Ebert is definitely of interest, and I want to watch that documentary. I know the latter parts will be hard to take, as I'd followed some his misfortune as it was happening back then. A sad and ghastly finale to what was probably an incredibly fulfilling life and career.
I used to watch the Siskel & Ebert thing now and then. Not religiously, but I always would sit through it whenever it was on. I learned in later years that a lot of people highly respected his commentaries on a few DVDs -- and while I forget at the moment what they all are, I did make a point of acquiring them. The one I always remember is on the wonderfully weird cult film DARK CITY, and oddly enough, I watched that for only my second time recently. I'm going to take it back out and listen to his commentary. I'm assuming (and we all know what that means) that another is on BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS which he had a hand in writing. Have to look up the others.
