Well, you've read the notes, the notes were completely boring but contained no illegal fireworks, no association, and only a few morons, and now it is time for you to post until the moron cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SPORADES!
-
I was just about to reply to BK's post, but the day got locked. Fortunately, I saved the post before I tried to post it:

I hope she doesn't mind, but here's Shelly, all dolled up:

Does Shelly's picture show twice? I'm on my phone and only the link showed up under my post instead of the uploaded image, so I hyperlinked it into my post. I'll check it when I get up to my desktop computer.
-
I'm now on my Windows 10 computer, and I only see the linked picture and then the link under the picture. Very strange. Anyway, it works, so it's all good.

~~~Vibes for a Modern Major Miracle and Zero Irritants for BK!!~~~
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Sorry to be E&T yesterday,
-
First, there was a family birthday party to attend, with 4 attendees under the age of 5. We brought a gift bag with bottles of bubbles and sidewalk chalk. The kids were also kept occupied with July 4th themed window gel displays that you arrange on the insides of the windows to be viewed from the outside.
-
When I was a kid, the forerunner of this were these stencils that you used to tape to your windows, and then painted in with this pink goo that left a design when you removed the stencil.
-
Then on to the second event, at which the traditional burgers, brats, and dogs were served along with the traditional salad accompaniments.
-
It was a full day of eating.
-
Last night, the neighborhood amateur fireworks were not too invasive.
-
~~~CONTINUED MODERN MAJOR MIRACLE VIBES~~~ for the likes of BK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
:)
-
Notes perused. Pursued.
-
Nary a firework here. Some off in the distance.
-
Dreamt I was directing a show for the first time in ages. Had a scene where an actor was to receive a smattering of applause from his castmates. Needed some offstage actors to applaud to facilitate this. Was debating how many people made for a perfect “smattering.” The answer I came up with was 6.
-
A dream no doubt triggered by the fact that, thanks to DR Iris, I am supposed to meet up with a couple I call the Lunts of Lexington Ave, as I first saw them in a production of Drood near my sister’s upper east side apartment in the year 1996. I would later dabble in acting with this troupe, the St. Jean’s Players, and work my way up to directing one-acts, then entire musicals. I directed either of this couple in Salad Days and our OOBR-award winning Where’s Charley?
I don’t know if the OOBRs still exist, but it was quite the little feather in the cap of this group who performed on the stage of a gym of an ancient Catholic girls school.

Roger Elbert’s tv persona was one thing, but his profile writing was some of the best film writing. My dad had his book “A Kiss is Still A Kiss,” a compendium of profiles from the ‘60s to the ‘80s, and I’ve read it dozens of times. Ebert comes across as a completely different person.
-
Oh well, I need to get back to sleep. Later, sk8erz.

TOD: ASK BK...
Did you ever finish Jeanne Dielman?
-
Good morning, all.
-
Must get to work early today.
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR George, I do not see any photo of Shelly.
-
I slept rather well, given the fact that it was so warm in the apartment, even with the AC, that all I wanted to do was sleep all day.
-
That pas de deux, No. 30, is working my last nerve. I thought I had a handle on it, but I'm not sure. The dancing Fred and Ginger did is so far removed from classical ballet.
-
So, after kitty cleanup I will begin a new version of No. 30.
-
But first I must search for a CD set.
-
Our entire neighborhood seems to be made up of firework aficionados
-
Vixdad and I spent a half hour or so standing out on our front lawn, watching as Disney like fireworks lit the air in all directions.
-
We had enough after about 30 minutes and went back inside.
-
We were both tired from a full day of doing nothing and when we went to bed the fireworks were still going
-
The new air conditioner drowned out most of the noise and the blackout curtains kept out the lights so we fell asleep very quickly
-
I must get me to work today
-
Jane, Asteroid City is a Wes Anderson movie. Much like his other movies it is played in that flat, unrealistic acting style with absurd things going on in the background that no one mentions but that we found extremely funny.
-
Oh and the cost of two senior tickets with fees and taxes was 31.76 ( we bought online through Fandango)
-
George, that is a lovely picture of Shelly

MAJOR MIRACLE VIBES FOR MR BK.
-
My question for ASK BK DAY:
When did you first see snow? What was your opinion of it?
-
I hope the one actor who has a large part - so to speak - learns his damned lines so the rest of us aren't left standing around.
Starting Thursday - we no longer wait.

I have to write the story for the newspaper.

Maybe it's Betty Garrett's hair that annoys me.
-
No - it's her.
-
I have to write the story for the newspaper.
THE STORY OF THE ACTOR WHO DID NOT LEARN HIS LINES.
-
THE STORY OF THE BOARD MEMBER WHO KNOWS BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE.

THE STORY OF THE "HELPER" WHO ONLY GETS IN THE WAY.
-
THE JOYS OF NON-PROFIT COMMUNITY THEATER.

I watched a fireworks show LIVE from Jacksonville FL last night courtesy of a friend who was live on his cell phone last night. It was spectacular.
Locally, I heard a "few" fireworks around 9 p.m. After 10, there were none.
Maybe in other places around this county, but none near enough to alert me to their presence.
The SyFy Channel was airing episodes of "The Twilight Zone" that were filmed a few years ago.
I guess the intent to revive the series was there, but they were cramming 20-minute ideas into one-hour shows.
Boring.

DR Rodzinski: Interesting thoughts expressed about Roger Ebert.
I met Gene Siskel back in the early 1980s when he visited the Defense Information School in Indianapolis to be a guest speaker.
Siskel, when he was in the Army, was a journalist who trained at the Defense Information School in the late 1960s. As a film critic at a major newspaper, he was an excellent example for our students on where their training could lead.
He told us that when he got his first job with the Chicago Tribune, he was assigned a neighborhood beat. That means, for those who don't know, that he covered events within a specific area of Chicago.
He said he was called into his editor's office one day and was asked to fill in for the film critic who had left the Tribune. He said he knew nothing about film criticism, had no training in any aspect of film, and was just a filmgoer like most people. He didn't understand why they picked him, but he went it into thinking it was temporary and he just did his best.
He never did anything else at the Tribune, much to his surprise and delight. The PBS show was basically a cross-town rivlary idea that exploded nationally.
-
THE STORY OF THE BOARD MEMBER WHO KNOWS BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE.
The story of the executive staffer who goes against the grain.
-
I slept in again.
Am having my coffee. "Morning Joe" was Joe-less and Mika-less this morning. Willie Geist had the con.
I like Willie Geist.
MSNBC is filled with stories about widespread gun violence over the weekend.
I think the NRA must be having a wonderful week because of it.

I'm up, I'm up - I guess. I haven't actually slept at all - too much ABS (Active Brain Syndrome) going on - head filled with things, some to do with writing, some to do with other things. Guess I'll try for some sleep later at some point.

TOD: ASK BK...
Did you ever finish Jeanne Dielman?
I did not. Could take no more of it. Did you ever finish Preview Harvey? :)
-
My question for ASK BK DAY:
When did you first see snow? What was your opinion of it?
I saw a little hailstorm here in LA in mid-1960s, but actual snow would have been in January of 1969, soon after I moved to NYC. I liked the snow.

-
I've been up - all morning - but just enjoying a peaceful start to the day ketchuping on things.
-
Siskel, Ebert, and Joel Siegal all died young :(
-
Ebert is definitely of interest, and I want to watch that documentary. I know the latter parts will be hard to take, as I'd followed some his misfortune as it was happening back then. A sad and ghastly finale to what was probably an incredibly fulfilling life and career.
I used to watch the Siskel & Ebert thing now and then. Not religiously, but I always would sit through it whenever it was on. I learned in later years that a lot of people highly respected his commentaries on a few DVDs -- and while I forget at the moment what they all are, I did make a point of acquiring them. The one I always remember is on the wonderfully weird cult film DARK CITY, and oddly enough, I watched that for only my second time recently. I'm going to take it back out and listen to his commentary. I'm assuming (and we all know what that means) that another is on BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS which he had a hand in writing. Have to look up the others.

Finally, a connection to post.

Went to Gelson's and got food for today.

Otherwise, I've been uploading to the Tube of You. I decided to put Tonight's the Night up for those who missed it and didn't get the Blu-ray - also, Revenge, the other streaming thing we did. That one's uploading now. Both are taking a long time, as they're HD. Then I'm going to put both seasons of Outside the Box up as that hasn't been available online in almost a decade.
So, for those who may have missed it, here's Tonight's the Night: https://youtu.be/b6jPmb_-1N0

If you haven't "liked" the channel, please do so. And like the video, too.

I'll post the Revenge link as soon as it's live.

HA! All of those subjects would have been just as exciting as the one I just submitted to the local bladder.
When I get some production photos, I shall post it to the website & Facebook pages.
-
DR RON PULLIAM a very interesting Siskel story.
-
BK: I was on the Kritzerland site looking something else up, and before I left I clicked on the TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT Blu-ray thumbnail -- and was taken to the page for Oscar Hammerstein Revisited.
Clicking on the link beneath the thumbnail goes to the right place, but I tried the thumbnail again just to be sure, and got Oscar again. :)

It is a HOT dress rehearsal tonight.....tomorrow night is production photo night & Jared from the Banner - which he is carrying - will be in to take a few posed shots.
-
I have three new bits to add tonight.....we shall see how they go over.

I notice that the truck in DR singdaw's picture has a Mansfield bar that is there to protect folks who may run into the back of the truck....but I don't think it will help the folks in THAT car from what is about to happen.

Elmore, channel the Gershwin music that Robbins choreographed.

I washed Siskel & Ebert at the Movies on PBS. It was a great way to find out about movies, especially documentaries, that I might have missed. Ones I remember were Say Amen, Somebody and Hoop Dreams.
I own both.

What inspires you to get up each morning?
Usually, my bladder.

-
We have arrived
-
Gone to the market
-
Freshened up
-
And are now walking over for Keith’s treatment
-
Done and back to our hotel room.
-
Went back to bed around ten-thirty and slept until one-thirty. Little by little.
-
Revenge is uploaded, as is season one of Outside the Box - season two is uploading now.
-
Just made rigatoni with sweet Eyetalian sausage and red sauce. Really good.
-
Well, I think the fourth time is the charmer. I began again after i fed the cats, and I'm rather happy with it now.
-
Almost finished uploading season two. Some go quickly, some go slowly.
-
I'm very full.
-
VERY full.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I foolishly assumed that the fireworks were coming from a professional source and would be over by midnight. How could I be so naive? They didn’t end until 1:30. Ugh! And they were LOUD.
-
Some nitwit was setting off stuff within blocks of here, maybe even ON this block - at four in the morning.
-
As if that wasn’t noisy enough around midnight I heard a beeping noise. Beep..beep..beep..pause..beep..beep..beep. I still have no idea what it was, but it wasn’t coming from inside my apartment. I pulled out the white noise machine, but it didn’ drown out the beep. Arrrggghhhh! I finally managed maybe five hours of sleep. I woke to the construction noise from practically next door where a new apartment building is going in.
-
Given how ROTTEN I felt this morning I was afraid today would be a wasted day. But no, thankfully. I’ve busy with this and that — and you know how long THAT takes. But I’m completely wiped out now.
-
A peaceful night vibes for DR Jeanne.
-
Thanks, John G. And hi!
-
Jane, I’m sure you and Keith are glad this is your last trip to Bend. What an ordeal! But it sounds like you made the best of things by finding good restaurants. Aside from the inconvenience are the treatments tolerable? It sounds like they are at least quick.
Vibes for a smooth last visit and continued healing vibes to Keith.
-
That’s it from me.
TTFN.

With each treatments the areas get more red, plus they itch. He feels like sores might be forming which will not be pleasant..
-
After the treatments are done we will return in 6 weeks for follow-up visit with the dermatologist and the technician.
-
If this dermatologist was close to us we would switch to him.
-
I'm rather happy with it now.
This is great news, DR elmore3003!

Some go quickly, some go slowly.
It's almost like the Grand Hotel.

~~~BETTER SLEEP TONIGHT VIBES~~~ for DR Jeanne
-
The lion wouldn't sleep tonight with that infernal beeping.
-
Vibes for a smooth last visit and continued healing vibes to Keith.
Thank you.
-
I should not have had Ben and Jerry's ice cream after dinner.
-
It was too much.
-
I have half of it in the freezer for another day.
-
It was the caramel with the caramel filled chocolate pieces.
-
I'm glad that you have a freezer in your room DR Jane.
-
It partly makes up for the fact that Keith can't pop corn.
-
More vibes for Keith.
-
Tonight, it’s the original Road House with Ida Lupino and Richard Widmark in top form, stolid Cornel Wilde and perky Celeste Holm.
-
Love this movie.
-
The original road house: ye olde road house.
-
Air quality here has improved to "good" today.
-
I'm glad that you have a freezer in your room DR Jane.
It is a nice frig and freezer.
-
We also have a large microwave.
-
We haven't used the stove.
-
There isn't a regular oven, no that we need one.
-
It partly makes up for the fact that Keith can't pop corn.
He has two packages of microwave popcorn left.
-
They are not for me ;D
-
More vibes for Keith.
Thank you.
-
We went to Greg's Grill in the Old Mill area.
-
It is the restaurant we have been eating at the most.
-
The bar is excellent.
-
Keith had his usual, a rye Manhattan.
-
I tried the Old Fashioned. It was very good, not great but good, and was served with a proper large ice cube.
-
Their sweet potato fries are the best we have ever had.
-
I'm glad that his treatments don't prevent having a drink. :)
-
That would be a dire state of affairs.
-
Page seven dance 👯♂️
I think they are dancing ;D
-
Or so I am told.
~~~LINES INTO THE CRANUIM VIBES~~~ for DR Jrand72!!!!!!!
-
Ida has just sung One for My Baby. And played the piano too. Dynamite.
“She does more without a voice than anyone I ever heard,” Celeste says when she’s done.
-
If there is a fight at the road house, is that a round house punch in the road house?
-
If you see someone without a voice, give them one of yours.
-
Or at least a clew.
-
Air quality here has improved to "good" today.
We’re going to start having African dust in the air here.
-
Crab rangoon?
-
If there is a fight at the road house, is that a round house punch in the road house?
Richard Widmark goes crazy. Go figure.
-
Don't mind if I do.
-
We’re going to start having African dust in the air here.
That doesn't sound good.
-
If they're fighting over round house steak, it's a double round house.
-
Round House squared.
-
And then they can put the steaks over their eyes to reduce the swelling.
-
Sex. They’re fighting over sex. What else?
-
It's a very thrifty procedure.
-
Sex. They’re fighting over sex. What else?
And they still are here in the good ole' USA.
-
Some things never change.
-
Goshdarnit.
-
We need more whirled peas.
-
Or bicarbonate of soda.
-
There's a joke in there somewhere.
-
We’re still on seven.
-
EIGHT, not too late!
-
Eight!
-
Who do we appreciate?
-
I wonder if Road House ever went out on a road house tour.
-
Frances de la Tour.
-
Tourette's.
-
The Grand Tour.
-
Detour
-
I am glad the fireworks brigade has crawled back into the woodwork for another year.
-
Why are donuts filled with Bavarian cream, but not, say, Slovakian cream?
-
These are the things I ponder.
-
And then there's crème anglaise.
-
And crema.
-
I had a Mexican street corn salad that was to die for yesterday.
-
Page nine is, as Carol King said, so far away.
-
But I'm losing steam.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Good night, sir.
-
As if that wasn’t noisy enough around midnight I heard a beeping noise.
Oh, my goodness! :o How terrible!
-
A peaceful night vibes for DR Jeanne.
~~~Ditto!!~~~
-
It was the caramel with the caramel filled chocolate pieces.
That sounds yummy!
-
Air quality here has improved to "good" today.
We’re going to start having African dust in the air here.
We are watching Gone With the Wind, at least the beginning.
Never again.
-
Widmark is getting ready to go full-on crazy.
-
And we’re almost to nine.
-
Just a couple more.
-
Push!
-
Nine!
-
Hi, Vixmom. Hi, George.
-
Hi, Jane.
-
We recall seeing a special showingof Gone With the Wind at the Carthay Circle Theater in 1967.
-
Hi, Jane.
Hi :)
-
We are watching Gone With the Wind, at least the beginning.
Never again.
;D
-
It was the caramel with the caramel filled chocolate pieces.
That sounds yummy!
I was too full to enjoy it properly.
-
Hi, Vixmom. Hi, George.
Hello, John.
-
I think they used to do the frig and freeze on Soul Train.
-
Quieter times vibes for DR JEANNE.
-
Glad to hear that DR JANE & KEITH are making the best of their travels.
-
Here comes the rain.....I made it home before.....
-
CHEF BK has been in the kitchen I hear.
-
Costumes tonight.....I had to have someone help me take my onesie off over my head......so I brought it home and it is now in the washer with my white shirt.
-
Snow in New York.....interesting.....
-
I wonder how many times MR BK has seen Gone With The Wind and what his assessment of it might be.
-
I like Ida Lupino in Road House and just about everything else.
She's especially good as a woman obsessed with George Raft in They Drive By Night.....talk about MELODRAMA!
-
My bladder does the same thing DR singdaw.
-
I think I shall ask the costume if I can wear a cravat instead of an ascot......although you can't make as many jokes about a cravat.
I went to the dressing room and slammed the door and got my ascot.
-
Hello
-
Glad to hear that DR JANE & KEITH are making the best of their travels.
Not sure about the best but doing OK.
-
Here comes the rain.....I made it home before.....
That's q relief.
-
Costumes tonight.....I had to have someone help me take my onesie off over my head......so I brought it home and it is now in the washer with my white shirt.
I think they are difficult to remove.
-
The fireworks continued tonight. I think in the street upfront even.
-
Starting a massively long film, Boccaccio’70. It’s 3.5 hours long.
But it’s an anthology film, so I will just watch the first.
-
The first director, Mario Monicelli, made Big Deal on Madonna Street. It’s a sweet story of a young couple and office politics. Titled Renzo e Luciana, it was cut from the American release.
-
I you win only once, is that "wonce"?
More likely it's a "wince".
-
We watched until the intermission.
-
I’ve started reading Preview Harvey
-
M enjoying it so far
DR RON PULLIAM thanks for the link - yes I remember the story now....even now I wonder if some of her editors didn't quite believe the story - why did they run it?
And what else had/have they let go? Of course now - journalism isn't held to a very high standard and truth be damned in some quarters.
They even nominated it for a Pulitzer!
More than that. The story WON the Pulitzer, and the Post had to give it back.
-
'night
-
My Preview Harvey is in the mail.
-
Met my old theatrical friends for lunch at the Top of Vancouver revolving restaurant. A tourist trap of sorts, but a great view and decent food. They treated, so lucky me. I had wondered if they’d like to reminisce about our old St Jean’s Players days, and I was in more luck, because that’s all we talked about, and it was great fun. Their daughter was along, who I last saw as a precocious kid, hanging out backstage, and now she’s a grownup, going to NYU. We also talked about DR Iris, our dear mutual friend without whom I wouldn’t have even known about their local visit. A fun afternoon!
-
Whaddya think about THAT, zero guests?
That's great, Rodzinski!
BK asleep?
-
I've seen Gone With the Wind five times, I think. I've never liked it, frankly.
-
What?
-
Did someone say something?
-
New notes are up.
-
I've seen Gone With the Wind five times, I think. I've never liked it, frankly.
Then why watch it five times? :o
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
I watched it five times because I thought that maybe I'd get with it at some point. I first saw it the one and only time we were in summer camp and we all got taken to a screening somewhere. Four hours was too much.
-
I saw the 70mm re-release. Terrible.
-
And then on DVD and Blu-ray.
-
I did like George Reeves in it.
-
And I like the music.
-
The movie I'd like to see again even though I know it's not good, is Raintree County.
-
And?
-
Speak UP.
-
Speak DOWN.
-
But speak.
-
Make yourself heard.
-
Stand up and cheer.
-
It's almost Page Eleven!
-
Shouldn't page eleven be lurking around here somewhere?
-
PAGE ELEVEN DANCE!!
-
See?
