out the
barrel banner!
-
Ban the banner banter!
-
I slept OK last night, but I feel like could use about 4 more hours.
-
My boss might have a problem with that, however.
-
I fell asleep really early last night
-
I’ll try and do better tonight
-
But now I must Wordle and run
Perhaps we shall never know what DR vixmom thought about the revival of Oliver!
It is almost the end-times. Rivers overlowing. Sun obscured by wildfire smoke from Canada.
Heat wave in the Northwest.
Cats sleeping with dogs.
Congrats to DR GEORGE on his milestone....and once again making a spectacle of himself onstage.
-
My kitchen is almost out of cinnamon.
-
I have to go out to a couple of places this morning, but I shall return.
-
Tonight we are blocking Act Two - so I have marked my book and read through my lines a few times....
So today mostly I shall be practicing for tomorrow's event.
-
making a spectacle of himself onstage.
HA!
-
Rain rain rain.
I shall return abruptly.
-
Is your script water-proofed, DR Jrand72?
-
{{{hugs}}} to you in your preparations.
-
Speaking of preparations, I always thought it would be fun to do a children's book.
We know what preparation H is for. But what about all the other letters of the alphabet?
-
Nearing the end of another page.
-
Paging page three.
-
One more.
THREE.
-
DR elmore3003, I have finally procured a copy of Heart of Oak where the CD inside matches the case.
I love it! The arrangements are so fine, Have you played it?
-
I am beginning to think that our vixmom's days last week in the Big apple were so scandalous that she is too embarrassed to relate the facts to us.
-
Access-a-Ride scheduled, prescriptions ordered, and I must get ready to zoom.
-
Speaking of preparations, I always thought it would be fun to do a children's book.
WTF is Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Ooh boy I crashed, like, mid-post on here last night. I didn’t hear George’s thunder but a wild windstorm came through at some point and woke us up. Then rain. Now, it’s beautiful blue skies again.
-
I am beginning to think that our vixmom's days last week in the Big apple were so scandalous that she is too embarrassed to relate the facts to us.
Indeed the lack of promised information coming out of her camp makes the mind reel with intriguing possibilities.
-
John G, the amount of detail in that dream is remarkable.
-
I had a donair yesterday for dinner. Which, in Canada-speak, means I had a gyro.
More often than not, Canadians will call a couch or sofa a “chesterfield.”
That’s not all.
-
Cats sleeping with dogs.
Sheriff murdered, crops burned, stores looted, people stampeded, and cattle raped.
-
More often than not, Canadians will call a couch or sofa a “chesterfield.”
So, saying you're going to smoke a Chesterfield must lead to all kinds of confusion.
-
I just LOVE gyros!
-
Me wantee.
-
I would even eat a gyro on a Chesterfield.
In the common tongue, it's WTFF? The first three letters represent the vulgar expression and the final letter is for "Florida". I think it's reference to DeSantiClaws.
Just got an email from Amazon saying my A to Z claim has been found in my favor and they'll be issuing the refund.
-
Nothing from the publisher about the hardcover so another and stronger email is going out now.
-
If I were in Florida, I'd be trying to get out.
DR Vixmom, how does the Vixter and her hubby feel about living there?
-
Can you get Amazon to publish our reviews sooner?
And what about DR John living in Texas ;)
Tuesday afternoon greetings! Without going into too many gory details, I can tell you that one of Richard’s tests yesterday was problematic. He had to remain on the clear liquid diet and go this morning to our local hospital for an outpatient test that produced no catastrophic findings. That’s a relief, of course, but doesn’t explain much. He was basically told to live with it and eat more fiber.
-
I'm sorry, DR Ginny.
-
How does DH Richard feel about Metamucil?
-
Well mostly good news from DR GINNY!
-
The Dream-O-Matic has DR JOHN G's dream info - but it is making noises like Emerac in DESK SET....perhaps when I get home it will have an answer.
-
I called the Widow Green and asked her if she arranged a speaker for the gravesite portion of the events tomorrow.
She said: "I never even thought of that."
I told her whenever I have attended the gravesite after the service at the funeral home some yah-hoo always got up and started jaw-jacking.
So she asked me: "Do you want to be the yah-hoo?"
And I said sure.....so I will work on a few words - and she agreed we might give others a chance to say a few words if they wish....
I hope the weather is good.
One of the paper crafters I watch on YouTube often describes her work as “better than horrible.” That kind of how I feel about Richard’s results.
I honestly don't know what's up with Amazon these days. The average time for a review to post is now four to seven days and that is just ridiculous, IMO. They say it's because they're backed up, but why is now any different from six months ago when reviews would frequently hit within minutes or certainly within a day.
-
It's baffling.
-
Bibbity Bobbity Boo.
-
I'm baffled.
-
SIX is here, too.
-
Tried a new pizza place that does a 10" tiny pizza thing - Vincenzo's of NoHo. It was pretty good, actually, but for me the most important ingredient in pizza is the sauce - very little.
-
I'd better get to readin' so I can get to reviewin'.
-
Also had a small Caesar for some greens and that was pretty good.
-
I'm full now.
-
As you might imagine.
-
Yes, Singdaw read and review, a potent combination. Here's another potent combination - 34-74-8.
-
That was actually the combination to the safe at my father's restaurant. 34-74-8. The address of the restaurant was 3474 W. 8th - pretty easy.
-
I went all the way up the publisher food chain and it appears that action if finally taking place re the hardcover and they'll know something tomorrow, which will hopefully include an ETA.
-
That's good.
-
And good is good.
-
We need more good.
-
We also need more cling peaches.
-
Just because they're funny.
-
And we need more burgers, too.
-
And sangria.
Hello, everyone.
Yes, Singdaw read and review, a potent combination. Here's another potent combination - 34-74-8.
At first I thought those were someone’s measurements.
-
Glad they’re not.
This weekend I took jrand’s advice and wore all of my jewelry. Passersby looked at me rather strangely. I know my valuables were feeling homeless without a safe deposit box to reside in. It didn’t seem right to give attention to the jewels yet neglect the important documents, so I clipped on the title to my car and my passport as well.
;)
-
;D
-
I'm sure you were a vision, DR Jeanne.
-
And a caution.
-
On Monday I went to the new bank and opened a new safe deposit box. Everything is now safely stowed. The bank staff were all very nice and gave me a full explanation of their procedures. An entirely different experience from last Friday, when the teller refused to help me without an appointment.
-
And a caution.
Well, we find entertainment where we can.
-
The tiara was the tricky part. The damn thing kept slipping. I tried to secure it with a couple bobby pins, but it rather spoils the look, don’t you think? I managed to finally squeeze it into the safe deposit box. I’ll have to be careful when I open the box that it doesn’t jump out at me.
;)
-
Vibes to DR Ginny and DH Richard that an explanation is soon given and all proceeds smoothly.
DR JEANNE I am sure you were a sight to behold with all your adornments.
Long day tomorrow - but not any longer than many Dear Readers have to deal with several times a week.
-
DR JOHN G the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that your dream is a bit of a follow up to the one that you posted last week.
There is intrigue and drama at your work - probably not in the echelon just above yours - but the one above that.
Do not become involved in any drama - and do not attempt to correct anyone who is wrong even though you may be tempted to do so.
All will come out in the end with new faces replacing old and new rules that will benefit many.
One particular nemesis of yours is on the way out.
-
Tuesday.
-
Thank you, Dream-o-matic 6000.
“It turns out a rule of theater is you can’t send the audience to hell in the second act and there’s a dead boy band waiting for them.”
There were more people let go at work today. Don’t know how many, but I do know one.
-
Watching Targets, Bogdanovich’s first film. Sadly, it’s all too relevant today with its emphasis on mass shootings.
Doesn’t make it a great movie. But Boris Karloff is wonderful.
-
It rained 1.76 inches today, according to my rain gauge.
-
There were more people let go at work today. Don’t know how many, but I do know one.
I am sorry
-
I’ve been exhausted from my adventures
-
But after a good nights sleep and a nap here we go
-
Wednesday, after work, I drove home and Vixdad drove me to the train station
-
I traveled into the city and grabbed a subway down to Wall Street
-
Where I met Kerry who had arrived earlier
-
Our home for the next few days was a hotel down on Water Street
-
We caught up a bit then changed into something a bit fancier and grabbed a cab to take us cross town
-
There we went to a piano lounge to see a band led by a piano player we’ve seen before, a talented singer named Mike Greko who, as far as I know, only sings covers, I’ve never seen him play anything original.
-
The first set was Bowie, Billy Joel, Beatles , Elton John covers , quite fun
-
There were three sets, but we left after the first, since Kerry at that point had been wake for 24 hours, having woken at 4 am GMT to catch her plane
-
A friend of ours decided to surprise us by turning up at the second set
-
Unfortunately, we surprised him by not being there anymore
-
But we caught a cab back to the hotel and went to sleep.
-
The next morning we woke much refreshed and headed to the subway to start our day
-
( we only took cabs the night before because Kerry was too wiped out to deal with walking and stairs after all her travel)
-
We headed over to Flippers for some lovely soufflé pancakes
-
Also I had brown sugar milk with boba
-
Kerry had an iced coffee
-
While at breakfast I realized I had received some messages from the Vixter the night before
-
I seemed to have accidentally “clicked” on them without noticing, so it appeared I had read and not responded to her messages
-
A little background now…
Since she was little she has always made us personalized hand drawn cards for special occasions. They will have caricatures of us and reference a memory or inside joke and they’re very special.
-
Her message was that since she had a new job she has been really busy and hadn’t had time to make my card yet but she would call on Mothers’ Day
-
The second message was to ask if I’d like to see a picture of the cake she made for the office potluck
-
So as a joke I sent her a voice message, in my best hurt, annoyed , angry mom voice
-
“ sure , you don’t have time to make a card for your own mother, but you have time to bake a cake for your work buddies. THEY didn’t sound 16 hours in labor with you. FINE. I see where your priorities lie.”
-
I immediately followed it with another voice message, laughing and saying I was joking, it was fine, I was looking forward to talking to her Sunday and I’d love to see the cake picture
-
Only I left the second message as we were walking down the steps into the subway
-
And it didn’t send
-
Which I only realized when I received a very panicked apology paragraph of text
-
It was only 15 minutes before I was able to resend the “I was joking” message but ACK!
-
After traumatizing my daughter, Kerry and I headed over to Little Island, the artificially created island park just off the lower west side
-
We had a nice walk through the gardens
-
And played in the twirly things
-
These things
-
After we were throughly dizzy we had a little rest then headed over to the high line
-
This is an old elevated train track that has been reimagined as a garden /park / walkway its 1.45-mile-long and runs from Gansevoort St. to 34th St. on Manhattan's West Side.
-
We walked up to 34th street
-
And stopped along the way to lounge and enjoy the views
-
And some of the art installations
-
Then we walked down to street level at 34th Street and visited Macy’s
-
And rode the wooden escalator
-
Good night, all.
-
After a snack in Macy’s Starbucks we grabbed a subway back to the hotel
-
There we freshened up, changed our outfits and headed back uptown to meet some friends for dinner at Virgil’s BBQ
-
Where I failed to take pictures of my half rack of baby back ribs
-
But did get pictures with my friends
-
And then….
-
It was very interesting, with a handful of jump scares and I do recommend it
-
Afterwards, at dessert at my beloved Lillian’s Victorian, we discussed our various interpretations of the play…as it does indeed leave itself open to interpretation.
-
Then we all said our goodbyes, and Kerry and we all headed back to our beds
-
Which, spelled backward, is airgnas.
Which, with just a slight adjustment, could be Air 'n gas...
-
Here endeth the first full day of frivolity
-
I like the warning cones!
It's a good thing they were there! ::)
-
Health vibes for Richard
-
Maybe you should message Kate Windsor and asked her how she deals with her tiaras?
She is likely doing very well now that she doesn't have Meghan Windsor to boss around any more.
-
Coping vibes for Ginny
Great story and great pictures, Vixmom!
Oh, I forgot to mention, Sally Field was sitting a few rows in front of us, she looks great!
She was very kindly chatting with people who came up to her after the show but one lady was bending her ear for a very long time so we decided not to add to her inconvenience and let her alone
Good night folks
Wow! Under those circumstances, I wouldn't have approached her either.
-
Finished with my viewing and must write some damn notes.
-
Tonight, we ran the show.
-
It went as well as could be expected...so, it certainly wasn't perfect. ;)
-
Am I too late for the nightly wit and merrymaking?
-
I say “no!”
-
With the next page so near…
-
And George here.
-
Am I too late for the nightly wit and merrymaking?
Never!
-
PAGE ELEVEN DANCE!!
-
Let’s “turn the page” as Bob Seger says.
-
11’s the number for me!
One more picture...here's the 20th century scene on the island:
-
I don't know if that's the final image that'll be used for the modern island.
-
They were changing images throughout the evening, which didn't affect me, at all.
-
George, do you believe a bad run-through means a good opening night? Has that been your experience?
-
There's only one time when I look upstage, and that picture has always been the island with the images of the people removed.
-
And here we are on page eleven.
-
And we're all here.
-
We're all there.
-
We're all everywhere.
-
George hit quite a monumental number.
-
George, do you believe a bad run-through means a good opening night? Has that been your experience?
Not really. I've had bad final run-throughs with bad opening nights, good run-throughs with good performances, and even good run-throughs and bad opening nights...and bad run-throughs with good performances.
-
I myself am a monumental number.
-
So, it'll be what it'll be.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
George hit quite a monumental number.
Yup! :D
-
I wrote them.
-
I myself am a monumental number.
Of that, there is no doubt!
-
And now they can be read.
-
And George can finish a book.
-
Which is a must.
-
An absolute must.
-
A must of a must.
-
And George can finish a book.
There is that. ::)
;)
-
A must's must.
-
But not a musty must.
-
Page twelve.
-
But I'm not the only one who needs to finish a book!
-
Page twelve.
Hoo and Ray!
Truth is anything under 90% Customer rating on Amazon would give me pause.
-
85% might as well be zero.
Of course you read and see what people are complaining about. If more than a couple say a thing never shipped, forget it.
