Well, you've read the notes, the notes had both power and June, and now it is time for you to post until the June cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PRISMATIC!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
BK, today is not Friday. It's Thursday. ::)
-
(re: today's Topic of the Day in your notes. ;) )
-
Great interview, BK! He did ask a couple of questions that you had already answered, but otherwise, he asked some good ones.
-
Today, we have a pick-up rehearsal for Sunday in the Park with George. Then tomorrow, I'll be lunching with Jane and Keith, then they will see the show! Can't wait! ;D
-
But first, to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Oops, today isn't Friday!
-
But before I go, congrats on the newest win for Sami!!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
~~~MAJOR MIRACLE VIBES~~~ for the likes of BK!!!!!
~~~TRAVEL VIBES~~~ for DR Jane and DH Keith!!!!!!
-
Nice interview, BK.
-
In my production of Assassins, the recurring line "I want my prize" will be altered to "I want my pies."
-
A pie fight will ensue.
-
In fact, DR George, in your current production of Sunday, Louis could start a pie fight.
-
Since Louis is a baker, it would make perfect sense.
-
Dramaturgically.
-
I don't eat my French silk pie folded.
-
OR dipped in ranch.
-
What am I nattering on about?
-
DR Ron Pulliam, I am glad that you had spaghetti.
-
It is one of my favorite things ever.
-
The power of Dainty June.
-
And her farm boys.
-
What did Della wear, boys?
-
Over on TikTok, they're making "Brazilian Lemonade."
It uses limes and condensed milk.

BK, today is not Friday. It's Thursday. ::)
I keep thinking today is Friday, too!
-
And good morning, all!
-
I s;ept really well last night, following a night of about five hours of sleep. Stella was a complete pest from around 3:30 to 5:30 this morning. I was resdy to kill.
-
BK, another SAMI award! Congratulations.
-
Good morning. Here I am UP at the crack of dawn. Or was that actually two hours ago? I don't know.
Must be on the road in under 90 minutes. Must have coffee and get cleaned up.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I wish it were Friday.
-
I am showered, shaved, deodorized, dressed and have my coffee by my side.
And still have 37 minutes to spare!
-
My ice chest is in the back of my car, filled with frozen thingies to keep my foods cold.
-
Things I miss doing:
Going into a record store and thumbing through all the new and used soundtracks to find a treasure.
Going into a video store and perusing new and old releases.
Yes, my fingers do the "going" nowadays at discogs.com or amazon.com or whatever other service site I may find myself being directed toward...but none of it matches the pleasure of browsing and looking at what other people are finding fascinating.
-
I wish it were Friday.
It will be. Tomorrow. I promise.
-
Where are you going Ron? I must have missed a post.
-
I too thought today was Friday
-
It feels very Fridayish
-
Congratulations to Bruce and Sami on another win!
-
I enjoyed your zoom interview

Guess I’ll Wordle and go

So live, that when thy summons comes to join
The innumerable caravan, which moves
To that mysterious realm, where each shall take
His chamber in the silent halls of death,
Thou go not, like the quarry-slave at night,
Scourged to his dungeon, but, sustained and soothed
By an unfaltering trust, approach thy grave,
Like one who wraps the drapery of his couch
About him, and lies down to pleasant dreams.
This is the final section of William Cullen Bryant's "Thanatopsis", a meditation on death.
I had to memorize this section in 9th grade homeroom English for my teacher, Mr. Robert C. Richardson. He was a fine southern gentleman who also served as mayor of a nearby town called Simpsonville. Every student of his I have ever known was very grateful to have been taught by him. He was, unreservedly, the best teacher I had.
-
Where are you going Ron? I must have missed a post.
Driving to North Augusta SC (across the Savannah River border with Augusta GA) for an allergist appointment. After that, I shall boogey over to CostCo and then come home.
-
Lovely tribute to a teacher, DR Ron Pulliam.

Agree. I found some of the oddest items in my collection that way. Local cast recordings of original musicals.

It was in Mr. Richardson's class that I learned to "parse" sentences.
For those who do not recognize the word "parse", it is equivalent to "diagramming".
I loved doing the exercises in this. It laid out the whole foundation for the rest of my school life and my career in journalism (Navy).

One might even say a parse is part and parcel of your life!

I am pretty sure I regaled everyone with this story, but I have never had a better shopping experience than one I had in London in 1983. When I was a journalism instructor at Defense Information School, I was sent to a high-security Air Force base in Luton, north of London, to teach a three-day basics course in news and feature writing for volunteers who worked in the high-security area of the site. Base journalists weren't allowed to go into those areas, so they needed someone within those sites who could write stories about unclassified things that impacted those security personnel. That way, they could read about themselves in the base newspaper.
I wrangled two extra days for a trip to London where I hoped I'd find some great movie soundtracks (in 1983, there weren't a lot of options of finding some incredible re-releases that were hitting the specialty markets...not in Indianapolis, anyway).
I spent an entire day scouring London for record stores and found very little to satisfy my wants. Tired and discouraged, I was only interested in getting back to my hotel. To do that, I had to figure where I was in relation to the tube station at Trafalgar Square.
I stopped on a corner and consulted my street map. I had to find where I was and then find where I should go for the station.
As I looked around, my eyes saw a window stenciled with "58 Dean Street...We Specialize in film soundtracks and theatrical recordings" or some similar wording.
I was practically numb as I walked over, went inside and beheld rows and rows of bins filled with records.
I pigged out. Bought 35 LPs..some of which I would never have believed I could get.
-
And I now bid you all adieu...until later in the day.
-
One might even say a parse is part and parcel of your life!
Just so long as there is a subject/verb/object juxtaposition.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I remember diagramming, and I remember that I liked it. Of course I couldn't do it now if my life depended on it. So I hope it doesn't.
-
That record store in London sounds like something out of one those dreams you have that you practically cry when you wake up to the realization that it was, in fact, only a dream.
-
Well, it doesn't feel like a Friday to ME. Not after Tuesday and Wednesday feeling like Monday and Tuesday. No, sir. Just the opposite for me. Today now feels like a Wednesday, and the thought that tomorrow is, in fact, Friday just feels completely wrong.
-
So maybe it's finally happened.
They've messed with the days so much that it really IS different days in different parts of the country.
Yep, I think that's what's happened.
-
Wut?
-
As the kids are saying these days.
-
I think.
-
My union pension arrived this morning in my bak account. I just paid my bills and there is no more money in my account.
-
The book for Encores! production of Once Upon a Mattress is getting a "woke" revisal script. WTF? Why bother to do it?
I was looking forward to this since Joshie and I are restoring the score.
-
That's exciting news, DR elmore3003!
-
I think Winifred is a better fit for Sutton than Marian was.
-
I'm already sick of "woke" revisions to existing works, and I fear we have only entered the era of that.
If you don't like or approve of something old, just don't do it. Get new material. Write your own. And if it sells, fine. If it doesn't, you took the same risk as every other artist in history.
-
But that being said, I am VERY happy to hear that the Clayton-Moore team will be back at it!
-
Sadly, I will probably not bother to spend any bucks going to the Lincoln Center revisal of Camelot, something I would otherwise have jumped at in a heartbeat. I've read so many descriptions and reviews of Sorkin's changes to the book that I don't believe I could sit through it without audibly gagging. In spite of the gorgeous (mostly) original score being played by that orchestra. I'll just have to settle for checking out the cast recording. And maybe this one will get a telecast, who knows.
-
Why do I feel like we all ate our fill of pizza yesterday? :D
-
Thus far, I have eaten (1) banana and (1) slice of toast with orange marmalade, and I'm on my second cup of joe.
Edit: I nixed the capitalization of joe, believing that to be correct since one is not referring to anyone with that proper-noun name.
-
I must leave at noon for a rehearsal, then again at 6:30 in the p.m. for a brief concert. Well, my part is brief, I'm only accompanying two songs. It'll be relaxing and enjoyable to just sit there for the rest.
-
Here I sit in the very nice waiting room of my allergy clinic. Surprise! Surprise! My appt. Was for 10:40. And not 10. Will be waiting about an hour. This s is what I get for not paying close attention to my appt. calendar.
-
That record store in London sounds like something out of one those dreams you have that you practically cry when you wake up to the realization that it was, in fact, only a dream.
Happily, it was real! Still have all those LPs!
-
I remember diagramming, and I remember that I liked it. Of course I couldn't do it now if my life depended on it. So I hope it doesn't.
Doesn’t. I remember parsing very complex sentences on exams. The only exams I ever enjoyed other than spelling quizzes.

I liked your London shopping story DR RON PULLIAM.
Your extra 40 minutes is a good chance to do some people watching.
Of course I posted about my London shopping experience here last month - when a man entered the store and told the clerk he would like to see something nice in men's medium underpants.....
-
If it was/were/is Friday, I would have the night off.
But it is Thursday and we are doing Act One tonight....and production photos of GREASE are being taken....which means some of the boys will be wearing enough makeup to qualify as contestants on RuPaul's Drag Race unless I get there soon enough to stop them.
-
Congrats to MR BK on the important envelopes, the interview, and the SAMI awards.
June is here at last.
-
TOD:
Up With The Sun by Thomas Mallon is a novel about a real life event - the murder of actor Dick Kallman.
It kind of falls apart in places where the fiction shines through - but it is an interesting account of a true story.
-
This explains so much!
-
Ha! Beautiful!
-
I just got suckered into reading a post by "Joshua Clayton", and spending time pondering why he would make this particular post...
Then I went to his profile and OF COURSE it was the FAKE Josh. Damn it to HELL.
I hadn't come up against that in a while, and had forgotten.
-
Okay, I must go now. Rehearsal, then back home to do some more clean-up for the cable guy.
Lord.
-
The FAKE Josh?
That reminds me that yesterday, the DH played for a funeral. The surviving widow had a career as a Hillary Clinton impersonator. And apparently they really do look alike!
-
Wishing a most joyous anniversary celebration for DR Jane and DH Keith!!!
-
Yes Happy Anniversary to Jane & Keith.
-
Were we talking about autographs the other day?
When MR BK came to Indiana to see a production of THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X - he brought along former DR Chas Pogue.
Before the show former DR KURT and I and the two special guests ate a meal at Shapiro's Deli so that MR BK could see some genuine Indiana Jews.
MR BK autographed a photograph from The First Nudie Musical for me -- John Smithee on a camera crane.
And CP autographed my DVD copy of THE FLY.
-
I also have a few Carroll Baker autographs on lobby cards and photos.
My rarest signatures are two from Frances Farmer, a photo inscribed to me and a letter - and a few signatures from Allison Hayes in some cards she sent me when we had a brief correspondence in the early 1970's.
-
It's still Thursday.
I need to read Act One.
-
Rehearsal vibes for DR CHAS SMITH & DR GEORGE.
-
Just me and 0 guests. Must be lunch time.
-
From DR John:
As soon as you say, “Don’t do this” or “Don’t do that,” pretty soon your kid is up on the roof smoking a cigarette they stole out of your backpack. That’s just the way kids are. The more books that you ban, the more things you tell the child to sneak around looking for. Whereas if, for example, the book wasn’t banned, but it was assigned, that’s when the child might not read it. Children need to read a whole lot of different points of view to understand their own point of view. And as they read all those other points of view, their own ideas about things form themselves.
Jane Smiley
Excellent point.

When my father discovered I had checked out Lady Chatterley's Lover from the school library he wasn't happy. He let me finished reading it. I should have told him I found her to be a bore-lol
-
That was in high school. Things sure have changed since then.
-
DR Jrand, thanks about the case.
-
Jrand, congrats on being even funnier.
-
LOL Ron. I do like purple.
-
Thanks George.
-
From George:
All my relatives from Germany who've visited have eaten pizza with knives and forks.
Interesting.
-
Keith prefers to eat his pizza with a knife and fork.
-
I only use a knife and fork when it too difficult to hold the pizza, and then once I am about half way in I pick it up to eat with my hands.
-
Bruce, if the pizza is too hot to handle it is too hot to go into my mouth.
-
BK, today is not Friday. It's Thursday. ::)
It had better be Thursday as we haven't left home yet.
-
We will be living mid day, and spending our anniversary at a nice hotel in Olympia.

Today, we have a pick-up rehearsal for Sunday in the Park with George. Then tomorrow, I'll be lunching with Jane and Keith, then they will see the show! Can't wait! ;D

My ice chest is in the back of my car, filled with frozen thingies to keep my foods cold.
You are prepared for your day of appointments and errands :)
-
I am now back home.
The nurse took me early and gave me the standard breathing tests, and then showed me into a room where she said the Nurse Practitioner would join me shortly.
The room was cold, so I propped the door open to let some warm air from the passageway work itself in.
After my appointment was over, I boogied over to CostCo. There were hundreds, if not thousands, of cars in the parking lot, but I found space reasonably close to the entrance.. There was no automated cart available.
I don't know if I have made it known, but one year ago I was almost immobilized by a sciatica problem in my left hip. I was undergoing physical therapy and using a walker. Once I was able to ditch the walker for short walks, I began using the automated carts at Sam's Club and CostCo. I have done that religiously since last year.
Today, however, I decided I'd grit it out with a push cart. The store was very busy and lots of elderly folks who don't look before pushing their carts out, or who believe they need to walk down the center of an aisle rather than let someone pass. (That's just me bitching about nothing, so ignore that part).
When I was done and got through checkout, I breezed out of the store, got to my car, which was parked next to a cart return. Unloaded, left the cart and began my drive home.
That's when I began to feel the effects of my "exercise". Nevertheless, I persevered and stopped at Sara's Roadside Produce stand and bought some fresh maters, squash, cucumber and corn.
And now I am home, car is unloaded, groceries put away -- and as my maternal grandfather used to say: "I be's tarred".

A lot of this new/old stuff seems more like destruction than "woke".

Boy, is it hot!
Well, hot in comparison with all the ups and downs we've had all year. It's just that suddenly today we're in the high 80s, as we will be again tomorrow before it drops down again, and we're not used to that.
-
Just finished lunch:
Two (2) chicken & bean enchiladas (or were they called burritos?) (I already threw away the wrap) (and it doesn't really matter) from Trader Joe's, and some Trader Joe's tortilla chips with the remains of some Stew Leonard's chunky guacamole.
I wasn't sure how wonderful the enchiladas (burritos) would be, and I guess you couldn't claim they're anything spectacular, but they tasted just fine. It was a yummy lunch.

Jackie Gleason and Bob Hope have something to say to Ron DeSantis.
-
I now have three hours to relax and maybe read something, maybe listen to something, maybe try to nap, or maybe to actually do what I'm supposed to be doing, which is cleaning up the corner of the Music Room where the cable connections are.
-
But HHW is a family site.
-
Jackie Gleason and Bob Hope have something to say to Ron DeSantis.
I wonder if that picture is from the Miami Beach (FLORIDA) venue where Gleason's show was in the early '60s.

Back from banking - Union Bank is now officially US Bank. Thankfully, no wait there, and same at my BofA, so that was nice.

Kind of sad for me to no longer see the Union Bank signs. If you recall I worked seven years at three different offices.

Wow, a shocker this afternoon.
My work team is small - less than 12 folks. About 4 years ago, just before the pandemic, 3 team members were suddenly not there one day. Just - vanished. With no real explanation.
Well, today we found out why. The state Attorney General has charged the three with financial fraud to benefit family members.
-
The upside is that the financial controls in place caught it almost immediately, and it was dealt with. The bad news is that this is going to be in the news, with our group named as the area where the fraud took place.

Yes, my fingers do the "going" nowadays at discogs.com or amazon.com or whatever other service site I may find myself being directed toward...but none of it matches the pleasure of browsing and looking at what other people are finding fascinating.

Agree. I found some of the oddest items in my collection that way. Local cast recordings of original musicals.
35 records at one time?? I'm jealous!!

One might even say a parse is part and parcel of your life!
Just so long as there is a subject/verb/object juxtaposition.
It's all Greek to me! ::)
;)

The book for Encores! production of Once Upon a Mattress is getting a "woke" revisal script. WTF? Why bother to do it?
I was looking forward to this since Joshie and I are restoring the score.
Congrats, Larry! And hopefully, it's not too screwed up.

This explains so much!

Rehearsal vibes for DR CHAS SMITH & DR GEORGE.
Thanks, Jrand!

DR elmore3003 didn't mention if he ever got his scans.

Siri keeps saying "...and don't call me Shirley."

I finally figured out it's because my phone is in Airplane mode.
-
SEVEN.
-
Larry, how wonderful that you’ll be working on Once Upon A Mattress!
I love that score, especially the song “Normandy”.
-
Sutton Foster will belt the h*ll out of “Shy”.
-
Happy Anniversary to Jane and Keith! ❤️
Enjoy your visit with George in the park. 😊
Thanks, Iris!
-
DR John, i hope you’re feeling better.
Are you still planning a trip to Hawaii?
-
My daughter is sending me many photos of Greece and Turkey.
The spice bazaar in Istanbul is outstanding. I would have a hard time leaving.
And the mosques are magnificent.
-
I haven’t seen posts from DR Laura in a long time.
Maybe I missed something.
Is everything ok as far as you all know?

It’s HOT up here! 🎶
90 degrees tomorrow.

DR Singdaw, that’s adorable!
-
Wow, a shocker this afternoon.
My work team is small - less than 12 folks. About 4 years ago, just before the pandemic, 3 team members were suddenly not there one day. Just - vanished. With no real explanation.
Well, today we found out why. The state Attorney General has charged the three with financial fraud to benefit family members.
:o
-
Oh, good, if she’s posting on FB, then all must be well.
Thanks, Singdaw, for letting me know.

;D
-
The upside is that the financial controls in place caught it almost immediately, and it was dealt with. The bad news is that this is going to be in the news, with our group named as the area where the fraud took place.
Hopefully the company will be able to counter the bad news with the info regarding the controls in place.

[A lof of verbiage deleted for spacing]
When I was done and got through checkout, I breezed out of the store, got to my car, which was parked next to a cart return. Unloaded, left the cart and began my drive home.
That's when I began to feel the effects of my "exercise". Nevertheless, I persevered and stopped at Sara's Roadside Produce stand and bought some fresh maters, squash, cucumber and corn.
And now I am home, car is unloaded, groceries put away -- and as my maternal grandfather used to say: "I be's tarred".
Is this telling you that you need to walk more, or to get PT again?
Totally that I need to walk more...a lot more.
-
So, I napped.
Two hours of nap.
Still tired, but a bit better. I need to be able to sleep tonight, so I will make the most of the rest of my awake time by staying awake.
-
I am rather glad my favorite shows are now on hiatus untl a new season.
I don't believe I have the energy to follow anything new.

I still have my slingpaw radar, however, and shan't miss an opportunity that needs my attention.

We have tried 3 times to get to Istanbul. One day.....
Not to sound boorish, but...you will LOVE it! Have been there twice, both times on military travel but with lots of time to enjoy the sights.
-
Bruce, I swear I am doing my best to get us to the next page but I don't know if I can muster the necessary amount of lunacy to get us there.
-
I can tell you right now, our "0 guests" aren't going to help.
-
One more on Lucky Number Seven, please.

Did I get it done?
YES!!

DR John, i hope you’re feeling better.
Are you still planning a trip to Hawaii?
Thank you. I’m still planning on going. But my stomach today is not happy
-
DR George: I know that buying 35 LPs seems a bit profligate, but I was in Europe, with Travelers Checks bought with money I had been saving for just such a splurge should I ever be lucky enough TO splurge.
Not only that, but the salesman had placed them in a heavy duty extra-large bag, and there they stayed on the flight home, on the floor between my legs. They never left my sight!!
-
How can anyone not like page seven? DR Iris posted there. That made it just dandy.

I have gotten that many from BK at once.

But never in a store.

12 to 15 may have been my max.

-
My gosh, DR Jane.
-
This is craziness.
-
Yes it is.
-
I don't know why customs still has it or if they lost it.
-

That's a real bummer.

~~~VIBES~~~ that everything lines up for your trip, DR John G.
Hello, everyone.
Happy Anniversary to Jane and Keith!
Congrats to BK on another Sami win!
In my production of Assassins, the recurring line "I want my prize" will be altered to "I want my pies."
I had a somewhat similar experience in London once, but in my case it was a bookstore. I don’t recall the name, but I believe it was on the Strand. So many books that I never saw in stores here! I didn’t purchase 35, but it was a big purchase for me. Such a delight.
From DR John:
As soon as you say, “Don’t do this” or “Don’t do that,” pretty soon your kid is up on the roof smoking a cigarette they stole out of your backpack. That’s just the way kids are. The more books that you ban, the more things you tell the child to sneak around looking for. Whereas if, for example, the book wasn’t banned, but it was assigned, that’s when the child might not read it. Children need to read a whole lot of different points of view to understand their own point of view. And as they read all those other points of view, their own ideas about things form themselves.
Jane Smiley
Excellent point.
I used to work with a woman named Marge, who had two kids. Marge had a somewhat different approach to child rearing. Instead of prohibiting her kids from the usual swear words she told them they couldn’t say “stupid”. When her kids would get mad the’d say, “Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!” The usual swear words held little interest.
The criminal charges were just filed this week.
It wasn't the insurance per se; the employees were entering false data into our systems which triggered state payments to outside vendors run by or owned by their relatives. Classic embezzlement.
Great Leader was selling this stuff to his followers not very long ago. Now, the rainbows would probably trigger them into a veritable tizzy.
-
Why thank you, DR George! Who knew? Apparently you did.
Hmmm.... a guy I worked with was also fired for embezzlement at one of my first jobs out of college. There seems to be a trend here, with ME as the common denominator!
-
DR George, will you be partaking of the whipped cream tonight at the touch-up rehearsal?
-
Inquiring minds want to know.
-
I polled my co-workers today on pizza and ranch dressing.
-
Only one said she 100% supported (and does) the method.
-
One other said she would bypass the ranch and dip her pizza slices in melted garlic butter.
-
I work with a bunch of weirdos, apparently. :)
If they're not embezzling, they're desecrating their pizza.
Earlier, we had lightning and thunder. Now, it's sunny. Go figure.
July 4th falls on a Tuesday this year, so no long weekend.
But this will be the first year that Juneteenth is a state holiday, and that will fall on a Monday.
-
Tell me on a Sunday in the park with George.
-
Sunday, Funday.
On the other hand, rainy days and Mondays always get me down.
I'm down with that.
I'm jiggy with that.
Why thank you, DR George! Who knew? Apparently you did.
I just happened to notice it.
DR George, will you be partaking of the whipped cream tonight at the touch-up rehearsal?
Sadly, no. :( We'll just have a piano/keyboard, no set pieces, and minimal props, which means no Fake French Pastries with Real Whipped Cream.
-
One other said she would bypass the ranch and dip her pizza slices in melted garlic butter.
Ooo...that sounds good. ;D
Tell me on a Sunday in the park with George.
Years ago, friends of mine made up their own medley called, "The Sound of Music Man of La Mancha." It was hysterical...and really good.
Tonight, I treated myself to a rib eye steak. I cooked it on my cast iron grill pan (recommended by America's Test Kitchen).
The steak turned out beautifully. I gorged. I finished it. I won't need steak for a while now.
And I am very, very tired. All over tired. To the tips of my toes tired.
I am willing.
The spinach artichoke dip with homemade chips was exceptional.
Too funny, singdaw!
The 3 variety chips were flavorable and not too thin, just right.
I had pizza today, which renewed my puzzlement over how you all eat pizza. Please satisfy my curiosity because I truly cannot fathom any other way than picking it up and folding it.
I liked your London shopping story DR RON PULLIAM.
Your extra 40 minutes is a good chance to do some people watching.
Of course I posted about my London shopping experience here last month - when a man entered the store and told the clerk he would like to see something nice in men's medium underpants.....
Wouldn’t we all….
-
Your meal sounds delightful, DR Jane, from start to finish.
-
I confess to using a fork and knife, DR vixmom. I know, I'm a heathen.
Heathen is as heathen does.
Once a law firm I worked for was raided by the FBI
-
We were all required to leave all our personal possessions and walk out of the office .
-
I had a closing that day, with clients coming in to sign
-
Our office was in a large building with a central atrium with tables and chairs
-
With the FBI’s permission, after they looked carefully through my legal papers, I was permitted to conduct the closing in the atrium
-
Your meal sounds delightful, DR Jane, from start to finish.
It truly was. If this restaurant was local for us we would eat there often,
-
We turned out all the lights in the lobby of our office and told the clients we were having electrical problems
-
Once the closing was over the FBI inspected the contents of my purse and I was permitted to go home
-
Not long afterward the partners of the firm were put on trial
-
They each spend 5 years in a federal penitentiary
-
They were charged with , and convicted of, bribing police officials, essentially giving kickbacks to those who had the power to assign PBA legal work to law firms
-
With the FBI’s permission, after they looked carefully through my legal papers, I was permitted to conduct the closing in the atrium
Thank goodness.
-
The officials who both demanded and received the kickbacks retired with full benefits
-
Justice served? Hmmmmm
-
They each spend 5 years in a federal penitentiary
Wow.
-
Happy Anniversary Jane and Keith!
-
Jane please do me a favor and give George a big hug from me tomorrow
-
Congratulations on your shiny new posting plateau, Singsong!
-
Ron, that sounds like a very exciting shopping trip! Do you still have all those albums?
-
I called Cosori to find out the status of my recall application, only to be told they had no record of receiving it.
-
So I have just resubmitted
-
I’ll call tomorrow to confirm it was received
I had to restart my modem - but things seem to be moving along now.
Thirteen Ghosts.
13 Chairs.
-
We did Act One twice....which means I got a face full of water....twice....it was pretty funny.
-
And I worked out a new bit with my cigarette.....
-
And I stepped on a screw and it went through my sneaker into my foot....so I stopped by the emergency room and got a Tetanus booster....and they said it would be all right.....luckily my shoe sole is thick and it was a short screw.....as screws go.
-
All of the boys were standing around looking at the makeup.....so Rizzo and I held a tutorial.....of course some know EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING - so I will be interested to see the photos and see the difference.....in faces.
Well it is nearly midnight here - so I think I will hit the hay.
I eat pizza with my mouth.
Just saying.
-
I tried ranch on pizza once. I could understand the appeal, but it wasn’t a good ranch.
-
But then again, I love anchovy pizza.
-
My stomach finally settled down.
-
Now it’s time for bed.
-
But I am not entirely sleepy yet.
Last night my history of the exclamation point really made me sleepy.
I may try that again.
Only have about 50 pages left.
I’m also halfway though The Voyage Out.
Still my favorite Virginia Woolf.
13 was so good I wanted to do it again.
-
Good night, all.
-
Jane please do me a favor and give George a big hug from me tomorrow
That will be easy to do.
-
And I stepped on a screw and it went through my sneaker into my foot....so I stopped by the emergency room and got a Tetanus booster....and they said it would be all right.....luckily my shoe sole is thick and it was a short screw.....as screws go.
Oh my, fast healing vibes.
-
I am falling asleep.
-
Finished one motion picture.
-
May try another short one.
-
The one I just finished was, sans end titles, seventy-seven minutes, a French movie from France.
-
'night
-
Wow! Gratuitous Post #400!! :D
-
On a whim I bought a ticket to see this , this coming Saturday
(http://www.haineshisway.com/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=7249.0;attach=17553)
Cool!
Oh, my goodness! Glad you're (relatively) okay, Jrand!
-
I eat pizza with my mouth.
I usually eat my pizza with my hands...and sometimes I eat my hands separately. ;)
-
But then again, I love anchovy pizza.
:P
-
Go before you go - I hear it's a L O N G play with no intermission.
So you’re saying I should go before I go
-
Ack! Foot healing vibes for Jack!
OK all you wisenheimers, that’s it…next NYC HHW reunion we’re all going to John’s Pizza so I can see what the HELL you’re all doing
-
Bedtime has long gone…I should too
-
Good night
-
Jrand got screwed.
-
Glad he's okay.
-
And?
-
Really?
-
Is that so?
-
I had no idea.
-
Even though I got plenty of sleep, including at least ninety minutes during the late afternoon, I still feel tired.
-
And yet, I'm wide awake.
-
And yet, tired.
-
Funny.
-
Shouldn't page fifteen be somewhere nearby?
-
See?
-
Rodz all caught up!
-
Whew!
-
Let’s get this thing to sixteen!
-
Happy Anniversary to the couple I call “Jeith”!
-
Enjoyed the FB pix of you two kids.
-
BK, I always wonder if the obnoxious communications you get are from the same person or persons. Or different obnoxious randos.
-
I believe the posting MVP today was Ron P. Interesting tales and takes.
-
As a still-recovering vinyl record fiend, Ron’s tale of big last-minute finds was amazing. I’ve had days like that, mostly at thrift stores. It’s rare now with a lot of young record hunters in competition.
-
Found a nice copy of Leonard Cohen’s first LP today at Value Village. That was nice.
-
And a “Dukes of Hazzard” tv show cast album that is now somewhat valuable.
-
And a 2-lp set of Tagalog poetry that looks promisingly bizarre.
-
The clean out of the in-laws place continues. These people saved everything they ever got. Ever.
Here’s where I must stop and mock myself for overuse of “nice.”
-
Son had a play date here with a kid from school. When this happens, I have to get the visiting kid’s passport or birth certificate from his parents.
-
Always from the same person.
-
And where, pray tell, is George? Down some damn rabbit hole?
-
Too many rabbit holes.
-
I do not care for rabbit holes.
-
I just don't.
-
Today’s was made more comical by the fact his family lives right on the border. I could literally drive behind his house and put him into his backyard. But that’s not allowed.
-
Always from the same person.
Oy.
-
Singdaw and the Embezzlement Caper! Yikes.
-
I have a cousin who worked for a bank and tried something stupid once out of desperation. She ended up in federal prison for a few years.
-
I have 52 first cousins. I think that’s the only one who did time.
-
One other cousin we don’t know what happened to. Def got mixed up in bad stuff. Just don’t know jail or not.
-
And a “Dukes of Hazzard” tv show cast album that is now somewhat valuable.
That's cool!
-
Oh George?
-
Show up at midnight.
-
The rest of us kept our noses clean, more or less.
-
Not before.
-
Sweet 16!!
-
Better late George than never George!
-
And a 2-lp set of Tagalog poetry that looks promisingly bizarre.
Interesting...there are three women in SitPwG who are Filipina. I think only two speak Tagalog, though. One of the two does speak another dialect.
That's my name...don't wear it out! ;D
-
New notes are up.
-
Our run-through this evening went well.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
The show was quicker than it's ever been, of course.
-
Does BK hate page 17? Or only page 7? Could we find out?
-
Hopefully, that will help us pick up the pace during the rest of the performances because it wouldn't hurt to do that, anyway.
-
The show was quicker than it's ever been, of course.
Ah the infamous quickening!
-
Does BK hate page 17? Or only page 7? Could we find out?
Well, we'd have to make it to Post #480 to find out. ::)
;)
-
Not to be confused with Highlander 2: The Quickening.
Not to be confused with Highlander 2: The Quickening.
Never!
-
Only 10 more posts...but will BK let us??
-
Will he stand in the way?
-
I found my Star Trek Communicator that actually pairs with my smart phone, and is essentially a Bluetooth speakerphone.
-
Insipid post #470-something.
-
I found my Star Trek Communicator that actually pairs with my smart phone, and is essentially a Bluetooth speakerphone.
Want!
-
I got it several years ago on sale (a good sale!), and have gotten a new phone since then.
-
Had dear George gotten here five minutes prior to midnight, sure, we would have made it.
It's pretty cool!
-
Not a big Trekkie, but that sounds cool.
-
Coolness confirmed!
-
It's not too late!
-
But nooooo - nor have we seen any Preview Harvey review - I wonder if he even remembers anything about what he read.
-
Mighty page seventeen. Pretty damn impressive.
