Well, you've read the notes, the notes were not hefty but had some mitts, and now it is time for you to post until the hefty cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: STUPEFY!
-
That's pretty cool about your junior and high school friend, BK. And the great audience! AND the little miracle for an emergency situation!
-
Topic of the Day: dipping pizza in ranch dressing (or putting ranch dressing on pizza) is nothing new. I've done it for quite a long time (but not every time).
-
Eagan's, a local burger joint, has been around since the late 1940s and they invented a sauce called goop (this was LONG before Gwyneth Paltrow used the word for her website). It's kind of like tartar sauce with mustard, but that's not exactly it...but it's really good. Anyway, when I was in high school, they had goop along with the other condiments during lunches, and I used to put goop on the cafeteria pizza. It was very good...in my humble opinion (IMHO, in Internet speak). ;D
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept poorly. Last night the temperature fell to the high 202s, and since I turned ff the heat last week because it was to hot, three cats and I huddled together to keep warm. I guess it's time to winterize the bed.
-
I must finish "Very Soft Shoes" today.
-
DR Jeanne, there's nothing worse than being stuck with no hot water for several days. I'm so sorry.
-
My beloved Annalene Beechey, my leading lady for Dearest Enemy and Roberta, replaced Kelli O'Hara in London production of the Lincoln Center The King & I. She's played Anna on and off since 2018, and today the last England/Irish tour closes and she's hanging up the role.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Wreck the Halls had a great opening last night, but the audience was dead. I have no idea who these dead people were, but they sure weren’t listening to the lyrics or they would have been laughing their ASSES off. And there was no problem whatever with said lyrics coming across. Bunch of dullards. But the show was wonderful, and it was rather mind boggling to be out front seeing how it really looks and sounds. I’ll go back later in the run.
-
Notes preconceived. Disbelieved.
-
Good morn! I don’t really like ranch dressing to begin with, but I don’t begrudge dippers. In NYC I tended to ask for an extra cup of tomato sauce with a slice. Otherwise I just didn’t eat the boring doughy crusts.
-
Dead opening-night Friday audiences are the worst.
-
TOD
I’ve never heard of it except right here, and it’s not something I have the slightest interest in trying.
And I like ranch dressing. Just keep it away from my pizza.

Dead opening-night Friday audiences are the worst.
And you’re always in danger of getting one on this particular long holiday weekend. Unless it just happens to be populated with theeder-savvy people.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Bad night of sleep. Dreamt of being forced to write a recipe for a weird deconstructed cheese danish that wasn’t working, and I loathe cheese danish. So it was not fun.
-
TOD
I like ranch. On salad.

Yes. That’s where it belongs.

I've only seen it in TV pizza commercials. All I can think is, why ruin good pizza like that?
-
Good morning!

Wordle: 4/6

I admit to dipping pizza in ranch a few times but haven't thought of doing it recently.

Ouch! Them doggies!

Good Morning! I slept weirdly with two very odd dreams. It was one of those mornings when you wake up and really have to figure out what day it is and what you have planned for the day. I may start with a little coffee and some eggs and maybe that will help. So, other than laundry and a trip to the store for a few things - oh and some time with "The General" that should be my day. Maybe something exciting will come up!
-
Back from dance practice.
-
Time to get a few more outdoor decorations up.
-
DR Jeanne you can do laundry in cold water. I suggest leaving your hair until you have hot water, or go to a wash and blow dry place if you are desparate and they are open.
-
DR Vixmom, I'm sorry about your back. Back pain was bad enough, with my shoulder I basically have given up cooking.
-
Two!
-
Good….. afternoon
-
I actually woke reasonably early this morning , by 930 am
-
But I spent most of the morning on various phone calls
-
Vixdad was in and out doing errands and I finally got my shower in around noon.
-
We Just had our first meals of the day

Thanksgiving sandwiches !

His on whole wheat, mine on brioche

Cold gravy as dressing, slices of Turkey great, whole berry cranberry sauce and cold stuffing

Vibes for good back vibes for DR Vixmom

When we moved to Michigan we were thrilled to finally have multiple Jewish Deli's to eat at. Often we went on Sunday mornings, unless there was soccer for the kids, and had one deli we frequented more than the other deli's. We had one waitress that we liked. When she saw us sit down she would walk over with Keith's coffee and a plate of celery and carrots with their homemade ranch dressing.
-
There were a few times we probably wouldn't have ordered the veggie & dressing plate but we never complained and simply enjoyed it. Service like that is special.

"Very Soft Shoes" is finished! Time to feed the babies.

DR George, reading of your efforts to speak to a live person I know I would have been screaming.
I certainly can understand a huge business wanting to save money, but deliberately making it difficult to access good customer service is not the way to do it. :-\
My pharmacy used to have the option to press a number to request to speak to someone. Now it is verbal. Even though it includes the option to speak to someone my request rarely goes straight through. More questions are asked, and it usually does not seem to understand what I have said. By the time I am done I am usually screaming ;D

Danny Kaye and the Swedish Chef.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I sympathize, George. Phone trees are sooo irritating! Customers, who had an issue to begin with, are understandably angry. It isn’t fair to the customers or to the customer service people who now have an angry customer to deal with. I feel it hurts business and the company’s reputation. I’ve often thought that people would be less stresses without phone trees.
I’m glad the problem was finally solved.
-

I do it all the time to reduce the amount of bread I eat.
Avoid this croissant cat, then.
Beautifully done.
-
Thank you Sing, Elmore, and Jane for the commiseration over my loss of hot water. I think of the Ukrainians and all they’ve had to deal with for the last two years. The (former) residents of Gaza and the hell they’re going through. Of those for whom hot water was never a given. And I think of my days in a little pensione in Italy that had no hot water. The showers weren’t easy, but washing my hair in an icy shower was murder.
I’ll cope.
-
Watching The Shop Around the Corner. It was slightly irritating in the beginning, but I have warmed to its many charms.
Since we don't have plans to watch this again in the near future, I decided to watch the trailer:)

I did a load of laundry this morning. I’d planned to wash the towels, but want hot water for them. They’ll wait. I washed clothes instead, which I usually wash in cold water anyway.
-
You may have a cat.
Or plants.
But not both. :)
We have had both but it can definately be a challenge. Now we have neither.
-
;)
-
For the two years Craig was in the Peace Corp he did not have hot water.
-
As for my hair, I can heat up some water on the stove, then wash my hair over the kitchen sink. Or I can wait until Monday evening, when we’ll hopefully have hot water again. As it happens, I have a hair appointment scheduled for Wednesday.
-
No hot water in Italy sounds even more surprising than Craig not having it in Romania.
-
The next time I needed to wash my hair I sought out a local hair salon. The hairdresser didn’t speak much English and I spoke even less Italian, but we communicated well enough.
-
That said, I’ve often wished I could find a decent dry shampoo. I’ve tried a couple. The last one made my hair feel worse. I even mentioned it to my hairdresser, who’s been in the business a loonnng time, hoping he’d devise one. No such luck.
-
Jrand, how did you spend Thanksgiving, since you’re not a celebratory sort of person?
-

-
There wasn't any hot water in the hospital where Craig was born. I refused to shower. Finally they found me a shower down the hall from my room that had hot water.
-
Must resume my cleaning. 🧹
TTFN.
-
I should as well. I just put my last load of laundry for the day into the dryer.
-

No hot water at the hospital? Not good! Where was this?
-
I have a couple of dry shampoos I occasionally use. They just soften my hair more than making it feel clean.
-
In the hospital after my shoulder surgery they gave me a rinse free shampoo cap to clean my hair. I would rather have used a dry shampoo.
-
DR JEANNE I watched tv and read a bit and listened to some music.
Still doing research on the play I plan to start in the next couple of days.

DR ELMORE that photo is great! Thanks for sharing.

It's going to start tomorrow and continue each day until all the connections are made...however long that takes.

I ended up staying for the show, just to watch the two things I adjusted prior to the show - the two times where there were stage waits while the stage was set, which I hate. These are all things I would have done had we not been so behind every step of the way, so I just keep adjusting and fixing as we play the show. Those two moments now play seamlessly. Another wonderful audience - the old folks really love the show. Do We is finally working as it should - first time. I know the two actors really felt it come alive. Hefty mitts at the end. I knew a couple of folks there. The only real issue is the endless fumfering, which drives me batty. It really adds five or six minutes to the show, sometimes even more.

Tomorrow, i go into colonoscopy mode with a timetable/schedule of things I must do before Monday morning's procedure.
I made it through Thanksgiving and a funeral...I should be able to handle prep for the colonoscopy which requires nothing of me but to be out cold on a table.

One of the subjects is an actor who talked about trying out for commercials. Casting agents wouldn’t see people unless they had 25,000 social media followers. Very strange.
Oh, my! :o Is That what it's all about (Alfie) anymore??

I had to restart my computer to update the visual protection software.

Good news about the adjustments working, BK!
