Well, you've read the notes, you've taken the Oscar bait, and now it is time for you to post until the snubbed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MAGNIFICENT!
-
Notes nominated. Awarded.
-
Are you there, God? It’s muse Margaret.
-
In Carlsbad for the night after a snappy day at Legoland. It makes all the difference to be at a fun park that is not crowded. We walked right on to every ride the kids (or I) wanted to. A well-run place. Pleasant employees. The kids had a blast. I won my daughter a giant panda by accident, so we’ll see how that fits in the luggage tomorrow.
-
We arrived Monday at the San Diego airport just after the downpour had subsided. Today was sunny and like 62 degrees.
-
That's great, Rod! And congrats on the panda win! Would it be possible (and if you had the time) to mail it home?
-
Return to the rains of Ranchipoor back home tomorrow.
-
Thanks G! Mailing it is an idea I wish I’d thought of this afternoon. We leave too early tomorrow.
-
He’s not like 5 feet tall, just like 2 feet. And soft. Might be able to scrunch him in a bag.

Totally thought I’d never win one of those rigged games but my ball-throwing skills are just too damn good.

Amazing!

So, Poe Nocturne ended this past weekend and pug (the director) gave everyone an original abstract illustration that she made. Here's mine! :D
-
Nice work, pug!
-
When she directed a show at Tacoma Little Theatre in 2022, she had a lot of her work for sale in their lobby. I bought this piece called, "All Dragons Love Sondheim"...mainly because of the name:
(http://www.haineshisway.com/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=6937.0;attach=15026)
-
But before the end of intermission, she actually gave me a second painting, and here it is! :D

The best fried chicken I ever had, and I have said this consistently for years, was made by Skip Kennon for an HHW gathering many moons ago.

Ooh, I like the 2nd gift even more!
-
Ooh, I like the 2nd gift even more!
That was is titled, "Some days are Monochrome and Some are Peter Max."
-
I did not visit BK’s ex wife in Carlsbad, but we had a great meal there downtown on Monday night at a place called Campfire.
-
Why?? I don't know (this is in reference to the name of the second pug painting I posted, not Rod's comment).
;D
-
Ooh, I like the 2nd gift even more!
That was is titled, "Some days are Monochrome and Some are Peter Max."
Lol. pug’s got the titles down!
-
What's funny is that she signed the Sondheim painting as "p. Bujeaud," and the Peter Max painting as "C. Bujeaud" (her real name is Charlene). I asked her about that and I don't think she had a reason.
-
She just calls em like she sees em!

There was a Lego replica of the Coronado Hotel in mini-Lego World at Legoland.

In December 2021 (I only know because of the cancelled stamp), pug sent out hand painted Christmas cards, and this was mine:
-
But the very first one I ever got from her was also a closing night thank you gift for being in a show (but I forget which one ::) ):
-
As you can tell, most (but not all) of her work is quite abstract, but I really like them. :)

Do you have to work today?

If so, condolences.

I have not been able to sleep well since the pandemic. Don't know if those events are related or not.

I used to be able to fall asleep almost instantly.

I slept excruciatingly well!
I also dreamed.
One dream yielded a name or title or nonsense phrase: Fluvy Mas.
I do not know, other than it was on a tombstone. And before you ask, I was engaged in a genealogical discussion with a 5th cousin on the phone last night and we were talking about where some of our ancestors are buried.
Fluvy Mas is a name that never came up, so it's either something from beyond attempting to enlighten me, or it's just a bit of dream nonsense.
-
It might be an interesting character name in a book, however.
-
On a whim, I looked up Fluvy Mas and found this in the Urban Dictionary as a definition of "fluvy":
1. An oblivious person that believes he/she is favored by all , but fails to realize that everyone is sick of his/her presence.
2. Fails to realize that no one likes them.
Does that definition remind anyone of any individual? Add the Spanish word mas. meaning more or most, and it seems "Fluvy Mas" is a very obnoxious, unenlightened, self-asborbed individual who thinks the world loves him.
I can only blame myself for tuning in to MSNBC to see how the New Hampshire primary went.

I have decided that tomorrow instead of today will be grocery day....so I will just see what happens today.
Perhaps I shall write some more today.

I slept excruciatingly well!
I also dreamed.
Sleeping excruciatingly well sounds terrific!
-
I just took care of an errand I've been postponing since sunday; I had to get 60 lbs of litter from the first floor to the third. Fortunately, one of the young men who work for our building maintenance came in as I was struggling with a walker holding a bag with one 30 lb carton and trying to drag the other carton tothe elevator across the floor. He carried the loose carton up to my aartment for me while I wrestled with the walker and the bag. I'm really grateful for his assistance.
-
Now I need to lie down and rest my aching legs.
-
I slept excruciatingly well!
I also dreamed.
Sleeping excruciatingly well sounds terrific!
It's been one of the joys of my life, thus far, in 2024.
-
I think I shall let Fluvy Mas become my go to name for that man.
-
I have to get over this bad hump of unemployment, lousy health, no income, a pile of debt, and my taxes because I believe there are good possibilities happening sometime after March. Getting there is stressing me out and working my last nerve because I don't see any relief on the horizon.

I'm up, I'm up - five hours of sleep.

I watched and very much enjoyed the 2nd episode of "True Detective: Night Country".
Weird things are happening, but they manage to pull it off rather well.
I agree.

Thanks.

Thank you George. Last night I asked management if the fire system was fixed since we didn't hear an alarm. Instead of writing to everyone in the building, she resonded to me that they found another leak and it has not been fixed ::)
-
Because our fire system is still turned off, the law requires people do checks to make sure that there isn't smoke comining out of our building. I feel a bit bad that we have not volunteered to do a shift.

Just eating donuts and napping.
The vision in that eye is starting to clear, but they really dilate the eye, so between that and the rest of what it's been through, you don't generally get a shot of your new clear vision till the next morning. But I can begin to see the signs of that upcoming clarity.
I also think it might be time for another donut.

I've been watching the 1980s BBC Miss Marple series with Joan Hickson. I've seen three now: A Murder is Announced, The Moving Finger, and The Body in the Library.
In The Body in the Library actor Frederick Jaeger played Colonel Machete; he is on the original cast recording of Lock Up Your Daughters. Actor John Castle, who plays DCI Craddock in A Murder is Announced, appeared on Broadway in the flop musical Georgy in the part Alan Bates played in Georgy Girl. I kept hoping they would sing.

I had already decided that if I get Covid I will pass on Paxlovid. Now I will also pass on the alternative.

Had a nice breakfast at the Coral Cafe, went to Gelson's briefly and am home now and just got the Muse Margaret call. She was laughing when she called and said her favorite things were the final two chapters. Anyway, she loved everything except what I knew she'd want gone and which I'd already marked for those cuts - and her cuts were exactly the same as mine and I'd already bracketed all that and so it was really simple to delete.
That's great.

Leonard is a good boy.
The Leonard Alarm went off this afternoon. I heard a growl, and two people with clipboards were walking up the driveway.
;D
-
Leonard is a good boy.
He is a very good boy.

The director was stuck at a train crossing for more than 45 minutes, so the rest of us practiced just the piece we’re playing Sunday. That’s all we needed.
Trains often stop and sit at crossings here. We were told a story of someone riding his bike when he got trapped. Tired he decided to take a nap. A police car pulled up to check on him ;D
-
Onward.
-
Eight!
-
Leonard is a good boy.
:)
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Thanks to Jrand and the Dream-o-magic. I now have an entirely different perspective on the humble chimney sweep. ☺️
-
Hugs to Vixmom and Elmore.
-
We spent the day in Portland with Bryan and his family :) :) :)
We will return tomorrow, and then they are going to Mt Hood to ski with friends for a couple of days.
-
Hi, Jeanne!
-
I have not watched any of the Oscar nominees and, frankly, don’t have a lot of enthusiasm to do so. Movies just aren’t as much fun as they used to be.
-
We met up with them in Powell's where Freyja was having a wonderful time purchasing books and stuffed toys while her parents appreciated the no sales tax.
-
Hi, John G.
That German chocolate pie looks quite enticing. Did I not mention that I’m trying to eat less chocolate?
;D ;D ;)
-
Congrats to bk on finishing the new book.
-
Vibes to all
TTFN.

Is that a good thing for you?

Past Lives last night was about a couple getting together after 24 years. Shoulder Dace, the next feature tonight, is about a couple getting together after 24 years. The difference is that this is a gay couple.
-

That sounds wonderful, DR Jane!
-
CONGRATULATIONS to BK on the great reception of the book by Muse Margaret.
-
~~~SPEEDY RECUPERATION VIBES~~~ for DR ChasSmith!!!!!
-
My mother also seems to be recuperating nicely at home. I keep telling her: day by day!
-
Today was a nasty day at work. Half our team is still out. Our hold time got over an hour. It doesn't make for pleasant callers once they finally get us.
-
And, really, I don't blame them.
It was. Bryan & Kate miss Powell's. We then went to the lovely Chinese Gardens. After eating we went to a Japanese toy store and played there.
-
While relieved they weren't here last week, I still wish our weather was better.
-
Wonderful. It is hard to be patient.
We all know waiting a long time can make us a bit grumpy once we finally reach a live person. At least you speak English ;)
-
Oh, dear! How did I miss DR Chaz?!
Eye recovery vibes!!
I’ve long felt that phone trees are unfair to the reps. Long waits are, too.
-
At least you speak English ;)
Sometimes, I wonder. :)
-
;D
Keith is popping corn. I told him I wasn't having any tonight.
Good evening thank you for the hugs and vibes
-
Wow...45 minutes?? :o Fortunately, I've never heard of that happening around here.
Where's the fun in that?
Fading fast.
-
Half way to ten.
-
TEN-derly...
-
We are closer to Friday than we were on Monday.
-
On balance.
-
I'm up, I'm up - oh wait...
-
I started watching Dr. Strangelove - fell asleep for the entirety of the movie.
-
I think I'm hanging up my spurs for the night.
-
But ten is in sight.
-
Fight or flight.
-
Turn on the light.
-
Don't fight.
-
Be polite.
-
Queen takes Knight.
-
'Tis our delight.
-
Yes, quite.
-
PAGE TEN!
-
Good night, friends.
-
Starting Bertolucci’s The Conformist. I started watching this a couple of years ago, but it was too stylized or something because I turned it off. Will try to finish it this time.
-
Another thunderstorm tonight. Third load of laundry in the dryer.
-
I’m getting tired. It’s been a long day.
-
Ok guess I better sleep
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
Has anyone noticed who's not here?
-
I certainly have.
-
I really have.
-
I'm here. ::)
-
Tonight, I had a Zoom production meeting for Incorruptible that'll be at Lakewood Playhouse.
-
And then I just played games on my phone.
-
And then, I had to restart my phone. :P
