I know I've missed something along the way, but this is the second reference in as many days to you F-&-F-ing.
Does that stand for "fold and fluff"? Or vice-versa?
Then Lindsey Mendez sings Like It Was and I was in tears. It’s possibly my favorite Sondheim song and she nails it.
Do first labors habitually go more quickly or slowly? I have no idea. Perhaps there is no pattern.

Feb 1 would make a good birthday, I think.
Certainly better than February 29th. ::)
My grandpa gave me a Reader’s Digest radio he got as a premium once. Picked up police band, shortwave, CB, airplanes… Loved that thing.
It was 117 degrees that day, June 21, 1985.
The longest day of the year.
And of my life! 😊
Watching a short on the making of Hitchcock’s Lifeboat. Apparently star Tallulah Bankhead didn’t like wearing underwear, which was causing problems for the assistant director. He went to Hitchcock and asked him to deal with it. Hitchcock, according to his daughter, said no, because he couldn’t tell if that fell under the purview of wardrobe or hairstyling.

Things are progressing sloooooooowly
We did get rain. My rain gauge fell to the ground, which sometimes happens when there's lots of wind. But the ground is very wet.
Happy Birthday Iris!

Is that typical that you graduated high school in February?

Big city, baby boom thing. In Detroit if your birthday was after December 1 you started kindergarten at the end of January after you turned 5 and graduated 13 years later. I started K in January of 1956 and should have graduated in January 1969. But I took the second half of 8th grade in summer school to get on a typical academic track. It’s why Richard’s brother and I are 5 days apart in age but graduated from high school a year apart. No half year stuff in Middletown.

DR FREDDIE I am taking it to the director/producer of the Indy theatre I used to work for this coming Sunday......so I shall see what transpires after that.
I have to say that the world may not be READY for this particular play and point of view at this time.

Iris, seeing our mutual friends last summer was a highlight of my 2023.They feel the same way.
No important envelope, so I guess someone IS trying to tell me something and I guess maybe I should listen.

Hot Spot is a musical with the book by Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert, lyrics by Martin Charnin, music by Mary Rodgers, and additional lyrics and music by Stephen Sondheim. It had a brief run on Broadway in 1963. The musical is a political satire.
Best wishes, DR Iris!Thank you, Ron! That’s so cute!
The first time I heard “Meadowlark”, it was sung by Lindsay in the high school auditorium.
I had tears rolling down my face.
She is an exceptionally lovely person.
I never had any doubt that she would be a successful Broadway and television actress.

I swear, I never heard of this system until today. But I wasn't living in the bigger cities in those years, either.

Thanks, Larry. I have that book, just haven’t read it yet.
I wonder if those two songs are available to hear anywhere.

It was in its simplicity. I can still picture. As it was winter and we were wearing regular clothes we hadn't gone far onto the sand. Sitting and talking when Keith looked at me with love in his eyes and asked me to marry him. I said "of course". To me it was sweet and perfect. I don't understand these elaborate proposals. that are popular today.
So beautiful.
Were you on the beach in Santa Monica?
That’s how I envision it.

Yes. I have a bootleg recording. Not top drawer.
Have found a few of the songs online….decided I didn’t miss anything.
The first half of kindergarten I went to a one room school house. I loved it and was sorry my parents put me in public school. I wish they had waited until first grade. I wasn't unhappy, I just think I was getting a better education. That one room schoolhouse sounds wonderful!

Our cut off date was also December 1st but we never had an option to do a full semester in summer school, not that I would have done it.

Ushering tonight for a Beatles tribute band called The Fab Four. They’re doing Rubber Soul plus more.

I think once or twice during my elementary years they wanted to “double promote” me - skip the second half of the grade - but my parents didn’t want to do that. All I had to take in summer school was English, social studies, and math. It was kind of a joke.

DR RODZINSKI I saw a movie called BOTTOMS once, but I don't think it's the same one you saw.
I believe the Faith Prince is my album Hey Love, the Mary Rodgers revue that also has Don't Laugh on it.
Great recording if “The Boy From….”, sung by Faith Prince. 😄

John, this is a wonderful video of the cast in the recording studio.
I am told that Jonathan Groff is outstanding as Frank.

I get a apecial injection every six months which is done at the infusion center. Today I had one and left without making an appointment for the next visit as they don't book that far in advance anymore.
I opened an after visit summery email I received and was shocked to find my next visit was sheduled. You think they would have told me, given me an appointment card, something :o
I almost didn't open the link in the email that opened the new appointment. There really wasn't any need for me to read the after summary.
They made the time for later than I want the appointment. Now I have to deal with getting it changed.

I don’t doubt it. I just think Frank is a cipher. . Furth doesn’t provide any more clues than Sondheim. Can he really be a good producer? Did his dreams change? Are Mary and Charley pigeonholing him? Or should he only focus on composing? There are no answers, which is actually more interesting because of the ambiguity.

That sounds like a scary way of scheduling. What if you hadn't logged in?
The sperson who schedules appointments wasn't available. I am now waiting for a return call. I might have to try again next week.

Since the name Kovid intreigued me I looked it up. His full name is Kovid Kapoor.
Kapoor notes that the “d” at the end of his name is not a hard stop — it’s meant to be pronounced “Kovid-dah”
With that name he should be remembered ;)
