Two days later Keith proposed while we were on the beach.

Thank you.

Has anyone heard of this musical?

Hot Spot is a musical with the book by Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert, lyrics by Martin Charnin, music by Mary Rodgers, and additional lyrics and music by Stephen Sondheim. It had a brief run on Broadway in 1963. The musical is a political satire.

Mary Rodgers discusses it in her autobiography Shy.

Thanks, Larry. I have that book, just haven’t read it yet.
I wonder if those two songs are available to hear anywhere.

That sounds quite romantic. 💞

It was in its simplicity.  I can still picture.  As it was winter and we were wearing regular clothes we hadn't gone far onto the sand.  Sitting and talking when Keith looked at me with love in his eyes and asked me to marry him.  I said "of course".  To me it was sweet and perfect.  I don't understand these elaborate proposals.  that are popular today.

So beautiful.
Were you on the beach in Santa Monica?
That’s how I envision it.

On this day 57 years ago Keith & I graduated high school.  Back then I have no recollection that it was Groundhog Day ;D

This day?  I thought most graduations were in June.

Big city, baby boom thing.  In Detroit if your birthday was after December 1 you started kindergarten at the end of January after you turned 5 and graduated 13 years later.  I started K in January of 1956 and should have graduated in January 1969.  But I took the second half of 8th grade in summer school to get on a typical academic track.  It’s why Richard’s brother and I are 5 days apart in age but graduated from high school a year apart.  No half year stuff in Middletown.

Our cut off date was also December 1st but we never had an option to do a full semester in summer school, not that I would have done it.

In the second half of 4th grade my classroom was half upper 4th and half lower 4th grade.  It was the class in which Susan moved from the lower half side of the classroom over to my higher class side.

Bruce should have been a mid semester graduate, one year ahead of me, except he graduated in June a year and a half ahead of me.  I guess they weren't too strict on the starting date if parents wanted to start their kid early.

The first half of kindergarten I went to a one room school house.  I loved it and was sorry my parents put me in public school.  I wish they had waited until first grade.  I wasn't unhappy, I just think I was getting a better education.

Yes. I have a bootleg recording. Not top drawer.

I think once or twice during my elementary years they wanted to “double promote” me - skip the second half of the grade - but my parents didn’t want to do that.  All I had to take in summer school was English, social studies, and math.  It was kind of a joke.

No important envelope, so I guess someone IS trying to tell me something and I guess maybe I should listen.
Very sorry that the important envelope did not arrive today….so stressful.
The mail has been very messed up here.
Hopefully, it will be there in the next few days.

Listened to more of Merrily in the car. Really enjoying it. Also think I noticed something I don’t know that I noticed before. Charley and Mary sing a lot more solo or personal material than Frank. Frank has his one solo in the revised version about his friends (“Mary is a nudge …”), but nothing really to himself until Our Time. So we don’t find out enough about Frank from Sondheim’s perspective. He sings a lot, but little is revealing.

I used to have it on my phone but it never caught my attention. When I used up all my memory, it was quickly deleted.

My brother could have skipped and my parents said no.

John, this is a wonderful video of the cast in the recording studio.
I am told that Jonathan Groff is outstanding as Frank.

I get a apecial injection every six months which is done at the infusion center.  Today I had one and left without making an appointment for the next visit as they don't book that far in advance anymore.

I opened an after visit summery email I received and was shocked to find my next visit was sheduled.  You think they would have told me, given me an appointment card, something  :o

I almost didn't open the link in the email that opened the new appointment.  There really wasn't any need for me to read the after summary.

They made the time for later than I want the appointment.  Now I have to deal with getting it changed.

DR FREDDIE I am taking it to the director/producer of the Indy theatre I used to work for this coming Sunday......so I shall see what transpires after that.

I have to say that the world may not be READY for this particular play and point of view at this time.

There's always hope! ;D
